The Posture Specialist Reviews Posture Correctors for Rounded Shoulders

Jillian Guilford Hi Jillian! I'm still looking for effective posture products, so until then, yes, the 3-Lock Mountain exercise will be the best, safest, and most effective exercise and stretch you can do to improve your posture. I have a Senior Stars membership on Patreon with videos specifically for seniors to help increase function and independent living. I put together 2 videos per month and make myself available for qts. The link is in the drop box for this video. Otherwise check out the Start Here video Playlist at the end of this video to get more informed about improving your posture. Keep in touch!🌸

After a few days of wearing a posture correction device it started pulling and rubbing under my arms which was annoying, and the only way I could stop it was to lift my shoulders and pull them them back. So the device became a reminder to correct my posture .. .. eventually my correct posture will get into muscle memory and indirectly the device is achieving exactly what I want.

Hi Stewart...the posture corrector is a great Posture Hook for sure. Some people will more more uncomfortable than others and the pulling and rubbing under the arms will be felt on those whose kyphosis is greater. The rubbing and pulling will also be felt more with the rounded shoulders. For you and anyone who is reading this, please remember that the muscles need to be engaged to actually exercise, so if you are not actually engaging your muscles (holding them in the correct position), you will not get the adaptation you are anticipating. If you are responding appropriately to the Posture Hook and actually engaging the muscles to get into the Diaphragm Lock, you will have an optimal adaptation and gentle corrective gain.

Great content! I love that you are focusing on such a key part of musculoskeletal health. Once you're in the corrector it will make it easier to do the necessary corrective exercises to "own" the new position. How you hold your body impacts the stress on the surrounding soft tissues which will decrease pain and cut down on unnecessary injections and surgeries for you and your loved ones. This is my channel's mission!

Hi Ernesto, I haven’t tried the product, so I cannot give a definitive answer. You will want to watch my other posture corrector videos though just so you have more info under your belt on what to look for. When I went to the BB site, the models look great, but every video I saw with people actually putting the corrector on looks like the back strap comes up too high, which means it will push the scapula upward. Unfortunately if you don’t wear it correctly or it isn’t a good fit for your body, it will only work against what you are trying to correct. I do have one that I have continued to recommend. The link to the product is in my other two videos on posture correctors. You can also find it on my website store at theposturespecialist.squarespace.com. The 3-Lock Mountain is going to be the best exercise and stretch you can do to safely improve your posture long term. I have a playlist for that on my channel. I also have weekly Zoom classes and the first one is free. Let me know if you would like an invite. Schedule is also on my website. Take care and make it a posture perfect day!🌺

R90 dharma I am currently trying one recommended by a viewer who commented on this video. I am wearing it in my newest giveaway video and will be trying it for 30 days and giving a review. I do not recommend anything I have not tried and found it to be useful and of good quality. A posture belt and posture brace are two different things. I do have a lumbar belt that I think is useful for posture. You can check that video out in my product review Playlist. It is good for mid and lower back support but is not going be very useful for upper back/forward head/anterior rotated shoulders dysfunction. I have links to all products I recommend currently in each product review video. Do you know where your postural discrepancies are? Have you been assessed yet?

M Bey Absolutely. Which postural dysfunction were you wanting to correct? Do you know all of the different ones and which ones you have? The 3-Lock Mountain is the most balanced and safest corrective posture exercise you can do daily to improve your posture. You can practice it in everything you do 24/7 without needing any additional weights or gadgets. A posture assessment would be super helpful though if you have multiple postural discrepancies, which most of us have. 🌸

Well hopefully it helps someone. I'm going to see your posture corrector methods. I'm a logistics driver/transporter and sit down all day. I use an elastic band and do reverse hypers to decompress my lower back. That has also improved my posture as well as rotator cuff exercises and holding and contracting my rear deltoids and foam rolling. The posture corrector should be used more as an accessory in my own opinion I used them to teach myself and my muscles to be in that position. Not so much to have it fix my problem

sal 0 That is great Sal! I'm sure the one you are using has helped in some way. I have another one I actually like and will be talking about soon, so you will be able to see and tell me your thoughts. The video will be very detailed as I wore the posture brace for 30 days and sometimes slept in it, which I do not recommend unless you have a professional supervising you and recommending you to do so. Keep up the great work! Yes there are many corrective exercises out there, but I usually prefer to recommend them per individual rather than broad recommendations. Some are safe enough for everyone, but I want to be thoughtful about what I put out there so no one gets injured. Micro- corrections are truly the best way to focus on, in my opinion, but every professional is going to have their own bias. Glad you have something that helps you to remember good posture. I call these Posture Hooks and have a video on this. Good stuff for sure!!

@@theposturespecialist3LM I don't mind you using my comment. I use a GEA RARI posture corrector at work. I'm an office worker who spends all day typing at a desk, which tends to encourage slouching and holding your shoulders in an unnatural position. My posture corrector restricts the forward movement of my shoulders while reaching for the keyboard and I've experienced far less cramping between my shoulders since I started using it. It should also be noted that posture correctors are intended to be worn for longer periods of time over the course of several weeks, so merely putting one on for a few minutes while standing still is not a fair way to assess the efficacy of the product.

SleepDeprived42 Great input. I am going to order the one you use and give it a try. Like I said in my video, the two did not seem to be effective and the white one was more effective than the others, but I thought it was off low quality. I have very high standards on products and would never recommend anything I think would make my clients or myself more uncomfortable. That is so I said I was still looking for one that I liked and I encouraged companies to contact me. I completely agree that wearing one for a period of time will give better insight into its efficacy. But I first need a product I would want to wear that long. The ones that I reviewed I did not name because I really like the companies and other products they make, but wanted to make sure people knew that if it was cheaply made, uncomfortable, or completely a wrong fit, to not use it. When I review an actual brand, I will give the name, otherwise I will review the type of product and give my professional and personal opinion, since I have had back injuries myself and dealt with chronic pain in the past. I am thrilled that this product is working for you and deeply appreciate your input. It is comments like yours that help me to review quality products and share it with the mass. I just had a viewer tell me about a topical for pain in a different video that I was then able to share on my Christmas video. Super awesome. I will respond back on this thread when I get the posture corrector of I have questions, if that is okay with you.

On the second one the first that you tried on - you clearly had too large a size - the belt kept coming off and the shoulders were too loose - sure signs.

iOn-Christopher DiMeglio This was the size the company sent me. It is possible that other companies have better size options that will fit people correctly, but this one didn't for sure. The belt kept coming off because the velcro was cheap, not because it was too big. The straps on the shoulders fit well, but they had way too much elasticity. Rewatch it so you can see and hear the noise the belt makes. Very cheaply put together. I imagine there are others out there that are made better. @@theposturespecialist3LM yeah I think...I saw a video where a guy just let it slip straight down over his head. I tried it and it all comes apart. So yeah I think that's the case. It's my fault, I bought it from a facebook ad. And I also got those durable gloves from a facebook...another waste. Thanks for responding, maybe it's in your video but I forgot. Can you recommend one?...thanks)

Easter Beast So sorry. Shopping for wellness products when there are so many to choose from can be super frustrating. I do have a couple of follow up posture correctors and one has a link to the posture brace I tried for 30 days. Let me get those videos for you and you can check them out to make sure you are fully informed. Then you can check out the posture brace(I actually have it on my website store for wellness products I use and recommend). Give me a couple of moments.
