as Germany, you NEED to send volunteers to win. Like when the balkan war kicked off, you should have aided Bulgaria. a Balkan front really weakens Germany in the war. same with Spain, Italy too if you can afford it.

If the Ottomans join against the Bulgarians winning the 4th Balken war is nearly impossible for Bulgaria even with your volunteers. Even if the Ottomans don't join it's incredibly difficult to win the war playing as Bulgaria let alone with an AI Bulgaria

Nah it can be helpfull, but you dont need volunteers. What you need is Stability. Like how did he have 0 Stab in 1939.

I did send volunteers to Bulgaria in my game, and those traitors joined Russia anyway. The only upside was that Romania and Serbia didn’t join the Russians, so there wasn’t an actual front with Bulgaria.

I'd rather have my position be greatly weakened. What's the point of preparing for so long, jus to win instantly? I'd prefer to face overwhelming odds and win, than to fight a pathetic opponent and basically do nothing for the rest of the game.

You can easily have half your army committed to foreign adventures before you overcome black monday and start mobilizing. Italy in particular I've always found to be an excellent opportunity to decimate the syndie airforces because you can send volunteers to both sicily and the pope.

ok I finished watching the video (may as well comment again for the algorithms): at the start of the Second Weltkrieg, you get a debuff "Lacking Preparedness" depending on factors like how well you did in the card game (debuff bigger if over 150% debt, for example), and what military focuses you didn't do. I guess yours was like -35% defense or something. So that's something to keep in mind - together with all the other stuff! You said you didn't expect to read a novel...it's really just the first few years. But if you do everything just right, the game's a breeze. GERMANY TIP: SPD path gets the best army buffs

@@weierlowe9891 In short, though I'm not exactly sure of the terminology and stuff • The Imperial German Army staffed by conservatives allied with the political right-wing [insert something about Prussia and monarchical traditions, supremacy of the nobility], who are fine with the way things are, except they don't fit changes in modern warfare, which makes them inefficient and stuff • Schleicher pursues army supremacy and whatnot, the Wehrstaat, and allies with totalitarian-minded officers (die frunde--whatever their name was idk) • SPD ends up allying with the Reformisten faction of the military. They don't really like each other, but the officers also don't have anyone else to jump on a train with. Think of it this way: we all know WW2 German military officers, how they were able to command, where they came from...based on the ranks of the Weimar Reichswehr, their advancement was only possible due to abolition of the German monarchies and the restrictive, reactionary institutions associated with. From a gameplay standpoint also makes sense: SPD is supposed to be the hardest path, it makes sense to give the player some payoff for that

I played to 47 for the first time! It’s really fun, it feels much more balanced, it’s a good challenge and it feels so rewarding navigating through the mechanics and democratizing the empire and mittleuropa. Worthy of 1.0

I'm personally quite alright with reading lore (read all the progress reports and the political lore of the interwar years and stuff) and events and tooltips and stuff, and man, keeping the SPD government, winning the card game, getting all the constitutional focuses, etc - the endgame felt so good. It's okay to not have it perfectly on your first attempt though!

i got -19% preparedness on 2nd weltkrieg but pretty much did that, minus the constitutional stuff because those resolve after the war, what was your modifier if you remember?

@@twentysecondnomad8177 I delayed the war as best I could and was rushing those preparedness focuses and to do the decision, and the final debuff was an insignificant -5%, which the AI saw and wasn't attacking too much

There’s an option in the game rules to disable the Black Monday card game

Hey if you want to try this again, the path you chose (the SPD), is the hardest one by far, I had success with Schleiner, you have to deal with the Ruhr strike at the beginning of the game lees efficiently than you did (weirdly unintuitive and you can check specifics with the path guide), during war sit with really good infantry (I personally went grand battle plan just for more entrenchment but you could probably get away with less), and just hold until you get rid of your debuffs, make the most quality fighters you can and just focus on one air zone on interception (I think it still trades better?) And slowly out industry France, then Britain, then Russia, making really good tanks once you have mills to spare, also radar was key for winning the air war for me. Hope this helps and I look forward to seeing you try again!

SPD is overwhelmed as first but its one of the strong German route, DKP is actually quite mediocre but hasn't try Schleiner route yet (personally dislike him lol).

When i first did this i didnt realize how the card game worked so black monday lasted until....41

I only recently had had beaten my germany playthrough of Kaiserreich as the SPD (My first playthrough is always of the most popular party at the start of the game), ive had a few attempts because I kept doing stuff wrong for the 2WK, but it was a knowledgeable experience (literally on my first attempt the turks took control because i forgot the demand for action timer). I had a whole army of medium tanks to be my breakthrough army (also DU is all about manoeuvre warfare doctrine, i believe was stated on the progress reports) and high level forts across the frances border. Only thing i was abit disappointed by was the mitteleuropa focus tree and agenda's breaking, couldnt do the one agenda that allows me to progress down the tree. Overall very fun, cant wait to try another ideology of Germany, probably Social Conservatives as they are the second highest ideology

Alex, You should try this again, but read the Focus tree first, there are lots of ways of ending the Black Monday Crisis early' and of preparing your military for war. Germany is now a real challenge compared to the original mod.

