I wouldn't mind it so much if it wasn't such a big part of their personality. It's like everyone who is into it it's their Special Interest. I like things like fantasy football and vegetable gardening but I wouldn't saunter into a non-relevant place and constantly go on about it with people that don't share the interest. It's worse when there's a sexual element to it too. If this is a kink to you then WHY ARE YOU CONSTANTLY TALKING ABOUT IT IN PUBLIC including in places where there are minors? Just NO. It's actually fine for a community to be sex-positive but do not overshare and be in other (uninterested!) people's faces about this if that's what it means to you. Just.... Eugh.

Ignore the airbrush complaints. I own a nice set up and rarely use it because of the upkeep/cleanup that’s involved. I think it’s silly to recommend this totally optional, expensive and not that important hobby toy to a newbie. I would however recommend it to somebody deep into the painting side looking to experiment/ try new things.

I maintain that the problem with furry is that of simple oversharing. We don't all need to know how SUPER FURRY OwO OMG LOLRANDOM you are constantly. You don't need your phone unlock screen to be Krystal the fox with her boobs out. You don't need to cover yourself in tails or ear headbands or other tacky shite in public. You don't need some smiling furry character in that soulless and drab Disney-Anime fusion art style to be your display picture everywhere online, with an accompanying furry name. You don't need to always be the "anthro" character in everything. You don't need to obsess over the character in a franchise that's a talking animal. It's not just cringe, guys. It's boring and exhausting and it makes your fandom look shallow and childish. If they just treated it as some random interest they have and keep it to themselves with people that are not interested or aren't involved I wouldn't really have a problem with furries but this oversharing and this need to be seen as SO FURRY is such a common problem with them. Seriously, if some guy had furry as an interest but was otherwise an alright geeky dude who doesn't go on about it to my disintested ear I'd happily sit around a table with him and have a pint and a laugh, but I'm sorry they just don't ever seem to be like this.

North, I partly agree on the airbrush thing. With airbrushes, they really help with glow effects and rough blending of colours (something that I cannot do myself to save my life) while also giving you the benefit of having a smooth and consistent surface of a colour that greatly contrast’s its base colour. Believe me, I don’t want to apply 5 base coats of white onto a black primed model and then have to strip it because there’s texture on it now. I will however agree on the showing off part. Don’t lie about how you did your models because you just look silly. Similar example, I’m one to buy painted models off eBay, especially if it’s a one off thing like a knight but I will not for a second day that it’s my paint job. It’s simply not and I don’t want to be caught out when someone asks me how to do a technique on the model I have no experience in. To sum it up, the airbrush is a great tool for hobbyists to get a quick effect that looks good on their models because at the end of the day, it’s their models. But you should not show it off as brushwork.

~37:00 In medieval times and before, to assume that a black person is "burned by the sun" is just basic phenomenological logic: People knew you get a tan when you work outside all the time, your skin would darken - hence nobility being associated with palest skintones, not just soft hands (and why Snowwhite cannot have a tan or dark skin colour to begin with, let alone being born of her queen (royalty) mother's wish for a child with skin white as snow, but I digress). People were aware that the sun darkened your skin, and thus the simplistic logical conclusion that "the sun must have burned him" is completely logical, if ill-phrased. The contemplation that the black man must come from a place where the sun is scorching(!) is correct too. People didn't know the biology behind it, or whether that darker skin is actual protection against the sun, but the basic ideas weren't far off at all.

To be fair I have only used an airbrush a few times and they are a little finnicky to get working but ill say one thing they are just as importent as brush work to get good with you want to work with one, It is just a unique skill when it comes to painting, I kn0w I can paint to a above average standard at times with brush work but I am no way near golden demon level air brush work is just as vailid as every thing else, yes you can do some pretty cook object source lighting very quickly But You can do that with a brush just as easyily if you have just tried a few times. With all things with paiting itsj ust pratice And not painting at a army level but inetnionaly picking models to practice with. Just be be proud of others trying out new techniques, Not trying to be arsy or any thing but Some peop,e use oils and ide see that in some ways more cheaty than a air brush for weathing but even then its a unique technique that requires some know how on how to pull off well. love the content keep it ocming

It might happen very occasionally if someone from an art background gets into miniature painting, but the sheer regularity of it makes me extremely leery of all of them

Here is a fun fact for ya, North. Since you were talking about racism and history, do you know where and when the first recorded use of the N word was? It was in Ancient Rome where the latin word "Niger" pronounced as N-eye-ger and was simply a person of African or Carribean decent. Simon, in Acts chapter 13 of the Bible is known as a Niger by the romans and was one of the two prophets that lead the Church of Antioch. They associated his skin color with his faith and in turn, the word simply meant "black christian." It didn't have a negative conotation at first. But, sadly, as humans are...later generations took this simple descriptive word and made it evil. By the 1400s, it had become the word we know today. How far we have fallen.

39:30 Oh yeah, the whole joke about the Rowling-thing is not merely a "she's a person of her time", because as you correctly identified, this is about politics, which in the end means, "not reality", but "beliefs, ideas, opinions." It could be religious complaints just as well, because the demands of the political activists don't even make sense. I have that stupid condition by the way, the one they make a kerfuffle about. It doesn't work at all as the activists say, or all those anti-aesthetic spotlight seeking people you see say, but there's 100-1000 more of those than of us. This whole topic has not been about science, biology, neurology, etc for a very long time. It has only been about the warped fanfiction of the activists/ideologues, and that means: Not us. I side with Rowling.

Little bit of context for the furry community (im one myself): genuinely like 90% of us just like art / making art, and dressing up since its fun. The other 10% is the more questionable, nsfw side of the community, the other 10% are somewhat toxic / gate keepers, and the other 10% is bad at maths. Wait... On top of this, the furry community is basically the entire global IT department, a solid portion of the worlds military, and there is a surprising amount of us who work in the nuclear field of science, and science in general. So we kind of control the world already XD

Weird. I've worked in IT / tech for 30-some years, across various companies, sectors and industries - small companies to international corps. Never worked with a furry (or at least any who've been open about it). Walk into _any_ hobby store in a city and within 5 mins you'll stand on the toes of someone with animal parts attached to them.

You should think about do a quick listen to your video before you post it, a quick edit to cut out of some of the hum-de-hum looking for files noises and wasted time re-iterating the same point 3 times. A little effort to make a higher production quality could put you closer to the same level of other people doing this kind of content.

I'd like to maybe correct the sentence you said "You're a trans woman, she's a woman, you are both women". The term you might've been looking for is cis woman, as it's the opposite of veing trans. Otherwise it makes no real sense. If both are women then cis women and trans women don't have a distinction, making J. K a trans woman as well.
