Glad to see you are both "dressing for the slide, not for the ride".
Yes guys!! Martha you did amazing. Felt the fear and did it anyway 💪 This is a dream of ours so can’t wait to follow you on this new chapter. You know to call or message if you decide to drive the Americas! We know you said it will be a long way in the future but knowing you two, you’ll decide in a heartbeat and be off on a big adventure next year 😍😅

Dear Martha well done young lady for passing your bike test it takes guts and mitch well done to you for keeping calm dude don't go camping any more book a static caravan it wod be more safer and warmer
You did absolutely fantastic Martha. I got my bike license at the age of 54. And thank god I did. It saved my sanity through our severe lockdowns in Melbourne Australia during bloody COVID. You go girl. Chick bikers are awesome. And remember always, practice makes perfect. And mistakes are how we learn. I made many and still do. I loved this video. Good luck guys ❤❤

I started motorcycling in 2004 and I think I was about your age then (Now 20 years older but still very young!) I started with ordinary streetbike. The first Norway trip I did in 2013 and first trip to the Alps in 2014. I was riding both streetbike and endurobike from 2015 until 2021 when I decided to sell my streetbike. Now riding Enduro (or Adventurebike) only. I've had few times a proper training day about Enduro riding and even I'm getting quite often the feedback that I'm a good rider I'm still thinking that I have a lot to learn!! Luckily now I'm slowly starting to be old enough so that I don't think I have to ride all the most amazing (and dangerous) places... I think I will be very happy with quite ordinary rides and places. But one thing I want to say to you is that I hope you will always stay humble about riding! Don't ever think "Now I got this, now I can do anything!" Even the best racing riders don't do that. They always think they have more to learn, they still can be better! Here's one video for you to watch. It's a Nowegian couple about your age. They were trainig quite a lot before they decided to start the adventure. They started their trip from North Cape 3 years ago and this video is from the second day: kzread.info/dash/bejne/l5WsxK-sp9ypdc4.html Motorcycling and adventures with the bike can be totally amazing and I really hope you will have all the great adventures ahead of you!!! Best regards from Finland! GozaMite, the Linesman of TET Finland.
Well done! Took me 5 years on learners to get my full motorbike license so you are doing very well. Getting the license and doing the tests was single handedly the hardest thing I have done. Hope you do a motorbike tour (without the van) like you did in Vietnam. Keep us posted on your adventures and all the best!

That’s the big plan in the future, to go around and travel full time on the motorbikes so stay tuned👀
Every one started at the bottom, experience takes time, you’ll get there, make you a better rider. Safe one
Well done you two, what a lovely couple! I'm from Leicester but now living in sunny South Australia, love hearing you accents, is that East Midlands? So, I've got a van and big adventure bike. The van is quite basic just room to sleep and fit the bike inside. You could, as an option (and what I'd do) is take it in turns driving the van and riding the bike, having just one bike between you. Then you've always got somewhere to sleep and a place to brew up.
Martha. You will be fine. Practice is all you need. Look forward to the upcoming adventures.

Thank you, practise makes perfect🤞🏼
she is doing very very well for not having any experience you just need to relax. just put some music on not to loud and go out by yourself and just drive, after about 1 week you'll notice a big difference in your confidence and will feel a lot better about your abilities.

Thanks, every time I go out my confidence is improving each and every time
The rattle at certain revs sounds like the cam chain tensioner not putting enough pressure on the chain. Not a major problem but needs sorting as it may put unnecessary wear on the cam chain. Worse case scenario the chain could break or jump and that would write the engine off. Hope you get it sorted 👍🏼
This is so exciting, Martha you are doing amazing, looking forward to watching you progress to you full license, and your future adventures. Ride safe both of you.

You guys rock. Traveling on two wheels is the best. Go slow, lots of stops, don't worry about trying to cover distance. Have fun.
Don't worry about what other people think it's your life enjoy it. I've been riding for 45 years and sometimes I ride in walking boots and fingerless gloves. Utube seems to make people very on edge that someone will be making some negative comments. That's the beast that's utube. Relax and do whatever you want to do and enjoy the experience. Film whatever you want to film and stop apologising 😂 Will follow your journey..sounds exciting. I think you will find the sooner you are riding the CRF you will feel much safer on the roads. Groms are great but small wheels and limited suspension have their issues.

Well done Martha! It takes a lot of courage to get on a motorcycle and ride on the road for the first time. But as you grow more confident and the fear of riding recedes, you will begin to appreciate the pleasure of riding and travelling by motorcycle. There will be falls and mishaps along the way but I have no doubt that you will get up and continue. I look forward to seeing you both on two wheels again.

