At the BBC in 1978 the video editing staff would save the best out takes, cuts with swearing that couldn't then be shown on broadcast TV for their Christmas Tapes, that were only for sharing within the industry. I got to see some through a friend who worked at the BBC. It was common when someone screwed up their lines for them to acknowledge that they were going to be on the Christmas Tapes by saying Merry Christmas VT. The rise of the Christmas Tapes coincided with the boom in domestic video recorders and the Christmas Tapes were soon being pirated. Bill Cotton, the BBC’s Managing Director of Television, banned the tapes in 1983, after his daughter bought one in Shepherds Bush Market.

Much like the set of TNG, the set of the Orville I'll BET you is always full of giggles and pranks.

Not every little flubbed line is hysterically funny. Need better choices of outtakes - though I could watch the guys playing the mochlus men read a phone book I think and find it entertaining. Sad they sacrificed that to wokester nonsense in season 3,
