You need to tighten up your cam chain adjuster on the back left side of the motor. I had an Xr 100 that made the same noise and as soon as I tightened that up it gained compression and the noise went away.

I think migs scared himself on the 2t bc he never rides it

I just got this same bike. This engine is known for having very loud valves

If I'm running a 4 stroke that has sat for a long time, first thing is oil change and oil down the cylinder. Then I will mix the gas 80:1 and run that through it. Then it's good to go after one more oil change.

Adjust your valves, oil change, and when kicking a bike over start at the top of the stroke and now half way

Btw you can use water to wash the tank just leave it in the sun for a bit and it’s good it won’t hurt nothin

I have a ttr 125 L and i put rings in it at the beginning of the summer and it has about the same amount of Compression

Do an oil change, top end kit, rehone the cylinder, check valves and cams. You should be good to go.

That’s good compression for a trail bike I’m pretty sure. They are air cooled low compression bikes it’s normal

Thts not good at all especially when it's a 4 stroke, I have a 2017 Crf125fb and the compression is hard compared to my 2002 Cr125 with 4 hours on it

my pitbike does the same... i can only shift up to 2nd when stopped... and my dad's streetbike only shift's into first when you're not riding... so you can shift straight into nutreal on a red light and stuff no matter how high/hard you pull up on the shifter... so it's fine i guess

mine engine ticked like that and I rode it for months and it was fine. Just change the oil every so often.

The compression is not low on that bike thats how all those 125's are i have a drz125 thats is exactly the same starts on first kick and runs mint

You should put wd40 in the oil to get rid of the valve tick

Had a ttr 125 that I could start by hand if I really tried to

Use an fuelfilter to clear out the tank instead of taking your time to rinse it

6:40, turns petcock up and sirens come on. 6:44 turns petcock off and sirens turn off. 🚨

dubefusion ktm purposely makes they’re trail bike 2 strokes with low compression for east starting

Don't rev the bike let it sit for like 30 minutes an check everything after I hate when you do that it's been sitting for 4 yrs you could mess something up by doing that

My drz makes the same ticking sound and it's good I've been riding it pretty much everyday since like April but it has way more power than your klx but then again it has been jetted

Well the previous owner kicked it over a few times a year and i cleaned the carb and it started 2nd kick listen TOMOS from slovenia is yugoslavian quality

Good thing it’s not a ttr

With as much wd40 as you put in the carb thats why it didnt start up quicker.

never use WD40 to “lube” anything up.it will make it rust so much.use grease.use WD40 when theres dirt and stuff in your pegs or clutch,brake level.you should have put fresh oil in before though even though its 1 test ride its bad for the bike.good work though keep it up

Martin no its water based so it will create rust,i though i could use it as grease to lube up bearings but everytime i did the bearings would blow up because they would rust up

That’s an old klx 140 with a klx 125 sticker on it

It took so many kicks because you left the choke on and kicked it a bunch flooding the bike. Next time kick it twice with the choke on

Also you might need to tune your bike

Next time you get a bike that sits for a long time pour 2 stroke gas down the cylinder for lubrication

It wont mess with the gas station plastics, hell it doesn't even melt them. It can dry out rubber o rings though.
