THE NARCISSIST AND THE SMART PHONE

THE NARCISSIST AND THE SMART PHONE. The narcissist treats the smart phone better than you. Yes I know. You see the narcissist treats the phone like a human and a human like a smart phone.. they do. They give the smart phone more attention than people.. why?.. because the smart phone has an endless battery expectancy and is constantly changing.. offering the narcissist new shiny things to explore. The uses of the smart phone are virtually limitless.. between apps, sites, pictures, calls, and videos. The narcissist needs the phone more and more everyday. And yet they have no problem answering the phone when other people call them, and talk for hours on end. Even with you in the same house with nothing to do except wait for them to get off, and they have absolutely no problem calling you when THEY need something. It's completely disgusting.

Mine did this too. And even if I spoke to him while he had his face in the phone, it was as if I wasn't even there. I began stopping mid-sentence, and even sometimes walking out of the room, when he behaved this way. After he had serially cheated on me 20 years ago, before he had a smartphone, I had no more trust anyhow. His phone behavior the last several years became the nail in the coffin, and I ended the 36 year marriage. I was tired of doing all the work to hold the shallow relationship together. I feel better now, though at times, like watching this video and remembering the past, I feel physically nauseous when I recall all of it.

This is so on point! My ex narc was literally glued to his phone, being online 24/7 - checking stuff all the time, even in bed/late at night, in the bathroom, you name it. Pretending to be on Twitter and other similar apps. He would be active on ALL the possible apps-I never understood that. Until I found out he reconnected with his ex and started liking her old pictures and finally, I found out he was cheating me with a brand new supply. On the other hand, this same person never posted anything on Instagram and his FB Account was the most secretive account I have ever seen. Now it all makes perfect sense-the dude was pretending to be single for the majority of the audience while constantly chasing the supplies online. Sick devil.

He gave me one of his. It was full of trash porn, I deleted all that. In the end, 8 months later I left before he could discard me. I didn't have Onstar subscription, they allowed me to make emergency calls the night I left. It was a blessing. I was gone 7 weeks at my safe house. I am safe at home, Divorce is over. I found myself watching my real life go by all while getting worked up over things that didn’t matter. It’s weird how I live in my own little world since deleting those apps years ago. Everywhere I go people discussing some “topic” that is social media based. No thanks. Give me the simpleton life. Every time I am somewhat negative about those platforms, I am treated like the old man that yells at kids for being on his lawn. I want to shake them and say “Do you not see what this is doing to us?” Comparing your life to another’s perceived life will bring nothing but envy, greed, selfishness, and a complete lack of peace.

So true, married for years and on his phone when we are out. Absolutely addicted to his phone. His phone is dual sim too. When he’s not on his phone he’s scanning the room or area and staring at young females.. if I challenge him he denies it and says he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. Totally, checks out even when sitting with his children too. Doesn’t listen to what they are saying. Great video. Thank you.

One time I was out with a 'friend' that had a mobile phone. I didn't have one. Whenever I would call the 'now ex', they would answer with 'Yah what?' in a very grumpy manner. I thought that they always answered the phone like that. But that one time out with my 'friend', I needed to call and she let me use her phone. I didn't know they even knew each other. The 'now ex' answered with 'Heeeyyy, hey hi, hello, what's up?' very cheerfully. That was a wake-up call for me ... that they saw who was calling before they answered, and thought it was her calling, duh. Such a smart phone!

Hi Andrews, I’m from France . Thank you for all your precious videos . It helps me a lot . I left my narcissist husband 4 months ago( got divorced 1 month ago) after less than 1 year of marriage. Unfortunately I didn’t want to see the red flags at the beginning of the relationship. I wanted to believe in love story ( he did everything to be the perfect guy ) and I decided to give a a try and let him a chance because I found excuses for him about his trauma childhood ( here is my empath side 😅) I wanted to save him but I learned I couldn’t… Today I’m proud of me , I know that I took the right decision but I still ruminate sometimes. I’m not angry but so disappointed. Such a disillusionment.. I know time will do his work . And yes, he was addicted to his phone and video game ! He was upset if he lost and insulted people if he lost ! A little boy in an adult body 😒 Thank you again 🙏😊