Really happy that I stumbled across your channel while looking for Vietnam travel videos for inspiration whilst planning my own trip! I've binged watched more than 20 of your videos now, from 2am (Singapore time) to 6am and can't wait to watch more tomorrow. As a fairly new rider myself and having done the Hagiang loop, knowing how dangerous riding can be, I don't know if I'll ever feel comfortable in letting my girlfriend ride on her own and even taking her bike license. I reckon I'll be worried sick for her safety all the time. At this point I would be definitely more comfortable with her as my pillion. But someday maybe I'll be finally comfortable enough to encourage her to learn how to ride and I'll definitely use this series to show her that's it's entirely possible for her to learn and eventually go on bike trips with me. Your content is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see more! ❤ from Singapore Alex :)
You are doing fine. I got back into motorbikes in 2020 buying a crf250ralley and also being short (5’6” 29” inseam) I did find that it felt very tall, however you can get a lowering kit for it, takes it down 50mm which may help with confidence. I also took the bike over to Groningen (the Netherlands) where i was working and after 6 hours in the saddle I definitely needed the rest (maybe see if you can get a comfort seat on it if you are doing long days. Wind - on breezy days you will find that if you are overtaken by or overtake a big HGV vehicle the wind will catch you when you are clear, just be mindful. Potholes etc - if there is anything in the road that is a danger, do NOT look at it, concentrate on the line that you want to ride to avoid it because the bike will go where you look. Gear - you do not need all the latest technology, if you get layers, something warm close to the body, a jacket and trousers offering some protection and a lightweight waterproof store away jacket and trousers that you can put over when it is raining. Phone mount - I use quadlock complete with charging head and vibration damper (must have a vibration damper so that you don’t damage the phone camera) also get the weatherproof shroud because strange things happen when riding in the rain. Have a great time

I've done a lot of touring on bikes, and the best advice I can give is to stick with bikes that are physically small enough and comfortable enough for you to ride off road. I reckon Martha is going to struggle a lot on the 300, especially when it's loaded up with kit. The thing is though, you're on the road now! Nothing stopping you doing some touring of the UK as long as you avoid motorways, which is a lot easier than you may think. I knew a woman who toured Scotland on a CBT with full camping gear on a CG125. I would definitely recommend you doing a test trip on the bikes you've got now, especially if you're planning on carrying camping gear. Even if you can get your gear weight under 20kg it completely changes how the bike handles and how easy it is to ride. Also I live pretty close to you by the looks of it, more than happy to come for a ride out and share what litle knowledge I've built up over the years of bike touring/camping. Could even organise a biker subscribers meetup? 😂 Honestly looks like Martha is doing absolutely fine, I had similar niggles when I was new to road bikes, and I'd been riding trials since I was 13. Definitely did better on the CBT than most do who haven't ridden bikes before IMO.

Thank you, we’re going to add the lowering link to the bike and a different suspension kit to get me comfortable on it. I really want to learn off road and the crf will be perfect for that. Thank you, a bikers meet up would be so fun and something we should plan in the spring 🤪
Gotta be honest, as a van guy…I’m jealous!lol 😉 I’d love to do something like that!! The places you can get to and all the tracks and trails you go on will be epic!! So much more freedom with a bike I’d imagine! You absolutely smashed it Martha 👍🏼 fair play, hopefully your confidence will grow with more trips I’ll definitely follow along… I’ve already googled CBT prices and trail bikes whilst watching 😂

I got back from a four year, overland RTW in a 4x4 MAN two years ago. Don't do it for charity, you might need to 'back out', Avoid pressure. Keep plans massively flexible. Light weight bikes, as Nathan of Dorothy's Speedshop, every time. You've travelled so you know: research, dig in and never pay a bribe, use mapsme, ioverlander, Barclays Visa Platinum Travel card (credit), Chris Scott's Overland handbook, pepper spray (Germany).

OMG! How absolutely brilliant! Martha is a superster, she is doing so well. I really wasn't expecting your decision, I thought maybe you'd just be taking the Grom along with the van in future, but you'vemade the best decision ever! I've been riding all my life and it's the best way to travel. I live in Croatia where I host off road riders from all over the world here in the countryside where there are fantastic trails all around. If you do come through Europe on the bikes, please do get in touch and I will happily host you and take you out on the local trails which are amazing. My top tip for Martha? Slow control. Really focus on that and you'll be all good for the difficult manoeveres in the tests com ing up and for off road, slow control is super important for avoiding drops on the rough trails. I'm really excited for you both and totally hooked now on your channel, which I've really been enjoying up until now anyway.

