Facts
The fact that this monologue is all about status points to a likelihood that the core of the character is there. The Batman mythos leaves a lot open to interpretation, but there are certain key elements that define certain characters. For The Penguin, that's an obsession with status symbols. I hope the show explores that a lot.

Unreal. This is a masterclass in acting from Colin Farrell.
went into "The Batman" almost completely blind. All I knew was that Robert Pattinson from "Twilight" was playing Batman. I didn't know who else was in the cast & I think I only watched the trailer once. As a lifelong Batman fan, I was blown away. Even after sitting theough the entire almost 3 hour movie, (which didn't feel like 3 hours cause I was so immersed in the world that Matt Reeves had created) I had no clue that Colin Farrell was the guy playing the Penguin until the end credits rolled. I say all that to give you a sense of just how brilliant his performance was. My man deserved to win some sort of award. That's the power of acting. That's the goal. At the end of the day all actors want is for you to forget its them you're seeing and only acknowledge the character. That's why so many do the method thing, acting as the character at all times so they themselves get lost in it and hope to have the same effect on their audience. Colin is great at it, Johnny Depp is terrific at it. But Gary Oldman is the best of them. I would also cite Daniel Day Lewis as another outstanding chameleonic actor. But there are so many. Lon Chaney, Boris Karlof, Marlon Brando, Christopher Lee, Sir Ian McKellan, Willam Defoe, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, the list goes on...

He was gay, Oswald Cobblepot?
LOVE the idea of the teaser essentially being a monologue by Oz. This iteration of the character has so much to say and the world isn't ready. Lfg 🔥🐧
Reginald McDonald said God bless and keep up the great work out there coming from Jackson Ms and we love y'all out here too ❤️🙏🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼☝🏼
I see that they're making a series about The Penguin with a Sopranos style to it. That's just so fascinating to see, Colin Farrell is definitely going to deliver this role perfectly after he did it in The Batman 🙌

I have my own idea for a batman movie like this, I wish I could share it. I'm very excited.
I can't wait for fall to be here, Let's goo Colin!!🔥🔥
The next chapter in The Batman Saga !!! 😮💨 this looks promising. MAX has been on a roll this week 🔥
Collin Farell is back and ready to take over the criminal empire in Gotham. Paying off when he asked Batman if he knew his reputation with Batman saying, "Yeah. Do you?" Now he will

Brilliant! It's clear that this past mobster was Oswald's inspiration for getting into organized crime, and is the role model of what he himself aspired to become: A gangster who is powerful, but also respected, well- liked, even seen as something of a force for good in his community in spite of what he undoubtedly did for a living. Problem is, things don't always turn out that way. Oswald's appearance hindered people from taking him seriously, so in order for him to get ahead in the Mafia, he had to instead prove he was more ruthless than everyone else. This show's going to be amazing!

This is how you make a villain centered show, the Penguin is a criminal through and through who wants to take control of Gotham's underworld and stay in that position of power by any means necessary. He isn't some crappy antihero like Sony's Spiderman villains.

This series looks like if Batman met Peaky Blinders, The Sopranos, and The Wire to combine all of them together. Hopefully it's worth the wait, seriously can't get enough how awesome Colin Farrell is in this role 🙌

You'd never know that was Colin Farrell!!! He did a great job as The Penguin. Can't wait to see the show.
This trailer is literally just Penguin narrating a story and yet it’s one of the best trailers of the year. Oh yeah, this show is gonna be nuts.
He’s the perfect penguin. When I think about this new series it sends a chill up my spine
COLLIN FARRELL SUPER UNDERRATED ACTOR
I was already 100% gonna watch this, but seeing that Clancy Brown is playing Sal Maroni makes this a *required* watch in my book. This show looks fantastic.

Especially since Clancy Brown is well-known for portraying villains/antagonists in various live-action media. Capt. Byron Hadley in The Shawshank Redemption, General Wade Eiling in The Flash, and Kurt Caldwell in Dexter: New Blood. Especially voicing villains/antagonists in various animated/cartoon media. Lex Luthor in various DC media and the DC Animated Universe (like Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League: Unlimited), Savage Opress in Stars Wars: The Clone Wars, and Rahzar in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tv show.
