Really amazing story. I am a born Muslim but my parents are both convert from a very age. My dad converted in his 20s n my mom when she met my dad she was 19. I am very grateful that Allah have blessed them with Islam n now because of that I'm Muslim n is very very happy to be Muslim. Our family is very accepting Alhamdulliah. But have you considered that Islam may be the fastest growing religion because of high birth rates in third world countries? Have you considered that a lot people are afraid to come out and say they dont believe in Islam (apostasy) because of the repercussions they would face? And that the statistics may be skewed based on these and other factors? And how does appealing to popularity prove anything? Look at music or movies .A lot of absolute rubbish is popular. (I know music is Haraam or whatever but Im just giving you an example). There are absolutely talentless "artists" like Rick Ross (literally rhymes one word with the same word)/ Souljaboy (even a 5 year old can write better lyrics) etc etc, and these people are millionaires! So would you say that just because something is followed by a lot of people that automatically makes it good or true? I'm sure you have your reasons for why you believe Islam is the truth - but saying "its the fastest growing religion" shouldn't be the argument you use.

Mosques have a crescent shape of a moon at the top, indicating you're worshipping a pagan moon god. Your god is not peace and love. Come to Christ and you shall be saved if you believe in Him as the only way into Heaven. He conquered death and no man ever did that before or ever will after. That proves He is God.

If they do a DNA Test, then they can find out where they really come from. 95% of Turks in Turkey aren't even Ethnically Turkish... since actual Turks look Mongolian or Chinese. But my point is that you mentioned that it's hard to distinguish Turks and Kurds, and I replied by saying that 95% of Turks in Turkey aren't ethnically Turkish. Real Turks look Chinese and Central Asia is where they came from. This Land they call Turkey does not even Belong to Turks... it belongs to Greeks, Armenians and Kurds. Also no Ethnicity is Pure-Blooded these days. Where did you get that from? I born in india,where peoples are calm and good in public,though they are aganist muslim in private... Not at all but is... I thought being muslim is tough, but when i heard and studied islam,i became a good muslim( in my case) alhamdulillah

2 years from now I was depressed and looking for materialistic 'happiness' too, literally the same thing happened. The most successful people seemed the saddest and my entire mentality changed, you are only ever content when closer to Allah. Thanks for sharing your inspirational story

The story about your parents really was heartbreaking for me... I can't even imagine what it must and is like for you.... To know you don't have 100% family support is probably one of the hardest aspect of it all. Having said that, your story to some extent reminded me of the the story of the Prophet saw and his sahabah. They went through SO much persecution, from family members and the community. Muhammad saw lost his parents and khadijah (ra) at an early stage BUT Allah swt replaced them with the greatest of companions, namely Abu Bakr, Uthman, Ali, Umar etc etc... You touchis my heart,, mostly when you tell about your mother, I suddenly remember passed away mother, I do not have any change to her feel how much I love, except on my dua's, you so lucky to have your mother masha'Allah.

Love to see so many reverts in the comments and these revert stories. Love the passion of the reverts, they can teach a a lot to us born Muslims, myself included, as many of us are slipping into complacency. May Allah guide us all inshallah

You know, as a teen, Ali Dawah was an Atheist? He read about EVERY religion multiple times and their books, and only then, his end conclusion was that literally everything the Quran said made sense and was true which really shocked him, unlike any other books.

You are not a muslim by name (sunni/shia etc) or lineage but you only become a muslim when you practice your faith with sincerity. So he did "come back to islam" many muslims experience this too.

Asalaamu Aleikum. My life was just going to the chemist every day to pick up methadone, that's where my crazy youth got me..Yet I still always believed in the Creator. Of course, being a white boy from New Zealand, I thought Christianity had the answers because it's a familiar religion..Still the crazy life went on, until, alhamdulillah, Allah(swt) guided me to Islam.. I did a cold turkey off methadone and felt like I went to hell lol..6 days into it, I went to the masjid, parked outside and nearly never had the nuts to go in. Just all these Arab and African looking dudes going in. I'm always down for a challenge so thought I'd go check it out, but keep my eye on the door in case they wanted to take the white kaffir's head lol. Seriously bro, I didn't know what to expect.. I have never felt such warmth from people I didn't know/culturally identify with.. Carry on with the crazy life, but just take that Shahada bro. Everything will settle down after. Insha'Allah. I'm only 10 months into the Deen, I wish I could say everything is perfect, it aint. Though methadone is just a memory now and my thinking/emotions are so much easier to control. The Arabic learning is a lot easier than I thought too.. Just take the Shahada bro, you know you want to, you never know when Allah(swt) will take us.. Life may be crazy for ya, but the Creator has kept you alive for a reason. He's got a mission for you and He knows you are up for it, or He wouldn't have guided you to Islam bro. It's in your heart now.. Sorry if this is a bit preachy/long winded, but this Islam is the best high I've ever got.. Fajr prayer in one hour, I be making du'a for Richie Cortez..

This was very insightful. I never imagined that someone born into a muslim family would face difficulties when they want to practice their religion. I accepted Islam more than 30 years ago and was ostracised by my entire family even until now. It hurt so much at the time but alhamdulillah I have come to terms with this and was blessed with a family of my own.
