My problem with the Sephiroth vs Vergil fight was how hard they lowballed Vergil. There is *no way* that a character that is consistently equal to Dante , even his DMC3 self, would only be at "wall level" or wouldn't be equal to Sephiroth in reaction time and/or speed I'm fine with the former winning, but the fight should have been closer than they made it out to be

I forgot the KZreadr, but he explained that some of the things they give Sephiroth shouldn’t be possible due to it just being narrative or story point. Like his supernova or meteor, he can only use it in a certain form after being given black materia which was only due to plot. And Vergil, scaling wise, if he is Dante’s equal, then it shouldn’t be close if you read some of the insane things Dante does.

For me the problem is that Vergil can create portals by cutting through dimensions, so i think he could avoid certain attacks.

This made me realize that feats should be separated into 4 categories and those should also have sub-categories. Gameplay, Cutscenes, Statements and Outliers Gameplay COULD be accurate representation of characters but you still need context because games like God of War has Kratos struggling with doors so gameplay can nerf a character since we have seen cutscenes/quick time events where he is manhandling gods and titans. There is also games like Yakuza where Kiryu takes 1 bullet in a cutscene and is bleeding out and is crawling to a doctor but general gameplay has him eating bullets and walking off direct hits from rocket launchers so in this example gameplay buffs a character and neither are completely accurate. Cutscenes can be extremely exaggerated or a more accurate representation of a character compared to gameplay and should be looked at individually since context matters still. For DMC in general we have many examples of Dante/Vergil one shotting enemies and in DMC 2 specifically there is a moment where Dante shoots his pistols and makes a massive hole in a fairly thick stone wall, these would be more accurate compared to gameplay where you shoot fodder enemies dozens of times each, even the anime had Dante 1 shot most enemies. For exaggerated showings off the top of my head there is Nemesis from the re3 remake he caught a missile mid-flight yet he's somehow incapable of defeating Jill immediately and she's suppose to be a relatively normal human that is highly skilled.. Statements/Lore/Descriptions should be straight forward but statements can be given off by other characters as their interpretations of events, statements could also be flower text like "they moved at god-like speeds!" which is vague and exaggerated to show how impressive the feats was. Written works like Visions of V for DMC 5 has a statement where Nightmare is restricted due to being capable of destroying the demon world and another one where Shadow is 1 shot despite attacking first, this shows that Nightmare should be the fastest familiar of V but gameplay and cutscenes has nightmare being the slowest of the bunch. Context does matter. Games do have restrictions where you can't show off a feat accurately due to hardware limitations or not wanting to allocate enough resources into them so statements are used to display more accurate representations of characters that the creators intended. Outliers are dependent on what's shown and context should be evaluated. Outliers can be high and lowballed. Sephiroth's Supernova feat is an insane outlier compared to everything else that's thrown and it could conflict with general gameplay and cinematic feats. FF7 is generally very inconsistent since in cutscenes Cloud would be too slow to react to bullets and later on (literally minutes later in the same fight) he's avoiding what I think is electricity or lasers which doesn't make sense and it's also a cutscene like the bullet example. Generally games try to give an engaging story/gameplay so I don't think feats are consistent due to developers aiming more for amusement. I think it would be good to gather as much feats as possible for speed, endurance, attack potency etc and split them into lowball, highball and in-between to see where the character is most consistently at, as Stan Lee said "whoever wins is up to the writer" so in the end it doesn't really matter and people debate who wins mainly for amusement.

The fights where a fighter lacks the wincon for his opponent are probably the ones that bother me the most as it makes me feel like all that fighting was completely fake. At least it never got to the point of another Bowser VS Ganondorf.

Might not be a good idea to ask this since I never actually watched that episode but I heard that a few people complained about it due to ganondorf winning. NGL I kind of agree with them given the fact that we've seen bowser survive LITERAL drops from orbit or stars exploding while the most memorable thing I'll say I've seen ganondorf do is survive prolonged sealing as of TOTK. (Granted I've played more mario games then zelda games)

@isaiahjoseph7352 Unless Bowser also has universal durability feats, I don't see the issue in Ganondorf winning by corrupting his body, considering the Triforce under Ganondorf's influence is capable of corrupting a universe. He's also capable of creating pocket dimensions with it, which he does regularly in Ocarina of Time. Also the Ganondorfs in Ocarina of Time and Tears of the Kingdom are two different people and TOTK's Ganondorf is much, much weaker in comparison due to not only lacking the Triforce, but failing to accomplish one of the same feats as a no-Triforce OoT's Ganondorf (killing the deku tree).

