Most people would dismiss this scene as just nonsense being flung by the Joker at Batman but every single word he said was 100% true. He explained the nature of the Riddler with perfection. He was also right about Batman. This was a younger Batman who called himself vengeance. He wanted criminals to fear him. He wanted them scared shitless that he may be coming for them next. The Joker knows this so he used this meeting to get at Batman's sense of identity and self-worth because he hasn't caught the Riddler and people are dying in gruesome ways. He's afraid criminals will see him as weak and maybe they don't need to worry about Batman. The Joker gave him a psych evaluation was was on the nose for both Batman and the Riddler. All within a minute of looking at a few pictures of the crime scenes. They don't give the Joker the credit he deserves. Guy is insane, scary and highly intelligent.

It could’ve been a foundation that the producers and whatnot could’ve branched off of. I hope they do but won’t get my hopes up. Too many of the new generation drooled over the “joker” movie that came out recently. I fear that nothing will come of this due to that. Sadly, they deleted this scene for a reason. Prob because of the hype and likes for the joker shit they put out recently. We need and deserve a legit version of Batman that is as dark as the comics were. He actually looks like someone who's been dropped in acid. It's always some weird perfect chemical that just turns them into clowns in so many iterations. This one feels so real its horrific. Like the clown make up is just a distraction or accent to his horrific disfigurement. I hope we see more of this one.

I think he’ll be one of the best Jokers we’ve seen but if this scene was in the movie it wouldve stolen a lot from the movie itself. It’s a great teaser/sneak peek into what we’ll see in the future but it 100% wouldve taken a lot away from Dano’s Riddler which I think was awesome to watch. I love Batman but without the villains Batman is just Batman, needs great villains that need good development and I think this scene leads up to that very well

Man, this joker has massive potential, he really played the role of the psychiatrist in this scene. no, batman played the joker like a piano. he knew the joker was starved for attention (ever been locked up? or in a nuthouse? i have to both - visitors are rare, especially cool ones). he knows the joker is intelligent. he insulted his intelligence and walked away, calling the joker's bluff, and joker spilled the beans in his own fucked up way. kinda like clarice starling taking the files from doctor lecter and walking away, playing to his vanity only to get what she wanted. same shit, 30 years later.

I think Christopher Nolan and Matt Reeves are the only two directors to portray The Joker’s intelligence. For however insane The Joker is his intelligence makes up for it. The way he uses words like “Baroque“ or “meticulous” and is able to read Batman even when he’s wearing his mask an tell he’s angry suggests maybe he derived from an academic background but due to his deformity became secluded and read a lot, studied but driven insane by normal people around him. Society was The Vat of Acid and The Joker was thrown into it.

Mostly yeah, but I disagree with the implication that using a four-syllable word is indicative of his intelligence. Hell, I could utilize any aggregate of quadrisyllabic or even multisyllabic morphemes more or less accurately with the intention of insinuating that I am a perspicacious individual. I don’t think that means I’m smart tho, just means I know some big words. Joker’s real intelligence here is displayed, as you said, in his ability to read people, to learn everything about a person based on what little information or cues he’s given.

This is a freaking master class. He is so creepy because he sounds safe. He sounds like a friend

What an intelligent dialogue. The two HAVE to meet. But this joker is not for the streets. This is a master puppeteer, and the GPD is hopelessly overmatched. To deal with it requires strategic thinking on Batman's part, but this Joker is not an easy opponent, it's more like a final boss of sorts

More likely the reason why they decided not to use this scene is because it was too reminiscent of the scene in Silence of the Lambs where Agent Sterling solicits help from Hannibal profiling Buffalo Bill. Even the dialog between the two scenes is dangerously similar.

This scene just goes to show how intelligent Joker is under that facade he wears. That is why people don't take him seriously because they look at his outward appearance and think he is just crazy and all talk.

