As the free agency period creeps even closer, the Pittsburgh Penguins likely still need a backup goalie. With Alex Nedeljkovic likely walking to free agency, Hunter and Patrick have started looking at some options to replace him, including last week with Kevin Lankinen and Laurent Brossoit. They continue that with one more option to start Monday's show with Kaapo Kahkonen. They look at if Dubas would see him as Alex Nedeljkovic 2.0 since his numbers are similar to where Ned's were at the end of the 2022-23 season. They detail that he'd likely come fairly cheap like Ned did, but is he still the best option? After that, the Penguins announced on Sunday that they're going back to Kraft Hockeyville for another preseason game. Hunter and Pat share the details of the announcement and how this will be great for another hockey community. They also discuss how the Penguins continue to get big draws for these types of games before ending the show with how the Edmonton Oilers struck back against the Florida Panthers in Game 4.

To quote a silly little mayor down in Tampa couple years ago asking the team to let a Canadian team have just one game win and let them have their moment so the team can come back down and lift the cup on home ice. Wouldn't it be silly if it happened again?
Johnstown no longer has a professional hockey team. The War Memorial is now the home of the Johnstown Tomahawks, a junior league team, part of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). You should come to a game, or two, this season. Lots of action from young guys trying to get scouted, and maybe drafted, or college commitments.
It would be nice if ned came back but i think his agent will ask for too much money for a backup goalie. Kaakonen i remember rumors of penguins possibly trading for him before jarry signed his new deal. As you guys said, the sharks were awful and hung him out to dry constantly. So his numbers should be taken with a grain of salt. I remember going to johnstown and watching the chiefs when i was younger. It was a good time. I think hockey is the best sport to see in person. Football your too far away too see or if your in lower seats you cant really see the whole field. Baseball is just boring to watch in person or on tv
If trying to compare to Ned why not just keep Ned!

Unfortunately,I see the Pens running back with 90% of the same team. Replacing Carter with AHL guy and maybe new backup goalie,not much we can do. Hopefully new assistant coach can fix this once talented power play!
