you just look for any video including a horse and then make this, you don't even need to care about licenses or anything this way, the only thing was the sound which you can most likely find a free sample as well, so... they did not need any horses for this :D

I LOVE how behind the ads you can vaguely see fire and blood and bones so our hero the guy truly has a grim fate ahead of him but the specifics are forever lost to time and ad space

It's kinda an illusion to life, if you think about it. Everybody feels like everybody else is stupid yet somehow they are the only one who doesn't know what's going on. Everyone else seems to gleefully accept their fate in life.

Trent's characters are always so patient. He does patient exasperation so well, but he'd never let anyone know he's bothered. Every Joel video is better with Trent, and they're already amazing without

This is not a static shot. Man I miss Static Shock. You know that old hero who flew around on a trashcan lid for a bit to illustrate how even after being granted powers beyond normal imagination the disadvantaged are forced to be reliant on what scraps destitution allows.

I feel like this is a lot smarter than it appears to be. A kind of satirical take on legends and memories of the past being sold out for the culture of immediate gratification. Disconnected from the past, we can't see our future.

I watched this when I was still half asleep this morning, and for several hours I thought it was a dream I had. I don't know why it was a relief when I realized my brain did not come up with this, but it was a relief.
The Monty Python troupe would be so proud that their legacy lives on in these amazing videos

Reminds me of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Your first act was Arthur, King of the Britains interacting with the peasants (Dennis and wife). And the second act was the crew running into the mage guarding the bridge. Thanks for not letting MP die.

@@MarcosElMalo2 Monty Python is a comedic group from the very late 60s. They make parodies of mythical and historical tales. "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is their parody of King Arthur's journey to find the.. Well, Holy Grail. This parody was during the mid 70s. It's quite hilarious.
"So over here he helps the wizard start the apocalypse." "Yes that's right." "But he only helps the wizard because he visits the mural." "Yes the wizard altered the mural. Its depicted over there." "But he used up his power to alter the mural so hes powerless now." "Until the hero arrives." "Until the hero arrives to read the mural. Say, I got a niece who works at this ad agency."

I’m so stoked for a new animation, though I love all of your work, Joel. Prob TMI but my parents were killed in a car accident a week ago by someone being irresponsible for no reason. I need all the humor and levity I can get right now and I so appreciate you and your channel (even though you didn’t make it just for me!) I’m driving back across the country now and listened to your van journey one along the way. Sorry this is so long and rambling. Life is just a mess sometimes but it’ll be all right eventually.

@@Joel-Haver Thank you, I appreciate the thought. My parents unfortunately lost 3 of my brothers in separate accidents before they passed themselves. I have learned that you don’t have to know HOW things will get better, just that they will in their own time if you don’t give up. I hope you have a good day and my comment wasn’t too depressing. Btw I listened to your video about making videos with people you love right before that. I thought “I need to call my dad and make a plan to take some new videos.” By the next morning he was gone. You just never know what life holds. Well, my dad was very organized and had a box full of home videos of us and even included a VCR & DVD player in the box. I highly recommend people taking your advice. Take the trip, take the photos, make the video. I have no regrets and have so much media to remember them by. ❤️

@@nararabbit1 I lost all my kid's photos and videos when the cloud didn't really back then up. Now everything is hard copy and back ups. I couldn't imagine losing him and not having those. The idea broke me down when I lost all his baby- age eight. I wasn't raised in a home with pictures present, now I have them. Live and learn I guess. Just glad I learned so I can do like your parents did. I'm so glad you have that. It really does help keep them with us longer. I still look at guys I lost overseas and can remember them and laughing and smiling. Memories are precious and sometimes it's hard to hold onto them and physical reminders pull it back into frame. Sorry I'll shut up

I just want to say, it fucking sucks for Joel and Trent that Justin Roliand got canned. They were working together on some big stuff and I was so excited to see them get more notoriety, and now that door is closed. I feel that pain more than the pain of losing Justin Roliland. I really hope that Joel and Trent continue their journey to greater notoriety, and achieve it in the near future. they are too talented. I don't know if this is right to even say, or if this is the right place to say it, it's a bummer for me, and I'm sure it's a bummer for them. just wanted to recognize this. The prophecy is that the guy would run into two guys that knew his story, and would send the guy to the mountain man, and then the mountain man will have forgotten the story due to selling the original story's mural for ad space.
I guess you could say... the Mural of this story is that you never know what the future will bring, so always be and do your best because you never get a second chance to repaint the parts you don't like...

To say that Joel's trick to humor is 'taking the joke too far' is an understatement. He goes beyond taking it too far, and has turned it into an art form. He does it in a way that when a character sighs in exasperation you completely sympathize with them. And that, is art. The impressive part (and the part I love about these) is that the characters are damn well IN on the joke, but they execute it anyway.
My best friend of over a decade and I, tried to start a relationship a few months back and it fell apart, finally ending yesterday. The bit with the 2 for 1 crabs is the first laugh I've had in 24 hours. Thank you Joel, Trent, Ben, and the rest of you loveable lunatics. You're all doing God's work.
