To be fair to the nurse screaming in part 3, that was a surgical scalpel that he picked up, not a “letter opener”. Of course, what a scalpel is doing at a nurses station is a pretty good question.

The 1972 Tales from the Crypt movie also had a killer Santa in one of its segments. Roger Ebert gave the movie a positive three out of four stars, and he even mentioned Santa in the review with no condemnation.
@suavemsuavemente
Жыл бұрын
I think he didn't kill anyone on screen, killer Santa that is, in fact it was Joan Collns' character who murdered her hubby only to be targeted by the killer in an ironic twist-of-fate kind of thing. It was more a cat and mouse scenario and it was tough to cheer for her knowing she killed while also easy cuz she was fighting for her survival. Aslo, this was one of a few tales depicted in the movie. I think that Mr Ebert recommened the movie as a whole not just this segment in particular.

Saw a few actors from Twin Peaks in Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 3, even Laura Harring who went and starred in Mullholand Drive, interesting.
@mcnultyssobercompanion6372
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm genuinely surprised he didn't mention Harring or the fact that Richard Beymer played the doctor. Beymer's an interesting guy for "Twin Peaks", but also because he was a major movie star in the late-50's/early-60's, essentially the Timothee Chalamet of his day. He was in "The Diary of Anne Frank", "The Longest Day", and was the male lead in no less than "West Side Story". To see him eventually in material like this gives interesting perspective on the transitory nature of "film stardom". I'm not too familiar with this channel, maybe cinema history isn't a focus, but going through the credits of "Silent Night/Deadly Night part 3" I'm kind of blown away by how the director and co-writer was Monte Hellman, a VERY important guy to modern film history as one of the individuals who grandfathered "Reservoir Dogs" into getting made. Hellman also has three films on The Criterion Collection. It's _beyond bizarre_ that he directed this as well.
I'm busting a gut laughing at the notion of a driver stopping to pick up that horrifying escaped patient. Absolutely insane!
I've had a VERY depressing last couple of months, especially right now..and *you dressing up, wigs and all,* have reeeeaally given me the laugh I need right now! That blonde wig had me dead 💀
"Silent Night: Deadly Night" opened 11/9/84 in just under 400 theaters. The controversy helped lead to SOLD-OUT shows. That same weekend another horror movie was released. It opened in just 165 theaters. Though not much was really known about this OTHER horror film, It has a solid opening weekend despite competing with "Silent Night: Deadly Night." The backlash caused "Silent Night: Deadly Night" to be removed from theaters after only 2 weeks in theaters, leaving the OTHER horror film to increase its theater count and allowing it to become a surprise hit! That movie was "A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET."😁
Marvel Comics did an issue of one of their Spiderman titles where Santa makes an appearance. He beats up a bad guy, saying something about Silent Night, Deadly Night without actually naming the movie
The "thanks" go from $2.00, $5.00, $10.00 and then jump to $50.00! Times are tough but you've helped with all the laughs! Merry Christmas and thank you!

The most shocking thing to me, after just doing a wikipedia-search, is how "Silent Night/Deadly Night 3" is directed and co-written by Monte Hellman. Monte "I have three films in The Criterion Collection and was instrumental in Quentin Tarantino becoming a thing" Hellman.
11:32 I like how she screamed into the phone 😂
"The Rosenbergs....They definitely did not get involved with Christmas" That line was second only to "garbage day".

The best thing about Silent Night, Deadly Night Pt. 2 is this quote: *"Garbage Day!"*
"Ban this garbage! Oh, what's that? You want me to play the starring role in the movie's sequel? OH HELL YEAH! I'M THERE BABY!" - Mickey Rooney
