This is what some of the plaque in the basement said: "We owe it to ourselves to create a happy marriage. In marriage is the smallest things that are the most important. It is never too old to join hands. I love you at least once a day. It is to never go to bed angry. It is to face the world together." I couldn't see ther rest because of the shadow.

Maybe, that is why that plaque was left in the basement on the floor and everything else was left in the home behind. I know when we'd often leave our home many times a year. My Mom, my siblings and me due to bad abusive situations from my dad we'd wait for my dad to leave to work on Monday morning, collect some items of clothing, a couple toys and get the heck out of dodge ASAP. Always ascared he may come home while we were leaving. This man may have just said forget it. If my family isn't here to enjoy this home. What then am I doing here? And just got up and deserted the pad. Just one scenario of countless. But having heard what the plaque said and where it was located, not hanging on a wall happily. Makes you wonder???

These videos with everything left behind make me so sad. I honestly feel like crying watching them. Because I wonder why? Why do families just up and disappear or leave their homes, their castles? Leaving everything they worked so hard for furniture, cars, clothing, household items, behind? What happened? These homes make me feel sadder than homes with nothing left in them. Your videos are so soothing, your soft voice, soft background music. Almost therapeutic, if they weren't do sad, the ones like this one, anyways. You are amazing by the respect you have and the thoughts you have reminiscing of what once was. I do the same while watching. Seeing the family sitting in the livingroom watching tv. Children doing homework at kitchen table. Small children playing with their toys. But we shall never ever know what really was? That's what keeps you exploring and that is what keeps your viewers loving every minute watching. Because every house tells a different story in our minds. Hey, thanks so much for sharing. You are honestly one of the best explorers out there . Due to the wholesome respect you have for the places you explore. Just watching your videos it's so obvious that you are one special sensitive, caring, soft spoken, respectful guy. Your kind are one jewel in a pile of coal. Thanks for sharing and thanks more for caring. Hey, if you forget your mask. Which you should NEVER do for your health. But, IF you do you could use your shirt and place it over your mouth. That would at least keep out a great part of dust particles, bad air, abestos dust etc. Just a thought! :) But do please remember your mask. Thats a even better idea. Well...... let me think, yea, it is!!! 😊 Be blessed and please stay safe!!!

Siobhan, Thanks for your medical service. Enjoy your time off. Take care of your mental and physical health as you take care of others. It's unfortunate some other houses will be empty, too, due to Covid-19. Occupied one day and then unoccupied. Some people don't even have relatives to resolve their property and affairs. Take care and best regards, Keith

My parents have a house in France and the inheritance laws of France are complicated,if there is a dispute over property and if it isn't resolved amicably then the government takes control of the house and if the dispute continues then quite often properties are locked up and end up like this place.its a sad,mad situation and 1000s of wonderful homes lay abandoned.

@@willpa02higherself12 a sudden death could be an explanation for leaving the contents behind or specific items were listed in the will to a certain member of the family and another member is disputes the will then the problem has to settled amicably before the will can be executed.the old people's homes dilemma is pretty much the same here in the UK but the 10 yr clause is not effective here.the cost of having a family member in one of these homes is astronomical and the person's home is usually the first thing taken to pay for their care and that's a cruel thing to do.

Dave! You've outdone yourself again! Beautiful commentary. It's crazy how close you were to the house and you could barely even see it! That overgrown kitchen area was magnificent! So beautiful! And I loved the basement, still very much intact with all the weight from the house. You were probably smelling guano (bat feces) in the attic. And the bio-oligo cobalt on the nightstand was a homeopathic nutrient found in the mineral waters in Europe. It treated such ailments as anemia, hypertension, muscle spasms, and migraines. (From what I read, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Spotted Poppy at 5:21 Great job, keep up the good work. You've done a beautiful job bringing this house to life again. I know speaking for myself I can see how beautiful this house once was by how you describe it and take us through each room. I like it when you show the heart of a home by sharing the family photos and imagining what it must have been like back before life folded in on it and the people vanished into obscurity. Thank you for this one. A job well done... and not a place that was recently occupied or just not being used by the owners lately. But a truly abandoned mansion with a rich and lustrous history I'm sure. Good job.

Hi Dave, wow so much left behind, it's so sad because that is someone's whole life in that house. I hate it when people just go into these lovely timecapsules and destroys the personal property there. Your video skills have taken a huge jump recently, they are really top quality now. Thank you for sharing, take care. xx

Nice explore, as always. This amazing house could probably be saved, and I'm always puzzled by the waste. As a kid, I remember my dad teaching me that if you take care of what you have, it will last forever. Today, everything is disposable.

finally braving the online world... this is another fantastic explore! Poppy was in the hutch next to the funnels :-). Loved seeing that glass dome clock my parents had one like it when I was growing up and I always loved watching the mechanism spin. With a background in architecture and landscape architecture I have mixed feelings about nature taking over a building like it is here... love it and am saddened by it at the same time. But loved the tree growing up thru the car bumper though! Thanks for another half hour reprieve from my real life! Be well.

A silent empty house sitting in time, waiting for whatever next to happen. Time moves on and so will more houses be built. And this little home will be no more. Memories will be forgotten here. And new ones will be made. Not sure what will happen to all furniture and such, when new buildings are built. But, hopefully they will be donated and not destroyed. Beautiful video, David. xx

I am so grateful for this channel, I just watched another urbex channel from UK and I was appalled at the disrespect shown by the channel hosts, throwing stuff at each other and making disrespectful comments at photos laying about... terrible... thank god there's guys like you out there :)

When I see a house like this . I always wonder what happened . To the family. In younger years this house was gorgeous. But it still has a lot of beauty. Furniture and family belongs. I enjoyed the video. Have a wonderful day.

Amazing! The tree growing through the car bumper is my fav thing! The plaque on the floor in the basement, based on what I've translated, looks like a take on the famous "Art Of Marriage" poem by Wilferd A. Peterson. "L'Art du Mariage" Translation: The Art of Marriage "Nous âmes devons de créer un mariage heureux" Translation: We must create a happy marriage "Dans le mariage ce sont les plus petites choses qui sont les plus importantes" Translation: In marriage the smallest things are the most important "C'est de n'être jamais trop vieux pour se donner la main" Translation: It's never to be too old to hold hands "C'est de dire "je t'aime" au moins une fois par jour" Translation: It's to say "I love you" at least once a day "Ç'est de ne jamais aller au lit fâché" Translation: It's never going to bed angry "Ç'est d'affronter le monde ensemble" Translation: It's about facing the world together "Ç'est de ne pas seulement du marier la bonne personne" Translation: It's not just about marrying the right person
