The Netgear XR1000 has been a complete failure IMO I use it because I really have nothing else that can compare but I think if they partnered with a company new to routers like MSI let them do the hardware and NetDuma to the software then it could be a success the problem with Netgear is they have to have some control just my thoughts

I'll never buy a NetGear product again. Should have just bought a NetDuma router from the get go, especially since I only planned to use it for wired devices.

I have the xr700 & Im afraid to install - XR700 BETA FIRMWARE: 3.3.363. My xr700 is working great with AT&T fiber 1000 and Im afraid this beta will brick or mess up the xr700. I guess I’ll continue to just use the official netgear firmare updates.

Netduma should partner with a company geared towards gamers. Netgear is too focused on the casual consumer.

The insane thing to me is that this could have been an amazing partnership. The abilities netgear has with brand recognition, team size, product lines the possibility was there. Netgear should have let netduma control the OS on the XR routers 100%. I have had all the XR routers minus the 700. They were all terrible and inconsistent. While the neduma counterparts got more frequent updates and ran better. Bought a dream machine pro and my life has been 100% better its sad really. Ill never buy a XR router again the XR1000 was broke out of the gate, and never got fixed.

I ditched my xr500 router because of the DCHP issues kept disconnecting from my internet every hour or so tried the netgear forums still no fix. Just sat in the box.

The XR1000 will probably be the last router in their partnership. It’s already aging as it’s built on the RAX 50 platform.

Dang it, I wondered... Printing label and sending it back. The interface is awesome. You get some really good control. But not dealing with the Json response issues. This started only hours after getting the router online. I wonder what the return percentage is on these DUMA routers.

The XR1000 was my first introduction to DumaOS. Over the last couple of years, I might have gotten QoS, Ping Heatmap and Geo Filter to work a couple of times. I have to factory reset every single time I want to use Geo Filter and the rest just stopped working. I have fought with that router so much I nearly gave up with DumaOS. I just purchased an R2 so I am really hoping I have a drastically different experience.

I really wish i would've held off and waited for the NetDuma R3 instead of getting the XR1000. I wasn't aware Netduma had their own routers and was under the impression it was just software that was exclusively for Netgear only. Oh well, this is my first gaming router and now I know better.

Have you changed your mtu to 1200 ? you have to set it to 1200 because the default value ( 1500 ) gives you inconsistent buffer bloat & inconsistent speeds.
