The Quarter Million Pound Chance | Kyren Wilson vs Ricky Walden | 2022 Gibraltar Open SF ‒ Snooker

Спорт

"One of the most exciting matches I've seen in a long time", Joe Johnson, former world snooker champion and commentator.
Ricky Walden needs to beat Kyren Wilson and Robert Milkins to finish the day with guaranteed earnings of £250,000.
Correction:
To be precise, Walden would have received an additional £10,000 in the WSC ‒not £20,000‒ because playing qualifiers already guarantees £10,000.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
Cesar Muroya created a unique editing format to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter-length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

This is the number one snooker channel. It's where you hit the like button even before watching the video because you have gotten accustomed to great content always. With all the information you have, Cesar, I think you will be an excellent snooker commentator.

That was a real Cliff hanger of a final frame demonstrating the influence of psychological pressure. Such matches are determined by the absence of errors rather than the presence of skill.

The cherry on top is being knocked out by Alan Taylor in WC qualifiers. Let’s hope he doesn’t fall off the cliff again, after doing so well to clamber back up it. Also, brilliant content. Probably my favourite snooker-based channel.

Since learning of Walden’s back issues, and the fact he is extremely polite to the refs,I pull for him no matter the opponent. He seems like the friendly giant.Too bad it didn’t work out for him in this match.

What an absolute shame for Ricky Walden. He will be looking back at so many shots from this match. 25:21 was an especially poor shot in my opinion. Probably nerves, but that is such a bad mistake to make for a touring pro. Most reds were in the open, he probably couldve gotten to snookers requiring stage if he had cleared up. As for prize money... and absolute disaster. SF loser won 6k, winner and final runner-up won 20k, so thats +14k missed out. Betvictor +150k prize, we are at a total of 164k. Tour champion 1R lose would have given him 20k, so 184k. And World Championships seed with 1R loss would have given him +20k, so 204k was at stake in total. What an absolute blunder for Ricky...