@@mingjiechen62 I really enjoyed the Dante vs Bayonetta thing when it first came out, always thought it was really cool and always loved how Dante won since I much prefer DMC over said Bayonetta although looking back on it now, although the outcome is basically accurate, the video definitely hasn't aged well. Also Virgil should be able to speed blitz and one shot Sephiroph, I've not seen that death battle, haven't seen any since Goku vs Superman 2 actually.

I hope we get a Sephiroth vs Vergil rematch episode one of these days, both characters have gotten new feats since then and I feel like if you highball both characters it'll be a much closer episode

@@mercury2157I think that heavily depends on how the Yamato is considered. If it can sever such a connection, I'd assume Virgil would need to be aware of such a connection in the first place. And even after that, would a Sephiroth who no longer can "replenish" his supply still be too much for Virgil?

Really hope they bring Vergil back for an episode given the new stuff he got in DMC5, specifically World of V for cinematic flare, and most importantly Sin Devil Trigger. According to the in-game logs across the series, the Demon World in DMC is stated to be "infinite", and that the Sin Devil Trigger forms of both Dante and Vergil are not only stronger than Urizen (previous ruler of the Demon World, to which it was stated you'd need the power of a god to defeat him), but they’re stronger than Nightmare, a being said to have the power to *_destroy the infinite_* demon world in it's entirety... So apparently... Vergil has universal level power-scaling now. Sephiroth can keep his Solar-System level Supernova feat.

Actually, you can scale him even higher due to him being stronger than DMC2 Dante who mopped the floor with Argosax/The Despair Embodied, whose mere presence, after a portal was opened anyway, was causing the human and demon realms to merge together into their original time-space, as in the very beginning. This puts Argosax at around low multiversal, with DMC2 Dante easily taking him out IN HIS BASE FORM. And DMC5 Vergil stomps DMC2 Dante with ease. Sephiroth doesn't stand a single chance in hell.

Not to mention, in the devil may cry 2 manga Dante fought Void Mundus which is MUCH more powerful than the normal Mundus and he also fought someone that is basically Omnipotent and Omniscient. This feat is Dante's best feat, this was all before dmc5 and what happens in dmc5? Dante gets destroyed by a FARRRR weaker Vergil (as his Urizen form is WAYYYYY weaker than Vergil and pre qlipoth fruit Urizen), Not only did Dante need to unlock his Sin Devil Trigger just to keep up with Qlipoth Fruit Urizen. Also, Vergil has much MUCH more power this time around, he has Mirage Edge (which is basically a 9th dimensional sword), The Yamato's fully unlocked potential, back in dmc4 it was only able to cut enemies but now even reality itself shatters, and the cutting power of the sword is able to cut open portals, beowulf is the same pretty much, and Last but certainly not the least, Sin Devil Trigger. this form is 1000x better than a normal devil trigger, why? Dante lost to Urizen that just started the Qlipoth, he used his normal DT in this fight, When he fights Urizen in the throne room again, after 30 days of human blood , Dante almost defeated Urizen but he escapes to get the qlipoth fruit. And now, when He does fight Urizen again, with the qlipoth fruit, he no diffs him. From being tossed around and destroyed by a weaker Urizen only using his normal DT, Dante defeated the much powerful Urizen with his SDT. although, Vergil's SDT came from Urizen eating the qlipoth fruit. Interpret that how you will. Now I dont know how sephiroth will be able to even TOUCH Vergil atp

An important note on the Naruto vs Ichigo fight, they actually ignored a lot of lore and powerscaling for Bleach, and gave us a lowballed Ichigo way weaker than he canonically was at the time

not the first time they did it The Pokemon V Digimon thing is they hardball or nerf things. Eg having Tai punch Red that makes Red Pause (when in lore, the Pokemon are loyal enough that Charizard would attack Tai in defense). Then with Lucario v Renamon, they deliberately gutted the Digimon's only advantage (and my guess did that due to angry Pokemon fans) Oh and another stomp was the whole Ben vs Green Lantern thing due to them outright ignoring the Sotobro effect