They should definitely make this guy the main nemesis in the 3rd film in this Batman series

This and Joaquin Phoenix’s joker movies are separate from the new upcoming DC universe reboot. They’re all apart of their own respective universes with the intention being that it’s story over giant crossover action movies. Marvel is doing a similar thing with their announcement R rated films that will under a separate “label” so as to promote all different kinds of storytelling that doesn’t tangle things up and confuse people.

this joker is the most human so far, but i guess he's not joker yet

All the core qualities of the Joker while also being a completely original take on the Joker. I hope they slowly build to him over time instead of having him be the big threat sooner, he should be a background character for the time let Batman grow and develop and then when he comes into the picture it will truly test him mentally. Great quote from Arkham Origins when he first starts dealing with the Joker: “I’ve dealt with psychopaths before, but this is…”

Seriously! This version of Joker is no joke. Although Heath Ledger is lauded as the best Joker to date. This one looks like he could just kill you and not miss a heartbeat! Will be interesting to see if and how he maybe introduced into the Reeve universe.

Barry Keoghan is a brilliant actor.

As much I love and consider Heath Ledger's my favorite performance of all time this is the only Joker portryal to truly, genuinely creep me out and shake me up a bit especially when seeing his face through the glass and how it's out of focus but I think Barry Keoghan may just give Ledger a run for his money. Brilliant take on the character.

I like this version of a relationship between Batman and Joker. Kind of makes sense. Batman never kills Joker bc Joker is some kind of mirror for him.

I cannot imagine what the reasoning was behind cutting this. It was one of the best scenes in the entire movie. They could have cut almost anything else instead... I don't understand...

Because they didn't want to overshadow the villain in the movie.with something like the silence of the lambs,the main character was really Hannibal Lecter,not the serial killer who was being hunted.if they introduced the joker into this while the story was progressing,nobody would have cared about the riddler but instead would have been waiting for the joker to be on screen again

There are some great "silence of the lambs" vibes in this scene.

While we all know that joker was born with the burn defect, I think the Chemical bit is still possible, his whole body looks bleached and his hair is falling out kinda like the joker from Gotham, He’s got the red lips and the crazy green hair, all the crazy scars and mangled face and at the very end, we get a very up-close look at him, like I said, we have his bleached face and his crazy eyes. as well as that insane laugh

I hope at some point we see the joker when he breaks out and puts in his white and red makeup. This look is cool in a disturbing realistic way, but I think his performance mixed with the wacky look of the joker will make it perfect.

Another great Joker is Cameron Monaghan’s Joker from the show “Gotham” from a few years ago. He portrayed Joker very very well!! But I would have to agree with you though the best Joker of all time is Heath Ledger’s Joker from the Dark Knight!

And The Batman’s Joker has a giant red smile on his face, his skin does look a little bit bleached and of course, his skin is all bubbly and like scared as well his hair is completely falling out after he fell into a vat of acid. And actually, this Joker speaking of the acid, does look really similar to The Joker in Gotham.

Can’t believe this was the kid from Dunkirk. Dude can act.

I would love to have jokers personality and traits (apart from his psychopathic tendencies and murderous intentions), he literally is batmans equal. Intelligent as anything more than he lets on but isn’t serious at all. Like joker always finds a way to keep batman on his toes and in this one he even goes to joker and asks him when he’s supposed to be the worlds greatest detective

I don’t think he’s the world’s greatest detective yet in this part of his life . I think he’s still tryna figure out how the alter ego crime fighting detective thing is going to work out. That’s why I feel like putting riddler as the first villain showing that part of Batman was a perfect choice showing he has to use his brain instead of brawn , besides using only his strength against someone like bane , killer croc or slade for example. But that’s just my opinion .

I know no-one wants to say anything against the great Heath Ledger's Joker, and I am hesitant to say it either. Joaquin Phoenix's Joker was phenomenal if not better slightly and that's only because Christian Bale brought down Ledger. This guy, who I don't know his name, but in this deleted scene played the best POST Ledger/Joquin joker in Arkham Asylum. This was terrifying and I'm so glad it was filmed.

This definitely should have made the final cut

Ledgers joker felt like a guy who was pushed too far and stopped giving a shit about morals. This joker feels like a guy who literally got pushed too far into acid and is batshit insane lol This one is a breath of fresh air and I’m here for it

Love the end scene with the riddler. This does demonstrate the psychosis and the brain but i like the end scene with riddler in and of itself. Excited to see Joker 2 though but this guy has treat potential for more in this batman universe

Dude the "detective" batman up against an "intelligent" joker would be amazing. People forget or aren't aware that he is super smart, might be an actual genius. Also the influence of ledger is very clear.
