I don’t know what’s more horrifying and hilarious, that Isaac cut his leg off attempting a practical joke, or that the severed leg that fell doesn’t match up to malloys stump which stops around the knee; implying that there’s multiple severed legs hidden on the ship. Lol

One or two episodes later, Gordon gets stabbed in the leg by a Krill. His response: "Gah! Son of a BITCH that was a new leg!"

Thanks for including the scene where Gordon tells Issac it was the best practical joke he'd ever seen. A lot of scene comps of this episode leave that out. The only thing that could make it better is if you'd had the scene an episode later where he gets stabbed and screams "DAMNIT THAT WAS A BRAND NEW LEG!"

My guess is Malloy would have been interpreted to have been as much of a threat by his internal sensors as he was the first time.....

Love how Gordon tries to come after Isaac as if he could actually hurt him. Isaac is a machine so if Gordon tried to punch him for example he would only break his hand doing so.

That was intentional. In a way Isaac is a bit like a mixture of Spock and Data, he does not wish to be a human, however because of his mission has to collect data about every organic phenomenon. Including jokes and coitus.

Good thing that the Orville isn't a standard transmission, because there's no way he's going to clutch with that little baby leg at the end.

I love that despite how worried she is about it, Alara is trying so hard not to laugh as she helps Gordon out of the Bridge

One of the best shows on television!

No reason to take him anywhere, Issac likely did it right there in the bed. As seen in the latest season, Isaac can perfectly preform extremely complex cosmetic surgery solo, a leg is a cake walk by comparison.

I like this altcanon. The Kaylons all along we’re trying to make a practical joke! “These biologicals have centuries of literature where AI’s decide to kill them all.” They also have clarified their humor with statements such as “wouldn’t it be funny if that happened.” We will begin a genociadal war with the organics and halt it at the appropriate point to say ‘Ha Ha, got you.’ They will find it hilarious.”

i like that you can see how Alara is having to dodge the actual leg (which if youve seen some deleted scenes is just covered in green) of gordon as they walk out. thus her weird walk

The cutoff leg was actually way too big. Isaac cut it off at the knee level and not at the hip level.

Isaac didn’t have a twofold plan, he had a threefold plan. First was “Ha ha, i took your leg.” Second was “ha ha, I hid the leg.” But the third unspoken stage was “ha ha, wrong leg!” He regenerated part of the severed leg just so it wouldn’t fit. That’s also why it’s not bleeding.