One of the things that always bothered me about their handling of Ichigo was how they seemed to act like every power-up he gets in the series is just a solid x10 multiplier from a static base. They pretty much treat it as if Ichigo, in his base form remained at a completely unchanging level of strength throughout the entire series, and as if every form just gives him a straight up x10 booster. And it's not like I'm just Stanning for Ichigo here either, because they didn't only do that kind of thing with him in that fight. They also treated Naruto's chakra being released in a giant uncontrolled blast as if it was his maximum, despite the fact that the entire point of ninjutsu is that you're taking raw chakra and modifying it in a way that makes it MORE dangerous than it'd be in its raw form. If you could use chakra to its most devastating ends by just releasing raw chakra from your body, no one would even bother with using ninjutsu outside of specific situational applications (like needing to freeze something). There's a reason why things like the Tailed Beast Bomb involve the creatures in question concentrating their chakra into a dense sphere before firing it instead of just blindly spitting chakra all over the place - it's far more destructive in that form. I enjoy Death Battle for their animations, but they reach a LOT of bizarre conclusions sometimes. Even in the fights where I completely agree with the winner there are plenty of times where I look at some of their conclusions about specific pieces of evidence and just go "Wait, what?"

Good on yah for pulling together despite it all and coming out with content. Also Wall level is whack, you don't think that somebody there could relocate a house into another state with a punch. Pretty sure if someone saw that they would call the building busted.

Vegeta threatened blow up the planet in the saiyan saga, regular ass Vegeta. 18 handed his ass to him while he was Super Saiyan…. Blowing up planets was low tier by the time 18 was in the story…

Vegeta surpassed his Saiyan Saga Ozaru self halfway through the very next arc and he became Thousands of times more powerful afterwards and has Super Saiyan on top of that and 18 still curbstomped him. Vegeta being only Planet level at the Saiyan Saga is also quite a massive downplay but if we give him let's type a 5,000x boost then he'll be at a power level of 90 Million which is realistically weaker than he most likely was as he could probably beat Freeza in base. But adding SSJ onto it gives him a power level of 4.5 Billion which is an incredible increase and would put Vegeta at Multi Large Star+ and Millions of times more powerful than his Saiyan Saga self.

Which makes perfect sense considering just how weak base Sephrioth is. Don’t get me wrong, he’s powerful and scary but he needed the black materia to summon Meteor and at the Northern Cavern. If he could literally summon a Supernova at will, then he wouldn’t have needed to do anything in FF7 besides snap his fingers

Wall level vergil to this day hurts my soul. Like even without the lore of dmc agrosax made a eclipse which is large planet level. Also vergil one shots sefiroth still btw

I would like to see a real analysis of the Virgil and sephiroth fight as as much as sephiroth is strong and supernova would kill Virgil. I honestly believe that Virgil should’ve been stronger in death battles analysis

Funny thing about the Vergil one is that the gauntlets he puts on to punch and kick, in game it says throwing a punch hits as hard as a supernova. I just think that’s funny.

I always have a problem with Supernova as a move, bc realistically speaking theres no way that Cloud being the Twink that he is, let a lone Yuffie or ANY of the party members that you fight with, would be able to tank it. Honestly Heartless Angel is a way more consistent and terrifying move in concept that he is able to literally make anyone no matter how powerful oneshot-able He also needs the black materia in order to summon the Meteor in the first place, let alone he needed it at the Northern Cavern in order to actually use it. Saying that pre-FF7R Sephrioth is SUPERNOVA LEVEL powerful is honestly very disingenuous. Its not a fair feat whatsoever to include since its SHOULDN’T be something he could normally do outside of using the Black Materia OR while he has a strong connection to the lifestream

You clearly didin't understand how Sefiroth works, he uses ilusion magic, Supernova is not him destroying planets (he literaly casta meteor to do so) supernova is just a big ass blast attack, however Sefirot uses his ilussion magic to trick his victims into thinking his attacks are more devastating than they actualy are.

Not just that, but the way Supernova even works makes it clear it's an illusion. The attack does percentage damage [for the western version anyway, it does around 2k damage in other versions] and gives status ailments including CONFUSION [which makes sense you'd be confused if you just went through the illusion of a Supernova] It's so easy to understand how Supernova works and it seems both DeathBattle and Nemesis don't bother to do it.

18 would clearly be a planet buster. Vegeta was one in his earliest appearances and she was able to mop the floor with him at Super Saiyan level.

In 18's defense, she now scales to SSjB Goku because of DBS and the stupid feats in the ToP. IF not, she at least scales to just below SSjG, which is still universe level...

The Sefiroth vs Vergil fight pisses me of because vergil solos Final Fantasy. And no, Vergil was already hella strong even in the first DMC. They didin't read the canon mangas.

