Hello LPK! I am EXCITED about the R3. I currently have an XR500, for the past month maybe longer I’ve been having issues with internet interruptions. The last 2 weeks it’s been really bad. Netgear tech says my xr500 is losing connection with my netgear cm1000 modem, specifically losing connection because it can’t see the MAC address on from my modem. My xr500 is way past any warranty so I’d have to pay netgear to fix this issue, tech says he has to manually program my xr500. I tried to do that myself but haven’t figured it out yet. But seeing this video on the R3 has breathed life into my gaming attitude. Friday I will pre order the R3. Also your other video/s for dumasOS has really helped me. Thank you, brother.

I've been going back and forth on getting a new router for the last few months to replace my XR500, as Netgear is just lagging on updating. I'd spend time reading and looking at different routers, but it was exhausting and I couldn't make a decision on which to buy. Now, @LowPingKing posted about the R3 the other day... I just pre-ordered it this morning. Thank you LowPingKing for the info!

Now it’s public, I tested the prototypes from both Qualcomm and Broadcom and they went for the Broadcom router. However I passed on testing the final version as I just don’t have the time. My only issue is I wish they would use licensed drivers for WiFi but hey ho. It is what it is.

They're shipping is pretty fast although it is the holidays. Took about two business days to get mine.

😢 sadly it’s missing 1 key component a 2.5GB WAN connection to speed test and measuring out my qos correctly. My current download from my modem to my router I have now is around 1,460 Mbps!

That's crazy fast! Would still be worth it for the Geofilter.

I’ve used Netduma since R1 , there software is excellent and great GUI , however I had to stop due to poor Wi-Fi and went with Asus GT-AX6000, looks like Duma are back in the game with this model if the Wi-Fi is good ,I play wired but rest of house needs Wi-Fi obviously,be interesting to see how good it is now

I'm really impressed 👍 this is by far the easiest router to use! The stuff they're doing here is going to make gamers incredibly happy.

@@LowPingKing good to hear, in my house it’s 2 story’s. But my wifi has a hard time getting through my walls. My house isn’t even that big. The R2s signal wasn’t as good as the stock router that comes with my IP. The original router range would make it to my back door ring camera. But the R2s 2.4 wifi doesn’t reach it very well. Had to get an extender for my ring cameras.

I have question for you , I have previously used R1,Xr500,700,R1 , I found these routers hardware ok but XR Netgear support was poor -R2 was poor , I currently use Asus GT-AX6000 which is powerful,do you think would be worth an upgrade over the Asus as it’s Wi-Fi is very good also ….thank you

The R3 is really good so far. Way more streamlined. All the features are way easier to use.

@@sharpz44Asus use official drivers so WiFi will be better, have all the WiFi 6 subsets that’s available for the chipset. The question is what is latency like from client to wan and probably the Asus will be better. Often it’s internal latency that’s missed which is where Tim from Smallnetbuilder tests routers but don’t expect Tim to test any Netduma router.

Netduma has never had any control over what Netgear does. Like I said in the video Netgear is the one who has been slacking it has nothing to do with netduma they would like nothing more than to be able to bring all of that stuff to the XR routers but Netgear has one person working on all of them. Believe me I understand the frustration I own an XR500.

Dude u probably change the iPhone every year. Xr500 is an old router with duma 3.3. Its time to upgrade i thing 😊

Same, I have the XR1000 I've watched XR500 & XR700 being a lower model update before mine. Speaking to upgrading phones.. Pixel does get updates 1st but only only by a month or 2 before every other android gets update... Ohhh it sucks but what you gonna do right? You're absolutely right, never again!
