As you all know, I'm preparing for my new film so I needed more lights. I was actually looking at the bigger version of the SD300 but ended up landing on this model!
These 600W GVM SD600II's are actually on sale for $439 on Amazon. That is nearly 50% off of retail according to GVM's site. They seem to be virtually identical to the new version minus a few minor tweaks, like design for instance. They go for around $900 new on GVM's website, but the price may differ a bit. Amazon has the best price for brand new lights!
These come with carrying cases and everything you'd need so it's definitely worth taking a look at. I was able to upgrade from my older lights.
You also lose about 50w but at 50% off, it's not something you need! With that being said, here is a quick video to highlight these lights as well as a quick demo in the studio. You can also use this with V Mounts, the build quality is great and it's definitely going to be useful on my film set.
Update: It looks like the light is back to being priced at $419 (it seems to go up and down)
