The one with ALL the cast-ons and a lower bodice // MELIDES Dress Vlog #2 // Goodknits

Continuing with documenting the knitting process of my MELIDES dress. In this Vlog I'll take you through the lows of my cast-on process (and what I learned) and the highs of getting through the lower bodice so quickly.

Ah I love seeing the progress!! Glad to hear that after you casted on it’s been relatively smooth sailing! :) I hope it stays that way and I can’t wait to see how it grows! ❤

I like to have the markers in the life line. I just add them again on the next row or I use removable markers for the lifeline row if you don’t like them there.

OH MY WORD……… You are a trooper girl! I’m amazed and totally inspired by your tenacity to make this dream project happen. I’m certain your hard work and rough beginning will pay off in a beautiful project. One thing I’d suggest, as a former “Purling sucks!” girl, give Continental purling a try. Even if you still “ throw” right handed to knit. It’s very efficient as there’s very little movement of your hands which helps my tension tremendously. It’s also faster. An added bonus is it seems to give my hands a rest-very little fatigue/aching. I love it so much I actually purl every single row if working in the round unless there’s something in the pattern preventing that. Maybe try on some “gauge doesn’t matter” project like a little wash cloth. Many KZread tutorials to choose from. It’s clunky and weird and oh so wrong feeling at first, then magically becomes the easiest thing ever. It has easily tripled the types of projects I’ll tackle now. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your experiences, especially this one. It really does help us other knitters to learn new things. And is that THE cardigan you’re wearing? I’m hoping you have fallen in love with it, as it looks lovely on you. Like a fluffy hug. Blessings from Hilton Head Island, SC, USA.

So sweet 🥰🥰 it is indeed THE cardigan. It’s really growing on me! I wear it multiple times a week and am just procrastinating adding the buttons Thanks for the recommendation for the purling. I’ll check it out!
