Mate, you are providing free entertainment, insights into the innerworkings of GW, a free discord server, a place were people can share their struggles, free mental support and encouragement for a lot of people who truely needs it. All of that while working as a teacher, being a farther and taking care of you family. _Don't ever_ feel like you have to apologise for the length of videos, upload schedule or any of that nonsense. That first story, I have to completely disagree with the hypothesis that men always want a bigger house, or car, or promotion because we have a drive to provide for the people we love. Where I live and teach is a mining town. Families move here and over years the father's on the family move up in the mining company, and they get big boats, big cars, big houses etc. And without fail, once they have more money than they know what to do with, they start cheating on their missus. When my colleagues explained this to me I thought it was a bit of a joke and maybe it's happened enough times to become a bit of a town joke. A couple years I've realised it's actually a chronic problem, and we see the effect this has on the young boys we teach. I don't know what the point of me saying this was, just that the drive for more is about status and ego.

21:33 correct me if I'm wrong but from what I know of German tanks, they didn't even put the ol' bendy cross on their tanks? It was more often the iron cross. Pretty dodge if he's finding excuses to slap them everywhere he can, even when, historically, the Germans wouldn't have.

22:00 Don't forget that the German army was conscripted. You can imagine what happens if you say "Oh, but I don't want to be conscripted, I don't want to fight for Mr Austrian Man, and I'm scared of guns" or whatever. Unlike the Americans who patriotically joined of their own volition (and probably the pay too).

I remember hearing a story about a US WWII veteran that served during The Battle of the Bulge, who observed a group of table top gamers reenact that battle in a historic game like Bolt Action. One of the gamers went up to the Veteran and asked how he felt about people turning events he lived through into a game. The veteran’s answer was along the lines of “you know, I had a lot of buddies fight and die in that war, and if it’s games like this that keep their memory alive, I’m all for it.” That’s what games like Bolt Action are about to me, keeping the memory alive of the service men and women that gave their’s for people like us. So to then hear a story about some fuckwit dickhead that uses a game like Bolt Action to live out some edgelord power fantasy disgusts me. It’s people like him that give historic gamers a bad name, and if I had to play him, it would be the one and only time I’d be tempted to break someone else’s models.

I'm looking into getting some bolt action stuff myself and want to collect a German army, I just love the looks of them not to mention I've been a bit of a ww2 nerd since my middle school days (I just hit my fourth decade a few months ago). Was watching KZread videos on it and stumbled across a video midwinter minus did that showed them painting a German and British tank. His whole outlook on it was that he didn't even want to paint the panzer because it was german and in his eyes from what gathered from his rant was that anyone that played german armies was a bad person. I'm pretty laid back but that video upset me in the fact people are being judged by what they prefer to play. I'm not defending mr skinhead in the least and I would have just picked up my models and left. I enjoy edgy and dark humor but what that guy was doing did not fall under that category. I do think you came down on bobbie a little hard though. Not everyone is comfortable with confronting someone

I told him politely to cease his rantings, which he declined to do and he then explained what he would do to me. I told him he may test that assumption at his leisure, which he did. After he peeled himself off the pavement, the local constabulary arrived and investigated the incident. No further action was taken against me, him however, I have no idea.

25:40 This is a troublesome complicated topic. You don't want legal consequences for what is being "said" but vigilante justice? So you don't want consequence violence against the wrong things being "said"? - The problem here is that technically speaking, the legal system has been invented in order to make vigilante justice, mob justice not necessary anymore because that is a very volatile, emotionally driven thing that tends escalate beyond its good intentions. It does become necessary again when the legal system fails or works against its own people, but that's another topic. Incitement to violence, including genocide, is not mere speech and opinion anymore. It is an action beyond that. "I only gave the order to shoot, I didn't shoot anyone!" doesn't work well as an excuse, does it? In Germany we developed the term "Schreibtischtäter" from the atrocities of the Nazis and after them the Socialists in East Germany. It roughly translates as "workdesk-perpetratror" or "office-perpetrator." Death through bureaucracy can have many faces, including the passive aggressive and covert ones. Knowing British humor, the British people are quite familiar with the concept. Glorification of genocide is the lifeboat of vessel that is incitement, hence we treat it it the same. Or I thought we would. Given recent events, our Socialist run government is not clamping down calls for genocide about the specific form that is written into our constitution when done by a certain group of people. The Left was never against Antisemitism, they just had to pretend to after the Nazis were condemned for it. Who would have voted for any Socialist Party had they been honest about their beliefs and warped logic? Just read their heroes, Marx and Engels: It's always been there in just that way.

23:00 Also, while you mention never having seen slogans on German tanks, neither have I. More importantly, I am not sure what the author meant by "wonky crosses" at the beginning. Since he found it relevant to mention he likely means "the happy windmill." That was not painted on tanks either, as the symbol of the German army has been the Iron Cross since Prussian times and has carried through to this day. They didn't have two symbols on them. So if this guy the author played replaced the Iron Cross with the "happy windmill" that says everything about him.

In order to get how military personnel of WW2 Germany saw the doctrine... A pretty decent depiction would be "Das Boot". Movie or book... The set of characters is very interesting and the way war inflicts them and their view. It definitely is a movie where one can't really route for a side. It's a movie where one gets to know charakters. Some are likeable. Some are icky. But in the end one just wants the people to survive for survivals sake and one feels with both the U-boat crew and the crews of the merchant vessels they hunt.