I'm not done with my Germany playthrough as WK2 only started at the moment i'm writing this. However so far i've been doing good I could say. I chose the SWR coalition path ("the Conservative Revolution") and was rather unlucky in th Reichstag mechanics as I only got in power in late summer 1936 as opposed to my (short-lived) first try before the bug fixes patches where I got in power in merely 3 months. After this rough start, I quickly got back on tracks while fixing the Black Monday issue. I'd say i got luckier this game because i managed to get debt under 150% during the whole game (this later on affects the negative modifier you get when the 2nd Weltkrieg starts). Meanwhile, I didn't have to do much during the Ruhrkampf minigame. I stacked some PP and did the foci of the political branch first and foremost as they prove to be quite useful for a later minigame : Hugenberg and the DVLP conference. I had to thwart Hugenberg's ambitions at becoming Chairman of the DVLP and if failing to do so, prevent him from splitting the party otherwise the coalition would be doomed.The foci i already did allowed me to sway more pary members to my cause and away from Hugenberg. I proceeded to win the conference easily with that preparation done. After Black Monday was won in early 1938 I switched to the military branch and reformed it along the Altgardisten's (Old Guard) views before the Weltkrieg which began in april 1940 in my game.

Now i understand what the Devs meant with "The Democratic Path is the hardest", because some People really do not want to read what they should do and instead just click on anything that looks good. The Coalition Path is real fun if you try to understand the different mechanics.

All you need to do to beat Black Monday is take the focuses in the Forbidden One branch, allowing you to summon Exodia and end the crisis instantly

My first playthrough would have been just like yours if it was on speed five like yours. But I took my time reading the politics and in early '41 the spooky war was won.

I have always seen that you can play as far as you want in the game with almost 0 problems with speed, when I play, by 1943 my game takes 30 seconds to get past a day, is there a way to fix this?

I won the first time, beat the black monday game with around 180% debt, progressive party succeeded, i kept the coalition strong and chose to spend political power on every option that came up in events. i had -20% modifier at the beginning of the war and just build rows and rows of forts otherwise france would just push me, but i found that it was the allied divisions that could hold better against them. i broke through around the low countries and led several follow up encirclements following the northern french coastline before sending all my tanks on a beeline for vp's. was easier after that I dedicated a lot of attention to volunteers during the chinese civil war and the american civil war to stop the commies

yeah I played this update as well and im in 1944 the bastards that are the entente have only been able to somewhat invade Mexico while ukraine and I (Germany) have taken Paris, almost gotten to London and such else (with also the help of russia.)

I play Germany 3 times to get the right strategy to win so I realise that you need to get good tanks and sent volunteers to make the French weaker and sent the puppets troops in the eastern front

In the few months I've had fantastic fun playing S-P and Australasia, but playing the recently updated Ireland felt EXACTLY like this. Far too many lore bombs, far too many hidden events, far too many hidden mechanics, and far too many focuses locked off without warning until you hover over them and search the tree to find the relevant FT. Someone worked very hard to add all this content, but it feels like they got lost in the sauce and forgot people play the mod for reasons other than pure, constant exposition.

The Kaiser tried to save the Empire, then it was destroyed.

I have gotten my sh*t kicked in with the new update. I love it

Prevent the left (DU) and the right from forming a coalition with a majority, then during the Ruhrkampf stay between 25% and 75% tension untill you unlock a special focus to strengthen your own powers

Honestly I prefer Kaiserredux, at least in that mod you don’t have to play cards to end the black Monday. So the only advice I can give you since the mods have many differences is to use your puppets’ divisions in the east to create a wall of men against the Russians and in the west make very good divisions and after you get out of the crisis invade the UK and from there strike at France. For the French you just need to create a ton of fronts to split their armies and then push

I think I'm going to have to unsubscribe. I'm just too frustrated with every single video involving Alex not reading any events or looking at the focus tree, never doing research, and constantly having unused factories. The videos just aren't entertaining anymore. Half of them are just Alex barely even playing the game and instead constantly talking about how he's overwhelmed and confused while the game continues running at five speed in the background.

Maybe it's just little stuff that only bugs me. I guess it doesn't really matter, the bottom line is I just don't find his vids entertaining anymore.

"Super events" KR has never had any of those and the regular events that are in the game are VERY relevant to the country you're playing as they explain the country's parties, politics, and other important information while also giving a player things to read such as flavor events that flesh out the world of KR if they choose so. The minigames aren't just filler, they add interesting mechanics and things for players to do in the mostly boring time before the war, the devs aren't trying to ruin the game you and Alex just have a skill issue and can't read.

The economic crisis minigame is something that would work better in a vic3 type game. Hoi is supposed to be about warfare and army-centric economy, not running a functioning country

Germany isnt weak when you know how the new mechanics work. Germanys economy is extremely strong with all the buffs to production efficiency cap.
