I bought it a few days ago in Germany, and have been using it since. I was surprised at its lightness, almost silky, and - most importantly - how well it actually does remove dust, powder, cigarette smoke, sunscreen, foundation and skin grime. Very little goes a long way, and two rounds take off everything plus the semi-waterproof mascara. Even in round 1 of cleansing the mascara started to melt. Amazing! I’ve rosacea with mixed skin leaning towards oily t zone. Just remember to use it twice.

I love the squalane cleanser for my combo skin, as the first step of a double cleanse at night. It gets off everything, including sunscreen, without irritating or stripping, and then I use a gentle foaming cleanser. Seems like the new cleanser would work well with that, or on its own in the morning.

@@danielagranadosenriquez4287 I haven't tried it, but imagine it would work very well. It liquefies to an oil consistency when you rub it in your hands for a few seconds, and that allows it to melt everything off very easily. This is what happens to me every single time I try to use a "gentle" cleanser - breakouts in 2-3 days because it just doesn't wash the insane amount of oil off my face well enough. I'm guessing this one is not for me either. Sticking with my "stripping" foaming stuff lol

@@20thcenturyrelic I'm sure, but I'm talking about the regular "gentle" foaming/gel cleansers that everyone raves about these days. You know that "squeaky clean" feeling that we're supposed to avoid? If I use a cleanser that doesn't do that, we're going to break the hell out. Happened every time until I eventually gave up and stuck to stuff with the consistency of, say, the Holika Holika Daily Fresh Cleansing Foam line. Those always do great. Funnily enough, I can use the heaviest of oil cleansers without issue as a first cleanse - as long as I take it all off with the second one. I've given up on trying to figure this out and just roll with whatever works ngl

I have a question 🙋🏽‍♂️, I have been using tretnoin for the last 6 months and I think it has benefited my acne and hyperpigmentation, but it causes a lot of dryness, so I compensate with hydrating serums and thick moisturizer to reduce the dryness. I have started only cleansing at night and simply washing with water and continuing my routine in the morning. Is this okay while on tret or do I need to cleanse in the morning to take off the tret if that makes sense idk 😭. I think this has made my skin less dry but I noticed when I applied the tret this evening it irritated more than usual and I’m wondering if that’s because I didn’t cleanse in the mornin. Lmk your thoughts im looking for some guidance 🤗

A morning cleanse is not needed- the products actives have absorbed and lived their life - their half life doesn’t stay active in the surface for the duration between the cleansing. Have you tried putting your hydrating moisturizer down first- waiting 10 mins then adding the Tret on top? Wait again and add your heavier moisturizer on that.

  • @Candice.BonsaiScience

Also at night check your cleanser your using - many times it’s not just the product your applying but from the product before. You may want to back off and use it every other night or decrease the strength if needed. Also like I mentioned above putting down a layer of nutrient rich hydration and letting it dry down before applying the Tretinoin can make it way more tolerable.

I'm pretty happy with the cleansers I'm using, but if that changes, I'll keep this in mind. It sounds like an excellent option for dry sensitive skin. Why cleansers plural? Well, there's a drugstore one I use in the morning in the shower, or in the evening if I don't have makeup on. It's much cheaper per ounce than the Paula's Choice product I use in the evening to remove makeup. If not for the price difference, there's no reason not to use the PC product exclusively, and that's what I do when I travel and it doesn't make sense to pack 2 products. Decyl glucoside is the 2nd ingredient in the Eucerin Baby Wash and Shampoo, which I've used successfully as a body wash on my dry, sensitive skin. I never thought to try it on my face because my face is even drier!

Use the ordinary glycolic acid toner! It also helps with odor too. It lighten up my armpits and other scars. I don’t recommend using it on your face but everywhere else on your body yes! Also helps with dandruff too

Why did The Ordinary put “benzyl alcohol” in it???? It’s an aromatic alcohol. 😤

It's also a preservative, solvent, and viscosity-decreasing agent. Perhaps that also helped them make the product not smell bad, as a lot of unfragranced cleansers tend to.

I mean...the squalane cleanser should not be used as a standalone, it should be used as a first step in double cleansing. These are two completely different cleansers for different uses

I really love your videos, but the only thing that i find annoying is the archive footage in EVERY video and literally every 30 seconds, its no need for it, it would be so much better with just u talking and giving your good advice and knowledge.

I feel validated because I actually use Johnson's baby shampoo as a face cleanser and I love it. It started when my eye doctor recommended it to wash my itchy eyes. And my face feels buttery
