You missed one of the best parts. "You can't just shoot a hole into the surface of Mars!" 😂 I can't get over how hyped up this game can still make me feel. I only pray the next Doom we get is as good as 2016 Doom and Eternal.

@@critzhater8680 Aye I remember it. It looked like it could be a great game as a new IP but not as a Doom game. It was waaay too slow in the videos I saw. Other than that it just never struck me as being a Doom game, it looked way too much like a COD or Battlefield clone. It's about the only time I'm glad a game was cancelled because Doom 2016 was absolute perfection and it gives me hope this series is going to continue for a long time.

This will always be one of the greatest games of one of the greatest game franchises of all time, but the lore just doesn't land for me. DOOM was always a lone Marine (SGT Taggart in the novels) taking on the hordes of HELL single-handed. Making him a demigod with an elaborate backstory is a waste of a perfectly good defy-the-odds-to-save-humanity hero. Guess I'll just have to go play Half Life again...

I agree, they tried way too hard with the lore in Doom Eternal. Trying to expand it into a whole fantasy universe made it kinda lame. In Doom 2016 it was kinda cool the way they just hinted at it. But the moment they started throwing heaps of made up names, words and pages upon pages of backstory, I kinda tap out

I agree. Doom 2016 had a more sinister feel to it. Eternal is too Candyland.

I personally hated that they made Doom Guy wear a helmet like it's Haze or something. The old school health indicator was how bloody Doom Guys face was in the bottom of the HUD. Piss on this modern crap. Give me the real Doom.

I dont get why the marauder keeps talking shit, like how tf is he a usurper if YOU are the one who betrayed the sentinels to be a hell marauder and YOU know there is no way to inflict moral or mental pain onto the slayer.

​@@beanwithbaconFirst of all, making him stronger was necessary because of the new demons. They wanted gameplay to flow better, and to make the new gameplay make sense they made a backstory. A really badass backstory. Second of all, if you don't like the new armor, actually play the game to get different ones. They have the old praetor suit, and the classic one. You would know this if you actually played the game. Just say you don't like the new games. You don't have to complain about stupid stuff.

@@Head-Tr1ck I know you can unlock the old armor but you shouldn't have to. Making him a demigod actually makes the character feel way way way less of a badass. He was far more of a badass when he was just a random grunt who was able to persevere through the depths of hell and come up on top. Oh and the backstory has to be one of the most uninspired in the last 30 years of game design.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but I much prefer Doom 2016 over this game.

You must be new. Doom is supposed to be a big 🖕 to the crap being produced today. Highly mechanical and input-heavy. Very fast. Lots of gore and big explosions. Does not play itself. Story is a demigod killing demons. Sorry that isn't lgbt enough for you. Maybe saints row or something is more your speed. 🌈
