The Presidents of the United States of America - Video Killed The Radio Star (Music Video)
Музыка
FINALLY!!! the last video we did in the 90s...with Doug Pray director of HYPE! and Surfwis among many others...wish we had a version without the movie footage in there but oh well!
LYRICS:
I heard you on the wireless back in Fifty Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn't stop you coming through.
Oh, a oh
They took the credit for your second symphony.
Rewritten by machine on new technology,
and now I understand the supernova scene.
Oh-a oh
I met your children
Oh, a oh
What did you tell them?
Video killed the radio star.
Video killed the radio star.
In my mind and in my car, we cant rewind we've gone too far.
Oh-a-a-a oh
And now we meet in an abandoned studio.
We hear the playback and it seems so long ago.
And you remember the jingles used to go.
Oh-a oh
You were the first one.
Oh-a oh
You were the last one.
Video killed the radio star.
Video killed the radio star.
In my mind and in my car, we can't rewind we've gone too far
Oh, a, aho oh,
Oh, a, aho oh
Video killed the radio star.
Video killed the radio star.
In my mind and in my car, we can't rewind we've gone too far.
Pictures came and broke your heart, put all the blame on VCR.
You are a radio star.
You are a radio star.
Video killed the radio star. [Repeat: x7]
Video killed that radio star, yes it did.

Ive been looking for this for years, ever since Chris Evens played it on radio One decades ago. I recorded it on cassette played it a few times and the cassette died horribly. Now I can play it again and again.
I remember when I was like, 12, I wanted this song after I heard it on the wedding singer. Then, 6 years later, my brother itroduced me to the band, got me into the music, and I finally discover the song!
I was a little child when i heard this song. Ever since then I want to hear it again but, i can't remember the right lyrics except for the word "radio". After 12 years i finally found the fucking title thanks to our car's radio coincidentally playing this song.
I loved this video when I was a teenager. I'm happy to see it now, I still love it.
To people saying this was the first video shown on MTV, it wasn't, the Buggles version was.

@BadSmaxx a minor correction, it was becomming a hub for reality tv shows.
i have loved this band since i was like 4
I like how it makes the noise of an Electric Guitar while he's playing a Chello. I just found it to be sort of like how instruments have evolved.
I remember seeing the carcass of that red Flying V at a Rock N Roll exhibit, too bad that Chris smashed it, it was such a cool instrument. Hey Chris maybe you should ask the guys from Epiphone to send you another one.
This gives me goosebumps
This song makes me smile :)
@bigbcstudios The original by The Buggles was made in '79. What you just watched was Presidents' cover version of the song. Made in the late 90's.

@RATucknott THIS wasn't, the original Buggles version WAS.
This is one of the songs you can dance to like no one is watching.
Me encanta esta versión. La he escuchado durante años.
My interpretation of this song. Of course, leaving this on the POTUS version, because I was born in '91 and this is the version that I identify with: "I don't remember when I first heard this version of the song, but it was definitely when I was young. Maybe it was in The Wedding Singer? But, no matter where it was, it has always meant something to me. I was never really able to put my finger on it until today. So we all know what this is about on the surface. New technology came and killed the old. Well, I was just thinking today... we're all sort of the "radio stars" in our own lives. What ever happened to that 12 year old kid who use to rock out to this song on his iPod mini? "If I was young, it didn't stop you comin' through!" Well, that 12 year old kid has been "killed" by the new 27 year old me. The old me is no more. The "radio star" is gone. So this song isn't just about the advance of technology... it's about the inevitable march forward of TIME. This song, for me, brings up nostalgia, and maybe sadness for the loss of an innocence that once was. But at the same time, it's delivered in such a way that makes you wanna say... damn, it's been a wild ride. And it still IS a wild ride. Let's keep the march going. Let's mourn the past and cherish it for what it was... but let's keep this thing moving forward. It captures all those emotions and feeling for me. Perhaps that's why the song is so timeless."