I wouldn't play against that guy either, but i see it a bit different. I live by the motto 'i don't discriminate anyone by not making fun of them.' I think if you always tiptoe around some people because they belong to a minority, you exclude them from that and kinda treat them like a third wheel. humor can break a lot of barriers when it is used in taste. When i wrote the above, i didn't finish the story. that person is a shitbag, and everything and everything he says and does is just showing what a piece of shit he is. All those comments are way over the line. If it is an immersive game, where everyone is dressed like the general of their army, maybe, but not in public and definitely not in front of children/ families. What i meant above the worst is about stereotypical behavior, not open antisemitism, like that guy was showing. For example i have to wear a tie for work, but i suck at tieing one, so i always ask the Brittish coworker to tie it for me, because it is one of the most Brittish skills. When it comes to tabletop i got a few of the old metal chaos sorcerers with the hood for my Chaos Slaanesh army (fantasy), where i painted the hood white. It is mostly as a tactical thought. People who think thats offensive might specifically target said sorcerer, while lacking focus on other parts of the table.

20:10 Yeah, if you did this in Germany you'd be facing a judge. Exploitation and relativization of atrocities such as this is almost never done in good faith but almost always for ulterior motives. Disingenuous people measure things units of holocausts and Hitlers to garner sympathy from their audience for their causes. When an atrocity is beyond the threshold it is beyond the threshold. That is in the nature of atrocity. Any dick-measuring contest about the detailed stats of one against the other is questionable at best, relativization of the "lesser" or embellishment of the intended topic (in this case slavery, and these types never talk about on the Eastern routes, who did the enslaving, who ended and actively fought slavery and where it is still practiced today. Thus it is always disingenuous) usually. Furthermore, this comparison between holocaust and slavery is not even comparing apples to oranges, but apples to kitchen appliances.

Don't feel bad though Bobby for "not going far enough". That is no person's personal job to do something. Life will do its job with these types of people eventually. Some people just aren't built for the fight and that's ok. The fact that you tried to say something is good enough, well done mate. Don't forget, north just inadvertantly suggested that the slave trade was no worser than the Holocaust simply because the slave trade "didn't kill near as many as the holocaust". You have to murder six million innocent people for it to be considered as bad as the holocaust or any other terror related attack on humanity. If you were uncomfortable to a point where you were unsure of what to do Bobby, that's ok mate. Maybe you'll try a different tactic next time? Maybe you struggled to think at that time because of how uncomfortable you felt? North is clearly naive and ignorant to many things but feels his opinion holds enough weight to hold individuals accountable for not doing what he feels is adequate. Don't take it personally though, North is clearly upset as it is a topic he feels very strongly about and also borders on attacking him. You do what you feel is right Bobby. You did what could. We're not all accustomed to verbal aggression and/violence. And most people who talk online certainly aren't accustomed to this way of living either. Don't beat yourself up Bobby lad.

No legal consequences for speech, just physical ones. I say an eye for an eye is fair here; they wanna say something offensive then you can do so right back. I would think that as a youtuber you wouldn't want to go around condoning violence against someone who hasn't done any themselves. Obviously if they are violent then have fun, but you also don't NEED to be the first to commit violence when you could just leave. You could ask that this person be removed instead and if that doesn't work then maybe you're in the wrong place to begin with. You are holding two contradictory opinions I think; Don't call me "free" while tying my hands and threatening violence if I don't obey! I have the freedom to say whatever slur I wish , but the only harm done is to your ego and not your bones/flesh. I can understand the "fear" of what ideas such language may encourage, but why succumb to fear when sunlight is a much better disinfectant? This doesn't mean that I disagree with your conclusion that I should be allowed to punch someone who offends me, only that I believe you misunderstand "freedom". “German Wonky Cross” “Painted on his tanks” I’m hoping that what was meant was the Balkenkreuz (the one that is plus-shaped) and not the Hakenkreuz (The Swastika) as the Blakenkreuz was (and still is) used as the identifying symbol of the German Armed Forces (Edit: oh no he did not mean the Balkenkreuz” Also not to ruffle feathers, but the “Clean Wehrmacht” myth became a thing because they didn’t hang Heinz Guderian. The myth is that the Wehrmacht was never involved with Germany’s war crimes and that the SS were the primary perpetrators. The Wehrmacht acted as extensive accomplices to the SS.

As a world we are not declining in population North. You may just be speaking towards your reality in your local. But in the US and in the developing world the population is still growing at a rate that increases the population. To a point where it is too much in some places. Love you North, but have to correct you on that. (Yes there are too many people:)

Most developed countries are showing a decrease in population growth below over the last 50-100 years, to the point that many countries have dropped below the 2.1 children per woman rate that is needed to maintain a steady population. So yes, even with a fertility rate of 1.5 children per woman the population will still "grow" as in numbers will get higher, but that will crash in less than a century as suddenly there are less young workforce members and a hugely disproportionate older population. Therefore population GROWTH in developed countries is declining massively, and that within the next 100 years will lead to population shrinkage.

@@TheRider2012 sure 100 years. Likely the world popular will collapse in 100 years agreed. But in the now, the population of the world as a whole is growing. That is a fact, and it’s not good. And it will for many years for a while now unless something unknown or unexpected occurs.

@@petros9711 Unfortunately the growth is slowing, it needs to maintain 2.1 as a replacement rate, most developed countries sit around 1.5. So a child and a hald is being born per 2 adults. This mean the population will skew as medicine improves for keeping people alive older, meaning people will need to work longer, there will be less people to care for the elderly, pension systems will not work properly etc. We're not screwed due to the rise in numbers, if food was distributed correctly and money was spent on actually solving the shortages we'd be fine, but it's not.

Dude, most of the worlds fertility rates are less than 2.1, which means population shrinkage will follow. Its mainly the continent of Africa and very few other countries that are actually seeing a fertility rate that will lead to increased population. Literally google global fertility rates. It's not a hard think to look in to.