The minute I get around her she is always checking her phone to see exactly where he is at....She then says I just love this app!!! YIKES. How crazy is that? I would never allow it! Also when we are doing Bible study every week for a couple hours, she has her phone on and it dings, or rings and she picks up phone and stops the Bible study. When the narc wants to talk to you they don't ask permission they just spit it. On the brief occasion you try to speak to a narcissist even for 30 seconds or a minute they are always preoccupied with something going on with their phone. It's like always saying that what they've got going on is more important than anything you have going on. I don't even try to speak to my cousin who is serious narcissist anymore. Not even Small talk which I found out is virtually impossible with most narcissists. It's only a chance for them to degrade devalue and become argumentative with you, even if you're talking about mowing the lawn or anything, it will become some kind of issue. Very smart of us too gray rock and be silent and not get drawn into conversation with them. Thank you for another great video

Smart phones have made it incredibly easy for narcissists to cheat on their partners. These phones also have an ability to create layers of passwords whereby even if you check their phone…their secrets can be easily hidden away in an unknown volt somewhere. Talk about using technology for corruption.

Thank you for your video Andrew. I remember when the Narc use to pretend his phone wasn't important but deep down I knew this was a lie. It was his treasure. While this toxic, abusive, twisted degenerative was telling me how much he loved me and that he couldn't wait for us to have our own cosy place together, he was indeed cheating on me and also on dating/sex sites. He had two phones, one for me and pretending how innocent he was, and the other phone was for, all I can say is disgusting carry on. When I found out Andrew, even though my gut instinct was crying out to me for at least weeks if not months, I was devastated. It almost destroyed me. Looking back now I do believe my higher power was indeed looking after me. I have come along way since then Andrew. Lisa

Unfortunately, a narc gets away whatever is allowed, and its not something I delight in revealing, but the more you apologize and forgive, or reconcile for a "misunderstanding", the absolute WORSE the narc's behavior and interactions are. Bc they feel you let it go before, they just get to do whatever THEY WANT. BC WE DON'T MATTER. 13+yrs, and here we are. They would DIE without their smartphones, REALLY. Without a computer as well. You all don't believe me, let's set up an experiment. ALL supply, go on strike and get the narcs to leave their phones in a vault or something and TRY to go a WEEK without them raging bc they can't use YOUR phone, bc they can't live, like literally, live without technology, bc its constant supply. Discord, all game chats. They used to NEVER use the stuff...but then YOU became interested... what did they do??! Suddenly, it's stupid, or they NEED to chat with strangers playing these games. It's bc they CAN'T live without supply of random validation or admiration. Even negative supply. Bc they see it as a challenge.

@@harleyquinn5269 Hi Harley, ohh yes I found this out the hard way. He used one phone for me acting all innocent and another phone for his supply/supplies. He actually got worse as he aged and was absolutely vile. Future faking while up to all sorts. It's amazing I took every form of abuse going but once I found out about his dirty filthy cheating that was definitely the icing on the cake. He actually did me a favor looking back now. While the soulless degenerative was accusing me of cheating he was doing it himself, typical Narc behavior. I immediately went No Contact and changed emails and got a new phone. Think he ran away anyhow. Life today is much more peaceful but at the time it was horrific for me. I'm still healing after a year but my life has definitely taken on a new meaning. I also think he must of being paying for it as he was definitely not a looker that's for sure xx

Again…right on point! So accurately describes my experiences is scary! Mine went beyond cell phone, though. Between work and personal devices, he would have three monitors, one 42 in TV with 5+ sports going at the same time, three laptops, a tablet, two phones and an iPad, and his earpiece all connected and going at the same time. I hated going into the basement when the times forced him to start working from home. Our family room turned into an electronic nightmare. And that’s not including the teenagers computers and monitors and tablets and phones that were down there too. And when I would complain, he would accuse me of doing nothing but being on my phone and watching TV all the time…hum, wonder how the kids got fed and had clean clothes and got homework done if I never did anything but be on my phone? Lots of projection, blame shifting and gaslighting going on. Now that he’s left, the house is much quieter and there is a much more peaceful atmosphere. Before, you could literally feel the toxicity whenever he was home and all those devices were going.
