    To be honest, I'm done with smart watches that need to be constantly connected to smartphones. I just wanted a watch that can count steps and have the functionality of GShock. The feature GShock in this video is a modern type of GShock and I'm more into the vintage one. Anyway, nice review and that one nice looking and functionality watch. Thanks for the video.

    To make changes to the watch then yeah you gotta be connected to your phone but thats it. I don't have to keep mine connected. It prolongs the battery life too not having it connected. I just got mine on Jan 30th and I'm only down two bars (I didn't charge the battery to the "HIGH" setting though).

    Have the exact same watch, and i love it so much. Keeps me active as i dont like to see the low daily step count and is well accurate in multiple sport tracking. The bright green just pops when outdoors and the watch is feather light and rugged at same time. the app however is buggy specially when there is new update.

    Hello! I bought this watch and I think it has a problem with solar charging The watch came with 3/5 battery lines, I exposed it to the sun for a total of approximately 8 hours and it did not charge at all. Should I have left it longer or is that how much solar is charged? In the manual it is specified that it does not charge until high, but I think one line should have charged more. Thank you

    From the comparisons I've seen so far the GSHOCKS are still way behind Garmin and other fitness watches. I'm not in the market for a fitness watch, I just need a step tracker and my GBD800 does that job just fine. This watch seems to beat others in durability, to be expected from a gshock, and battery life is good compared to competitors, but it comes up short in every other area. They're getting better all the time, but if you are looking for a fitness watch the competitors still have a leg up. Also, the Casio Watch app is pure garbage, literally worthless.

  • @DWtuna

    @DWtuna

    My thoughts exactly. It seems like Casio is decades behind in terms of software tech compared to companies like Garmin. At a comparable price to watches like Garmin Instinct 2, GBD-H2000 is yet another disappointment. Some fans say that we should give Casio a break as they are latecomers in smartwatch category, but when you are charging 400-500 bucks for a product, you'd better deliver.

    @@DWtuna I love he Casio G-Shock design but on the software side it is just abysmal. Why did they bother to build an App, just extend the partnership with Polar and let us sync the data into the polar App. This way Casio wouldn't have to play catch up with the rest of the health market.

    The stop watch does not show milliseconds. I am 35 and this is the first stop watch I am using witch does not show ms. Absurd. It does not show tide phases like very cheap G-Shocks are able to. I have not found an option to set the time via atomic clock radio synchronization signals. And it does not show water depth. So no, it does not have EVERYTHING. The notification function is absurd. It uses simple notification access permission on Android. Each time my podcast apps updates the remaining time in the notification menu the watch also shows a new notifaction. So I had to turn them off. Also if my phone's battery drops under 16% battery power I receive I new notification. This is annoying af. I don't know. This watch has so much potential and it is very sad how few features it has. I wish it would be possible to program own apps / widgets for this watch.

    Had to resync with phone everyday and took hours app is junk..2 big to sleep with for analysis.. functions are ok but overpriced compared to Garmin.. returned it and bought a forerunner 955 solar and love it...also I noticed that the Bluetooth icon is blinking in 95% of your video so yours wasn't synced either..battery was good and looks good but resyncing everyday for hours was a deal breaker....

    In order to make a fair comparison, please let me know when Garmin can make a watch that can withstand as much abuse as a Master of G. Casio is far behind on the smart features, but they're lightyears ahead in terms of actual watchmaking, quality and reliability than any smartwatch brand.
