I have never used sugar or vanilla essence for scones. Also one is suppose to lift flour and butter in the air. And work quickly. Is this a cup cake recipe. Scones are savoury

There's a difference between baking soda and baking powder..so I've used baking powder so is not that much

I feel that the scones did not rise as high as they should've... perhaps you handled them too much.... Also, you did not open one for your viewers to see the inside of the scone.... I wanted to see the flakiness of the dough ! Just my humble opinion.🙂

The dough needs to be thicker. Not so flat. Then the scones will rise more. But they still look delicious. Well done. 😊
