Yes me too… Feel I should ask it be played in my funeral…but being Christian. It may not be the right thing to do
Knopfler is, in my opinion, the most masterful guitarist, ever. He makes the guitar sing. In his hands, it comes exceptionally close to having the versatility and timbre of the human voice.

I jwas told on a Thursday by the doctor that my wife would die. She died . It was on the Sunday at 10 PM. I sat with her knowing she would die for 4 days. 49 years of age. She asked me to play this song at her funeral. It brings a lot of memories. Very important and emotional

This song just devastated me when I first heard it. It’s an absolutely perfect take on a Charlie Rich song. The original is presented fairly differently. It reminds me to this day of a long drive from South Dakota to Minnesota back when I was separated from my wife. It’s off such a great album. You will absolutely love it.
Good Lord if that ain't a song.

Mark Knopfler is a genius. Whatever the piece of music, he sets the mood, extends it through the piece and finishes the thought at the end. There is never a misstep. You feel the despair and regret in this. So beautiful and thoughtfully done.

This song is a living breathing entity of its own. It completely speaks for so many of us who no longer even have the strength to try. When I listen to this song.........it breaths for me.
observing the comments on this wonderful song I am reminded that as a Species, humanity is indeed one Spirit. Anyone that cannot feel such music is not human. Yet and still..., how can we be so divided and opposed to one another. This is a great mystery.
Beautiful playing at the end and an outstanding song

65 and facing uncertainty in a 30 year marriage. So tired and weary. I love the woman with every fiber of my being, yet I apparently have been too much of a burden on her. Now we've depleted most of my earnings and my body is literally broken from a serious fall, I feel like I'm being abandoned due to no longer being of any use.

A lot of people think this song was written by Knopfler, but it’s not. It was, in fact, written by Charlie Rich, who recorded “The most beautyfull girl in the world”. But I’m not sure if he wrote that one.
I often been told home is where the heart is but what if your heart is broken your sight is sore and your mind dazzled by the decit and pride that roams the land? Well if that's the case turn to a song and see your not the only one Whew Mark this just pulls the heart strings of a lost home Eden in ruin 🌈🌅🌈😢😢😢