Vergil needs the run back, he's now universal or low multiversal. This is due to him scaling above nightmare, who is stated to be strong enough to destroy the demon world, which is infinite in size. I mean, he might not win, but it would be a lit closer

They did Vergil dirty because I’m not so sure but dmc fans say that even the most basic dmc demons are complex multiversal so Vergil would just scale way higher than sephiroth if you look at sources outside the games

So someone completely messed up Android 18's power level. She doesn't maybe have the ability to destroy a planet she literally has the power to punch a planet out of existence. She doesn't even need to use a ki blast and yet they've tried to imply that she is maybe planet level destruction. Also, she Is durable enough to take blows from not only Vegeta but literally not have trunks sword affect her. That same sword killed a person who survived an exploding planet, which means she has durability stronger than planetary level destruction. It also means she's massively more powerful compared to people who just have the capability of destroying a planet considering she's beaten multiple people who had the power level to destroy planets easily.

​@@Zoecoon Which one? In DMC5, he's way stronger than Mundus and argosax to the point that they are jokes next to him. Mundus created an universe with a flap of wings and sustained the demon universe with his Power, with said universe starting to collapse after his defeat. Argosax is stated to be at the same level, and was fusing both the human and demon universe with his presence alone. Also theres nightmare, who was stated both In DMC1 and DMCV manga to able to destroy the demon universe. And he's also fodder to DMC5 Vergil. In Pinnacle of Combat, its stated that demons souls originate from a 9th dimension, making the sparda boys even more OP.

True. Before DMC5 was a thing, Sephiroth casually stomped. However, after the crazy amounts of scaling that the DMC verse has received after the events of 5? Sephiroth would be sliced into a million pieces. I still love both characters though.

If you're in the belief that Dante is Multiversal+ then explain to me this how is Virgil weaker than Sephiroth? Especially when Virgil is shown to keep up and is a clear rival to Dante? That never made sense to me and hardly know these two series.

The reason for not taking into account Binary for Captain Marvel is pretty clear. They say she needs enough energy to reach the form, and within the context of the fight that energy could have only come from 18. Same can't be said about her speed.

Tbh, it wouldnt make any sense. Frieazas first form blew up planet vegeta, and that's at the beginning of the broly Super movie, wich is cannon. Super saiyan goku demolishes frieaza, and that's namek saga. So in a nutshell, you would be saying that namek saga goku is stronger than android saga android 18 the same person that beat vegetas Super saiyan wich is comparable to gokus super saiyan. It just doesn't make sense tbh. If Akira toriyama stated that, then he must be ignoring his own story.

Its crazy because Beowulf is literally stated to strike with the power of a supernova/ strong enough to create a supernova. Vergil got absolutely SCAMMED with his research as Vergil was stated to be comparable to Mundus in DMC 3 and could have killed him if he wasnt already injured by Dante, and at that point in time Mundus was easily universal and could be scaled to uni+. Vergil should have stomped if Death Battle actually knew the material they were covering and didnt just pick and choose calcs while ignoring statements. DMC 5 Vergil and POC make this even more unfair in Vergil's favor as he is easily 9d at his lowest and outer to high outer at his current strongest. Vergil deserves proper respect and redemption

My dude, DMC 3 SHOULD have mopped the floor with Sephiroth. DMC5 Vergil is so powerful that DMC3 Vergil looks like a kid in comparison.

