Is it just me or is Shawn basically revolutionizing the entire mousetrap industry simply by filming tests ? Just imagine how R&D went with mouse traps before there were motion activated night vision trail cameras, and before shawn decided to use them in the testing of mouse traps. Not that he's necessarily the 1st, but nobody else has tested as many as him or invented any along with testing basically everything. Before they would have had to just check a trap in the morning to see if it caught anything, but they'd never know how many it didn't catch and why. There would always be some kind of design flaw you just never knew about.

The little shake at the end is a nice touch. If the mouse was still holding on at that point, I don't think it would matter, but you might as well cover all of your bases while you're at it!

After the gravity-driven self-resetting plank trap from a few months ago that used a small paddle at the end to trigger the plank, an electro-mechanical dunker looks like an unnecessary complication.

nice design and maybe this will work with mice. but in theory there are more rats here and they are very smart. and they are rarely caught. I have not yet caught a single mouse or rat with such a classic teeter-totter. had even dug the bucket in such a way that they had to put in less effort.

They need to eat a lot more often than we do or else they’ll die. It’s not natural for them to be caught in a random small space for an entire night without food. Unnatural circumstances yeild unnatural behavior. People stuck in elevators do weird things too.
