There is a trekking mode after you update..you need to ‘able’ it on ‘display category setting’

Hey Jim, the hourly chime, for me, is important when I'm working on stuff that I really need to focus on. The hourly mark keeps me focused on getting things done within X amount of hours, it makes it real or I become more aware of the time instead of letting it just pass and waste that time. I dunno why it is a thing for me, but it is. So I turn the hourly chime on purpose when it is time to do focused work. At night I turn it off cause my wife hates it haha.

Me also turn on hourly chimes for for productivity monitoring Open "Casio Watches" app.. Find Your "Alarm" setup then Turn on the "Signal"

I wish, Casio had also included a simple GPS trackback function (breadcrumbs).... but they still refuse to add this. Casio never fails to disappoint. Unfortunately this update does nothing for me with my H2000. I will stick to my Garmin.😞 Thank you Jim, for the detailed video review! 👍

Yup. Garmin listens to their customers and loves feed back and incorporates it into their watches. Casio just shrugs and does their own thing. I have the new rangeman and it is an upgrade for Casio. But I also have a Garmin tactix. Anything serious like long hikes away from cell services etc. I’m talking the Garmin.

Agreed. My Garmin Instinct kicks ass on anything Casio. And I've been a Casio fanboi since forever.

There was an update for the Rangeman too. I wish Casio would list the changes on the app.

Excellent update. Big fan, tbh

There is an option Display Category Settings in the phone app, go in there and toggle Trekking mode and send settings to the watch. So, it will appear on your gbdh2000

Great video, especially your reactions. But the software is very slow on the phone and the watch too. Casio must do a lot of work. I still prefer the mudman, and the mudmaster. If you want all the smart functions, garmin is the way to go. But the Russian military is jamming the GPS signal and sometimes even the cellular network is having difficulty to connect, so I have a map, and the mudmaster on my wrist, when hiking. Sometimes the basic stuff is better. But it's good to know that you didn't bricked your watch and the update was successful. But your reaction was loud, my dog was looking at my phone, what is happening 😁😁😁

I love the look of the GBD-H2000, but I don't think it does enough better than many other Casios to make me go for it.

It’s good if you want that heart rate monitor. Otherwise you’re better off with a classic g-Shock.

*Sir, I didn’t ever think that you’d pair one your Casios to your phone via Bluetooth, to the Casio app. I’m genuinely surprised by this one.* 😏

The update which your doing now is the actual update which came out in December....for the added "tracking" and "other activity" functions which were added this week to the GBD H2000, I did not need to carry out another update....It was an app update only and then was just a transfer of settings to the watch :D

A hourly chime isn't really a deal breaker for me, because with so many watches in the house that would be a mess, a lot of noise when every watch start to scream....plus a pendulum chime wall clock which is really annoying. Even though I got a couple bluetooth Casios, I don't think I'll have to deal with the update ever....I connected those watches initially just to see does it work and that's it, no more....I want independent watch without any notifications, if I want to see a notifications why not to use a device which is built for it? (a smartphone)...and if I need a fitness tracking I would use my daughter's fitness tracker which I'm never using because I hate it. By the way, Casio could include a possibility to change the screen from negative to positive this time, maybe improve the compass pointer, not to waste the time with some ''activity functions''....with the possibility to change the screen from negative to positive I would buy GBD200 straight away, it would be almost perfect modern G shock.

Can someone tell me? (

*Shoot, I’m still waiting for Casio to introduce an update for the GBX-100 to have an hourly time signal. 🤦🏾‍♂️*

Turn it off and turn it on again always seems to work when I update my GWGB1000 when I finally work out how to do it when someone out there in the watch community told me I had the font to large on my phone it only took a few seconds it will be good to see the results of the atomic clock and Bluetooth timing accuracy also I wonder if the gps my be less accurate because the signal is coming from a satellite which has to pick the signal up from the ground and back down again but it is all done at the speed of light but if it was not for us inquisitive boys we would not have got to the moon

@@ABHINANDAN272you do understand that the 2X lasts just as long (if not longer) than the rangeman. Rangeman smartwatch time is two months. If you make the setting last match on the 2X (mainly disable HR only for activities) it goes to 71 days. Garmin just defaults to more features.

Garmin is overpriced garbage, and I dumped my instinct 2x for this and have not looked back.

Ill never buy a g-shock again after finding out it comes with only a few languages, mine not included. A cheap (100 euro) g-shock is good to beat up at work but an expansive one for edc, actually wearing it, no. Ill try to sell my full metal gmw b5000.

That's a good point! With all this app integration how hard would it be to add more languages? Casio should do that! What language do you speak, btw?

@@JimKinkade Romanian. My english is pretty good but i want my language for a 400 euros watch. On a smartwatch (Samsung or Garmin) i have the day of the week, date and month in romanian language and order. But i admit, the durability of a G-Shock is insane.

I have multiple time from past 4-5 hrs but still unable to update to latest version update. This watch seems to be not a good worth to buy and it’s waste of time and also money

Make Sure Your Phone have plenty of space on memory I have the same problem on My Brand new GPR H1000, I found out My Phone only has < 5 GB space left.. So I Installed "Casio Watches" app on My Tablet instead.. the update process worked like a champ and don't forget to connect Your Watch with charging cable during the process
