Believe me. Although there are many more funny parts, that is not why the series is so good. The comedy is actually not the main focus.

weird that in this show whenever there are profanity words it feels intelligent and actually funny, whenever there is profanity in any modern Star Trek show it just feels juvenile and absolutely cringe *Picard face palm*

Trying to find a deleted episode....Can anyone help me?? I've watched all the Orville's seasons 3 times. I remember an episode where everyone was fit and healthy and they drank smoothies and sex was shared by everyone openly. The women were in charge of the planet. I've tried finding it again but it's not in any of the seasons. I think they deleted it?? Or it was my imagination..?Does anyone else remember this episode?? It reminded me of what the new earth would be like.

This episode set up a chekovs gun that hasnt been shot and it irritates me as a fan and writer. Unless its used during the war with the Moclans, its gona be a huge missed oportunity from the writers. It could be chekovs gun mixed with foreshadowing. Moclans can be taken out using cigarretes. Just make thwm addicted to nicotine and their civilization will fall in days

One last thing; Topa’s story is extremely important and relevant to today’s society as well. Their cultural heritage and how cruel and barbaric their culture can be with many things makes you think about our own. It makes you ask the question; just because it’s cultural heritage, does that make it right?

I'm curious what you find this to be derivative of. I find it to be an excellent extension of the startrek series. Much better than the latest shows startrek actually releases.
