The Quick & Easy Way To Catch Whitebait For Redfish, Trout, Snook, Tarpon, & More
Ойын-сауық
Want to know the easiest way to catch whitebait and a variety of other great baitfish for saltwater fishing?
All you have to do is chum them up and have a cast net to catch them with… but most importantly, you’ll need to know where to find them.
The biggest mistake people make when they try to do this is that they set up in the wrong spot.
They throw out their chum out at a random spot with blind hope that there will be some baitfish in the area.
The next biggest mistake people make is that they use the wrong chum (or prepare the chum incorrectly).
To help you save time and catch more baitfish, we put together this video for you.
In this video, you’re going to learn:
- Where to find boatloads of whitebait
- How to get them to quickly come up to the boat
- The best type of chum
- And much more

Thanks for sharing. That's a great trick for catching bait.
Great info, Thank you Go to Stuart Fl next weekend. Can't wait to try your method .
Loving the pandemic hairstyle and beard. Here in Indonesia all those bait fish would end up on somebody's plate. Possibly mine.
Thanks for the tip! Great job guys!

Thanks Raul!
In the Carolinas I was told to mix the fish meal/powder with clay mud to make a patty and throw it where you will cast your net, wait 5-10 min throw on it that spot for your white bait and shrimp

Oh no wonder, lol. I feel dumb. I was wondering how these fishermen on these channels found spots to haul a few hundred bait fish in one cast. Duh! Thanks for the vid, you have my subscription.

I saw a video you had about catching pin fish on grass flats. I have had some limited success but found them hard to hook. Could you please speak to the specific Gulp bait you used and the type and size of hook you used.
My understanding is, Purina hasn't made fish food or chum for years. You should do a video on what people actually use now, since Purina is no longer available. I know Purina with some menhaden oil and water was the gold standard for chum in the past but, I can't really find any information on what is the best to use these days. Btw, I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm genuinely curious. Tight lines.

Great vid. I remember when your daughter made a chum video, years ago. But I live on the east coast and cannot find that dry chum. Can you leave a link to it please. Thanking you in advance.

I got the chum I was using at St. Pete Tackle Outfitters. I don't see it on their website, but you can surely reach out to them to have them deliver some to you if your local shops don't carry it: www.stpetefishingoutfitters.com/
I grind gulf menhaden and use it with no additives. Freeze it in sandwich bags. Works wonderfully, costs nothing.
can you post the link of this powder that you are using ?
can it be done from shore? I don't have boat.
its amazing how much more it cost when its sold by a bait store or associated with fishing at all lol
Whats size is you cast net?
Would love a link to that chum please.

What do you mean by “the edge of the flat”?
@Saltstrong

This refers to the outside edge of a shallow flat where it meets deeper water.

@@Saltstrong thanks, what if it is an incoming tide. Would you set up closer inland towards shore and let the tide take your chum slick out further towards the edge?
After looking for the Purina fish chum I am unable to find what you are showing in the video. Can you please provide a link to purchase it?

Dumb question...What is a pass?
@Saltstrong
4 жыл бұрын
A "pass" is the term for the waterways that connect the Gulp of Mexico to the interior waterways... examples are Boca Grande pass, San Carlos pass, etc. The equivalent on the Atlantic side is called an "Inlet".
