Apparently a deep bucket with seed is a good trap too

I believe the mice jump in also because they see a mouse inside the bucket. I have had families of mice do that.
Putting food at the bottom of the bucket... genius! The mice trap themselves!

I'm going to patent that.
Hi-tech is no match for the good ol' "wait for the mice to jump in and trap themselves" trap
Is it just me or is Shawn basically revolutionizing the entire mousetrap industry simply by filming tests ? Just imagine how R&D went with mouse traps before there were motion activated night vision trail cameras, and before shawn decided to use them in the testing of mouse traps. Not that he's necessarily the 1st, but nobody else has tested as many as him or invented any along with testing basically everything. Before they would have had to just check a trap in the morning to see if it caught anything, but they'd never know how many it didn't catch and why. There would always be some kind of design flaw you just never knew about.
1:58 Amazing, a contactless mouse trap!
The little shake at the end is a nice touch. If the mouse was still holding on at that point, I don't think it would matter, but you might as well cover all of your bases while you're at it!
Did the last mouse out of the bucket have a botfly larva? It looked like it had a lump in its body.

They often do.
I like how the trap shakes one more time to shake off any mouse hanging onto the trap before setting itself again for the next mouse.
After the gravity-driven self-resetting plank trap from a few months ago that used a small paddle at the end to trigger the plank, an electro-mechanical dunker looks like an unnecessary complication.
Shawn: ✋ Mice: Here comes the hand to throw us into the bucket. 👀
Those mice are basically pets at this point

your bucket trap with feed at the bottom is the best trap...no moving parts no batteries no reset...

Another awesome video Shawn! Thanks!!
Love your videos, Shawn
I like the "shake" at the end.
Having a funnel edge tapering in toward the entrance would also help stop the mice from grabbing the back edge. Also, today is Friday...
Good work Crawdaddy.
The last mouse released was like yeah whatever
Me watching. Also me .... What 3d printed trap must i print?! 😂
You accidentally built a better mouse trap 😂😂😂
Another great video Shawn. In the hundreds of your videos that I've watched, why is it you never get a mixed species caught? I don't think I've ever seen a catch of both deer mice and house mice in a multi catch trap.

Watch a few more of his videos, it happens. 🙂
Those pet mice never have a chance lol Free fall 2, trap 1
I can't help but feel like if the drop was slower it might work better since it doesn't leave the mice suspended in the air.. but maybe that was tested for 🤷🏿♀️

The connection to the bucket seems flimsy. Those tabs that go down over the edge of the bucket should be longer.
Hey Shawn. I bought some dizzy dunker traps. I've had a trap set on a 5 gallon bucket for over a week now with no catches. I'm doing what the directions say on the label. Why am I not catching any mice?

Bought 4 to give to farmer friends. All are catching them in 7 gallon pails with water. Is your pail short? They could get out. Does the peanut butter show it has been eaten some? Are you sure you have mice there? PEBCAK error?

Cool
Smear a lil peanut butter 4 to 5 inches down a 5 gal bucket. 8 or 9 inches of water in the bucket. All you need
nice design and maybe this will work with mice. but in theory there are more rats here and they are very smart. and they are rarely caught. I have not yet caught a single mouse or rat with such a classic teeter-totter. had even dug the bucket in such a way that they had to put in less effort.
Yo bro super 👌
It’s Friday.
that bald mouse is awesome
Killing and eating each other? Sure are vicious lil varmints.

They need to eat a lot more often than we do or else they’ll die. It’s not natural for them to be caught in a random small space for an entire night without food. Unnatural circumstances yeild unnatural behavior. People stuck in elevators do weird things too.

Humans will do this when stranded on a mountain top in the snow. Look it up. Also, mice don’t kill for a cute little trophy, but we do. 🤔

You know how long he's been doing wilderness stuff right? He will be that full of antibodies that I pity any bug that tries to attack him. I am sure he would not have lasted this long if he did not know how to wash his hands.
