The new 2025 Toyota Camry review // The mid-size sedan king gets better!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the new 2025 Toyota Camry mid-size sedan. The 2025 Toyota Camry is all new and comes exclusively with a hybrid powertrain! The 2025 Toyota Camry is designed and assembled in North America. It comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with the 5th generation Toyota Hybrid system matched to an eCVT. FWD models get a combined 225 horsepower and AWD models 232 horsepower.
Toyota says this new 2025 Toyota Camry has a reengineered suspension, SE and XSE models have a sport tuned Macpherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension. The braking system has also been updated for balanced handling and comfort.
The new 2025 Toyota Camry looks sharp, more modern, sportier and sleeker than the outgoing model. The hammerhead front fascia gives it a unique and clean look.
The 2025 Toyota Camry interior definitely gets an upgrade, Toyota focused on making the Camry cabin look more upscale, clean and modern. It comes with some great standard features and plenty of updated technology including a standard 7” digital driver display, 8” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a wireless charger.

@@z1az285: It's just different points along the spectrum. Plugin hybrids have NO range anxiety. They let people who don't drive a lot (like me, being retired) have pure BEV more 99% of the time (and thus burn almost NO gasoline). But they don't have the MASSIVE battery and the service issues (like having to go to the dealer) that BEV's do. For me, it's an HEV or a PHEV next time -- and it will depend on what's available -- not on being married to either one. But it will be a LONG time before everyone can have an affordable BEV, so alternatives are good for consumers.

@@rogergeyer9851 i agree with your points about plug ins wrt no range anxiety plus being able to drive for 40 miles or so purely on battery charge (using the prius as an example), however i read an article that indicated plug ins on average have less reliability (more service repairs / dealer visits on average) than ICE/ hybrid or EVs. Now the study didn't distinguish between brands and im sure some like toyota wouldn't have as many issues as say Hyundai or BMW, but be that as it may many hybrids seem to have found the sweet spot both from a performance/range/ reliability POV. We will see, ultimately battery tech is improving all the time and who knows? lets see what happens.

I had a 2013 Toyota Camry LE as a daily driver, and I loved it. It was great on gas, fun to drive, great on the freeway or in town driving. It's 16 inch tires are full of air and you'll notice a smother ride as compared to thin 19 or 20 inch tires which you'll feel every rut and pothole on the road and are more expensive to replace. The 16 inch tires are inexpensive to replace, and so are the light bulbs. This car is perfect for most people who go to and from work everyday, run errands, weekend trips this Camry is your little work hose. It's a nice looking car and I'd buy one if I didn't own a Toyota Tacoma right now. You can't beat it.

The fact that you can get the level of performance it delivers while sipping fuel is an extremely attractive compromise that only a well designed hybrid can provide. Throw in AWD and Toyota's reliability and you can see why this Camry can easily keep, even increase, its lead at the top of the sales charts.

I think the refresh looks much better than the outgoing model, especially at the rear where the odd black slashes are no more. A bit confused by the “black Softex” comment when you show a light upholstery version almost immediately which is what I would take if available.

Not really. The US prices on Camry hybrids were a good $25K or more to start several years back AND didn't have some of the things included in the base version. This is more car for the money, ESPECIALLY given what inflation was in recent years. I sense political whining here vs. an actual issue. Covid was worse due to Trump's incompetence. So don't forget to thank him.

Hey guys. Good review like usual. Since you quote prices in USD and CND s it possible you can quote MPG in imperial gallon for Canadian drivers? Maybe a question for your Coffee Questions and Cars episode? For example 5.1 liters per 100 klm is 55.39 miles per imperial gallon...Yes/no? By the way I'm currently getting 5.2 liters per 100 klm's with my 2023 Venza in the city. That's not using eco mode and a lot of times using sport mode. I have learned a few tricks to get the best mileage out of my hybrid but consider myself an average driver, not slow or super aggressive. Previously owned a Rav4 Hybrid as well. Some tricks are how you use the climate control and even cruise control at say 80 KPH. I find using cruise at that speed it won't go into EV mode. At highway speeds it won't go into EV mode that's why usually a hybrid is better in the city. Interesting to see the Camry getting the same at highway speeds, very impressive. PS...I don't get near 5.2 in the winter but all vehicles loose a fair bit in the winter and even EV's loose a lot of range in the winter.😉

You're ON the INTERNET. So you can't do a simple imperial gallon conversion, given you're concerned about CANADA? Really? I googled it in 10 seconds to type it in and get a LOT of consistent hits. An imperial gallon is 1.2 US gallons (VERY close to that). They don't seem to teach a LOT of things in modern schooling.

Not likely for a hybrid. Hybrids are all about efficiency for very high mileage. Also, you start playing those games, and the price goes up a lot. Maybe Lexus will go that direction and charge massively for it. An example of why I never fooled with Lexus, considering the competence and durability of the Toyota line.

Another great review! I said it on Instagram, that I've been waiting for this one. Thank you for always including alternatives to consider. For the LIFE OF ME, I cannot understand why the Honda Accord will not offer a heated steering wheel in the USA. I think that would be my top choice, but no heated steering wheel is a deal breaker! I'm still going between a smaller SUV or sedan. The Cadillac CT5 and XT4 are on my list as well. If you had a budget of 40k, new or lightly used what would be your choice, Cadillac CT5, XT4, Volvo S90, XC60, this Camry or some other option/options? I live in New England, need AWD, would like heated seats, ventilated seats, a heated steering roof and pano roof if possible, although the roof can be a regular sunroof. That's not a deal breaker for me. Thank you! Love you guys and respect your opinions and reviews so much.

It's funny how different people are, re deal breakers. For me, heated seats and steering wheels are nice if the price is right (and if I have NO license fees, etc). But I always have gloves in my winter coat pocket. For me a deal breaker is having to go to the dealer for service, as seems to be the case for MANY BEV's. So the hybrid seems optimal plus at a low price point, sipping fuel, and I don't drive lots of miles anyway.