She was multi star level and they said maybe planet level when king vegeta waved his hand and blew up 3 planets instantly, dragon ball characters were lightspeed in saiyan saga and 18 had infinite ki and the ability to nullify beam attacks with barrier. If they ever do a rematch between Sephiroth and Vergil, it would result in another stomp, just the other way around. Even if we ignore Peak of Combat, there are informations about the Demon World in DMC to justify it as a Multiversal Structure (being infinite in size and having several dimesnions inside of it that works on different and owns spaces and times), where if PoC is used it makes it the place a Low Complex Multiversal structure. Dante in DMC1 beat Nightmare that could destroy the entire Demon World and also beat it's creator Mundus in slightly advantegous battles; then, few years later, he casually without difficulty beat Argosax and Void Mundus who were at minimum as strong as Mundus; in DMC5 he became even stronger than DMC2 (game and novel) before getting the Devil Sword Dante and unlocking his Sin Devil Trigger. Vergil is as equal in power to Dante after all his power ups. Even if we consider The FF7 Remake so far, Sephiroth is drastically outscaled. There is no evidence, so far as I searched, for him to be above Multiversal (he is at minimum Galaxy level, obviously higher, and not Solar System as many think, btw), and that is the Lowball of the Demon Lords that at this point are not even a challenge to current Vergil. Even all the spells that Sephiroth have gives him not advantage since Vergil's speed is Immesurable (meaning he can evade most, if not all of them) and even they hit unlikely that they will do much (both Mundus/Argosax/ Beastheads were space, time and reality warper and yet not of them hax, and from other minor and major demons, had effect in DMC2 onwards Dante, and DMC5 Dante Demoliiton is pretty much Heartless Angel, and only does a little fraction of damage to Vergil). Also, Verigl, even in his DMC3 depiction as all the back on the making of the video, would've evaded the Supernova before it hit him, guaranteed with Yamato's portal opening skill (DMC3 Vergil was at least faster than the Speed of Light, since DMC3 Dante could dodge the Rook demons lasers) since Vergil is one for trying to avoid any damage, not matter how little, instaed of trying to tank it. Just FYI, the DMC novels are considered canon and, so far, PoC also has been used as canon, while SMT is not (SMT Dante is treated as a different character, just like KH Sephiroth is another version). I've heard that Dissidia could be considered canonical, but considering, from what I've read, that the Gods of Cycle have summoned and help empower their respective champions, the feats in the events of this game are unrealiable. Edit: In DMC5, the Fury lesser Demonss are capable of doing space-time jumps when moving to strike their opponents. Vergil is able to react to them, therefore, he should have Immesurable speed. Edit 2: In one of the Official DMC2 Complete Guide, the Enemy Data on Argosax mentions that his movement transcends space and time. At minimun, this is pretty much Pluto speed's description from PoC.

Just to make my position clear: Regardless of the matchup, my gripe of scaling any FF character through Dissidia is that, from what I understand, the Gods of Cycle are affecting the summoned characters, improving their original capabilities. Here'ss a hypothetical example. Mk vs Dc, which is non-canon to MK main story, has a plot point where, due to the merging of worlds, there was a constant flux of energies that make any fighter win against any one, like Jax beats Wonder Woman, Batman beats Raiden, Shang Tsung beats Green Lantern and so on. Once the crisis is resolved, everybody goes back to their dimensions and, mostly, return to their own powers (few exceptions). If someday, because of the alternate timelines and versus dialogues, they make Mk vs Dc canon, it still cannot be used for scaling main MK (like saying that everybody scales equal to, at the time, Superman or Shazam) since there was a contextual reason. I mean, after the game events, can you , for example, really scale someone like Tidus as an equal to Ultimecia once they go back to their worlds? Is it canon? Yes. Does it matter to scaling FF characters overall, besides the Dissidia exclusives ones (Cosmos, Chaos, Shinryu)? No.

Sephiroth vs Vergil is a good MU a great episode and a decent finale

Season 4 was kinda mid. It wasn’t hot ass like the one after it, and _especially_ not its predecessor. Only seven episodes stick out to me the most and that’s it. Everything else felt like white noise to me. Also, I pray to God that you’re getting better soon. Take all the time you need to relax your mind off any stress. It’s honestly absurd how little Death Battle cares about Bleach. They brought two of the series’ main characters in just to lowball the hell out of them and have them lose to Naruto characters. Don’t get me wrong, I love both series, and I actually like Naruto more out of the two, but the fact that they intentionally shafted Bleach twice so that Naruto could win drives me freaking mad.

It’s cool how close balrog vs TJ combo is, considering it’s the most realistic fight.

My dude, when in the hell does Sephiroth have the ability to teleport people into supernovas? That is COMPLETELY made up by Death Battle. If he could just teleport people around, the events of the game wouldn't have even needed to happen. The ability in the original Japanese version of the game doesn't even deal normal damage [which usually deals around 2000 damage in a game with a cap of 9999, so it's not even THAT damaging in the western version], it deals PERCENTAGE damage [meaning it literally cannot kill] and causes Silence, Slow....AND CONFUSION [Get it? Cause it's literally an illusion he creates]. He doesn't create Supernovas, he doesn't teleport people into Supernovas [i really want to know who's the dumb human that first said this], he creates a magical illusion of it.

They claimed that they take the characters at their strongest forms and moments for the fights, but gave the match to 18 because the last time Carol turned into Binary (at that time) it was a weaker version of that particular form.
