The Number One Mistake in Weight Loss Journeys

Ойын-сауық

On this episode, I delve into the number one mistake people make in their weight loss journey. Many individuals feel frustrated after trying multiple diets without success. The common pitfall I highlight is relying solely on drastic calorie reduction, which can harm metabolic health. As hormonal shifts during aging, like menopause, impact weight loss, it's crucial to strike a balance in creating a caloric deficit. Tune in to learn why extreme calorie cutting may not be the most effective approach to sustainable weight loss.

I totally agree! I would do any diet under one condition: not to be hungry. When I’m hungry I have no energy, can’t work, can’t work out, can’t focus and can’t sleep. During the last 3 years I lost over 30 kg by switching to raw vegan, omad, 2mad, keto, carnivore, wfpb. Whole, unprocessed foods allowed me to eat to fullness, feel satiated and satisfied, and eat a lot. 3 years ago I was counting 1000 calories a day, starving and obese, today I have a full tummy at ~2-200 kcal a day and am slim. The whole/unprocessed foods helped me (I meal prep/cook everything at home from scratch), but also I noticed something during these years: our body has a sort of inertia to self-regulate different things such as weight and energy. I made my first meal the main (biggest and richest) meal of the day and I think that was the best decision of my life. Around two hours after I wake up (workout, coffee, shower first). This gives me energy throughout the day, I don’t have to worry much about food anymore, and having extra energy, I can actually spend more energy, results in increased metabolic rate but also increased calorie expenditure, I don’t need to binge at end of day\week because whatever I want, I cook it (I made healthy home cooked versions of whatever I want to eat no matter is keto or raw vegan or wfpb). This sort of inertia doesn’t come quick after making the change, it takes some long time to adjust, but you feel it, it’s your strength, vitality, self confidence and mental clarity, and positivity. For the rest of the day then most days I don’t eat (not hungry), or I have fruit, and for dinner always oats with blueberries + blackberries, because it’s the very best food for last meal of the day (magnesium and melatonin in oats support a sound sleep). I just found your channel, I am new to wfpb (starch, legumes, steamed veggies and fruit), switched from carnivore. Oh my, the meeting with the carbs again after long time, was painful on my body (because after long abstinence from carbs, the body doesn’t know what to do with the carbs!). I’m almost adjusted now. I was fearing not having all that protein would make me feel hungry but the beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and tofu seem to be satiating and satisfying enough and I have to admit, I don’t crave anything at all.

Sounds good, but may be no need the rice, neither the potatoes. Continue not eating sugar (real cacao with macadamia nuts and some butter is good replacement. Watch Bobby Price regarding 4 most toxic foods.

Sounds good (except may be no need the rice and potatoes). Continue not eating sugar. If you crave chocolates, get some macadamia nuts and real cacao powder instead. Or some butter with cacao powder. Continue not eating any processed foods.