I watch because it’s you not the van life, I enjoy the adventures and this looks like so much fun. Martha looked great for her first few rides out and the idea of a North to South America bike trip will have me hooked. Content was great, not sure what you meant about the noise it’s a bike? I guess you feel you can improve things. Happy watching Martha’s progress until you’re ready for the next big adventure. Your content is special and I hope your audience finds you quickly.

I am downsizing from my caravan to just having my Transit van, I normally have 2 bikes in my transit and tow the caravan but now it will be just one bike in the Transit and I have made up a bed, fitted a small fridge and power station, just the basics, hopefully it will give me more travel options here in Australia. Towing a caravan that is 19’6” and weighs 2500kg is not fun, but to a degree living off a bike can be frustrating at times, cold and wet not fun and extreme heat not fun, but you gotta do what you gotta do, fun is where you find it, motorcycle travel is the best travel but it does have its negative side, battling through bad weather and bad roads make you dig deep, unlike a van when you can just stop and jump in the back to rest or sleep, on a bike you have to keep going , and sometimes that ain’t easy.
Martha your a superstar 😅 you go girl you rode brilliantly….. and while you have no children go and experience everything you can… I absolutely love the pair of ya 😊

My thoughts.. I would keep the van and buy one duel sport bike and rent another one. Travel for a while on the bikes, then travel for a while with the van and a bike on the back. Back and forth for a few months at a time. For me personally, as a viewer, I prefer van content, even though I own a van and a duel sport. My wife and I enjoy your channel. Yes Guys, So having toured loads of Europe the early part following MotoGP with the transporter and R1 then KTM in the back this is right up our street. I would say first trip keep it fairly short maybe the Mosel near Cochem in Germany, there’s loads of campsites next to the river and lovely safe ride along the river up to Koblenz. Keep it pretty simple at the start then you could build up your the Dolomites where you can park up very cheaply and pull the bikes out. You know the roads as you’ve been there. We follow a Dutch woman ( Itchy Boots) she built up to some ridiculous journeys and you might get a few camera tips of her. Good luck and most of all be safe. Geordie, Kate, Dylan and Dutch x

Thanks so much. We love itchy boots and hope to try and make videos as good as hers one day🤞🏼 we’ll be reaching out as we go along the journey so it would be good to get any places you recommend written down. Thank you!

Keep it simple for a while, If you do Cochem along the Mosel you can actually ride up to the castle around the back and it’s a great view from up there. As you will have a bike trl It might be worth paying for campsites to start with, there are loads along the river Mosel, Zell is worth a look too it’s a lovely area and you can pretty much get very close all the way on the autobahn, from there you can drop down the Rhine and so on as you prob already know. Good luck we are looking forward to your bike adventures. Use your mirrors before turning Martha I almost got wiped out like that once but generally it’s safe as, when you step up to the knobblies be careful as the tires won’t have grip when it’s wet, easy on the front brake. I’m sure Loads of people will tell you this but I had to figure it out like most the hard way. Good luck guys x
Very cool plan, and well done Martha for smashing the theory and CBT! Loads of practice and you'll get your full license no problem. Can't wait to see more of you two bikers, it is such a great way to travel.

Hi guy’s you’ve done well Martha 🎉 congratulations on passing so far, I will endeavour to keep following you both because I feel like I know you both now and you feel like family lol, but to be honest iv never been a fan of motor bikes I did have one when I first left school many years ago now until I passed my car test, and the reason why I followed you and subscribe to your channel is because of van life 🚐 I fully understand about needing to jazz up the channel to keep it interesting but I worry you might lose subscribers when you sell your van and go full time onto bikes 🏍️ 🏍️ but heck what do I know lol 😂 I wish you both well with your new adventures and safe travels x

Just found your channel. Well done on doing your CBT. I have a campervan and I trailer my Motorbikes. Campervans and Motorbikes, The BEST combination. Good luck with the adventures, I'll be watching.
Absolutely brill idea, try not to sell the van. Martha well done you, you really made that look easy I'm tempted to try myself. The New Mr & Mrs Itchy Boots. 🤭

This was a fun video! But it seems like all your videos are fun Martha and Mitch. I don’t think most of us care about the audio quality or the video quality or the bibs & bobs of problems, just go with the flow & try to enjoy yourself. Yes definitely someone also said it: don’t try to apologize so much. I love your stuff! 😊

When I saw you guys were building out a van, I started watching your videos, but whilst waiting for new uploads I watched the Vietnam series and really loved it. Your bike trip made the videos seem ever changing so I can only see a positive coming out of this. May all your plans come into fruition 🙌🏻

Martha, You do get blown around on a little bike, once you get a heavier one you'll not notice the wind as much :) Love the idea of more options for travel videos:)
very excited for you both, more adventures the better and if Bikes is the way to go then I cant wait.
