The Q6 E-Tron Is Audi's Most Important Electric Car Yet!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Audi Q6 E-tron is quite possibly the first electric vehicle from Audi that has made us stop in our tracks and take notice as, whilst Audi aren't new to the world of Electric Vehicles, this is the first one they've put on a brand spanking new EV platform - the PPE (Premium Platform Electric). Why is that exciting, we hear you cry?! Bespoke EV architecture means, not only a firm commitment to developing EVs, but it unlocks the scope to include a plethora of super exciting technologies and fit for purpose, thoughtful user experience design. Imogen tried not to swoon too hard at the 800V architecture, 270KW Charging, 220 KW of Regen braking, reduction in rare earth metals, the substantial space and weight saving in the motor and batteries, or the 625Km range.. You can be the judge of whether or not she succeeded! @everythingelectricshow @fullychargedshow

It does look good but you might want to check those numbers on the wheelbase. The overall length is 4.77m (so slightly longer than the EV6 you mentioned) but the wheelbase is actually 2.9m (the same as the EV6) - nowhere near 3.88m. You can tell that just by looking at it (and Audi's own website confirms it).

So one more big SUV with a huge battery to compensate the huge weight and bad aerodynamic, and off course at a huge price. Meanwhile German activists are burning the Tesla factory because of the evil (made in Germany) Tesla model Y. I have been driving an EV for more than 20 years, starting with a PSA 106 electric, and it starts to be irritating to see medias arguing against far too expansive and not even efficient EVs and at the same time complaining that a model Y is far too simple. And I do not own a model Y. I think I am just going to give up on EV news.

Audi Germany are showing a lot more information on this than the UK website. For instance it shows colour and wheel options but unfortunately I would like to know roughly what the Edition 1 spec costs above the base model price. The Edition 1 model includes 21" alloys with red break calipers, passenger screen, matrix signature lights and a proactive passenger protection system to the front, side and rear of the car, and a painted front grill. It also shows the Edition 1 model is available in two colour choices, magnet grey and ascari blue. On the base model it appears you get leather heated seats to the front and rear as standard, a heated steering wheel, B&O 3D sound system (with speakers in all headrests) plus the augmented head up display. It also seems there is an S Line trim between the base and Edition 1 versions. I've also read that sales will begin in the UK from April 30th and I'd expect deliveries in the autumn.

One wonders if manufacturers are shy on promoting the V2"anything" nonsense on the grounds the batteries get a kicking supplying a domestic load which impinges on the range. Most people are aware that the "advertised" range is something of a myth on the simple grounds nobody, repeat nobody, drives in the same way as anyone else and the stonking acceleration of some vehicles would become addictive. It would for me. Plus a manufacturer has no way of knowing how many passengers, the terrain, whether the regenerative braking would be selected or not, etc, etc. To read that a battery can gain sufficient charge in "ten minutes" to provide power for a "defined" range is laughable. It's also laughable how many battery huggers buy into some arrant nonsense, especially as many (most?) of them will never, ever find out for themselves yet will happily discuss all this trivia as if they truly understood the science. I wonder too if all this talk of governments being "persuaded" to offer subsidies for "anything" means that some people, via their taxes in any form, are going to pay for stuff they might not care for. When hydrogen becomes the fuel of choice and necessity, and it will, many battery huggers will be quite cross when HMG stumps up for our section of the European Hydrogen Backbone (Google is your friend) and offer subsidies for boiler replacements and infrastructure. Battery huggers might do well to recall that the idea of going green is to reduce CO2, try, rept try, to reduce the rate of global temperature rise so the ice sheets and caps don't melt and inundated where we live by next week. Not so much of "forget the cost" but "see the dry land". Plenty of disturbing info on how coastal cities will form part of the new sea bed. And if you feel the refugee problem is bad now, then wait until the planet's islands disappear beneath the waves ... And all because of the battery huggers ignorance of how much CO2 is produced in the manufacture of batteries. Hope that helps.

You could put a gas burning range extender in the vehicle and it would still burn less gasoline than a conventional ICE or mild hybrid. You'll never get that carbon trapped back into the ocean or crust. At least with batteries once we've mined enough you can reuse 92-98% of the mineral content. Governments just need to setup the recycling infrastructure because no private company wants to outlay that cash. But definitely open to other models that can provide the same or better experience. Tesla's charing network is second to none, so if Audi can convert to the NACS connector and their cars can auto-route or plan your road trips to ensure you get charged at reasonable intervals, it would be a contender to put pressure on Tesla.

Imagine the waste of time having to queue for days and nights to get connected to a working charger, in the winter, when the domestic load takes priority. Vast storage batteries aren't necessarily going to help as they too are discharging in order to service said domestic load. Electricity supplies to domestic users to keep the circulatory pumps for gas fired c/h boilers, and not forgetting the logic boards.

@@veljkodjukic8783 Most ship fires are caused by poor maintenance from very poorly paid crew. Or discarded cigarettes in highly flammable areas. When cars are involved - it is usually the 12v battery is dislodged in rough seas and shorts out on something metal under the bonnet. Cars should also be shipped with almost no fuel in them but this is seldom the case. EVs have never been the cause of a ship fire to date - but when they are subject to fire, they will burn like anything else. I do not know what happened with the VW / Porsche Ship fire other than it must have cost someone a great deal of money. Almost everything has some or all of it built in China - to ban imports would be very dangerous for the EU as bans work both ways.

I don’t like the design at all on the outside and feel that it’s Audi being too cautious and creating a car that looks dated already. The interior and tech looks like a massive improvement for the VW group. Way too expensive though. I think that Imogen is great especially at the science stuff, but I am missing Jack. This was brilliantly done, but sometimes I wonder if you really should present us 2.5 ton bricks, wider and longer than car spots, with a Cx worse than a washing machine, costing more than anyone should put in a vehicle (then complaining about the cost of public transports). We need to stop burning stuff, but also stop wasting energy (every wasted kWh is in the form of heat) . It's the kind of vehicle made for people who don't care about nature or other people... Audi will do its own advertising to them 😉 (but I still love you !)

yes, programmable lights are somewhat of a gimmick - but what I would do with it is to switch the indicator, to either to a simple on-off, or if it has to pulse, then it would come on then pulse off. call me picky, if you must, but that's how indicators should work! But, apart from this, it's the only pointless bit of style for style sake about this car - and that's a good thing! It is nice to see a car manufacturer spending the development time and budget on things that matter. that way you don't mind paying the price tag

This car is brilliant, the price is surprisingly low. The specs are perfect. There is no EV compromise with this vehicle at all. This car comes down to a choice in body styles and price point rather than EV vs ICE, a very important car. For those complaining about price etc, not every car is for you, this car is too expensive for me, but that doesn't mean it is a bad car, it's just a luxury car.

Hello there, I've been watching the channel for the past decade now, I promote EV's, have two, convinced family to go ev, it wasn't even hard, I didn't even know I did it....and I've been wanting to ask for some time: can you stand a lot of constructive criticism? This channel is now soo good, that it's bad. Jumping the shark, you name it, somewhere in the past two years something changed, and I do not find this channel enjoyable, or useful anymore. It might be my way of saying Robert did a better, raw, human, job, than this polished exceptional ad, because it is more of an ad, of the channel, or of the car, of the presenter, fashion line... than is a useful thing to watch. Robert was undoubtedly cringe sometimes, really didn't take himself too seriously, but that made him one of us, a person, and I miss that. This could be just as well an AI Avatar. dial down the quality, bring some people in the mix.
