Ed Sheeran makes me angry because it's very clear that he's got some talent in him and he just refuses to use it because the lifeless songs sell more. For every Sing or Castle On The Hill there's three Shape Of Yous or Perfects. But minivan core has a big audience, and he sure knows how to play into it.

Castle on the Hill is legitimately a great song because not only is it very well sung and believable in his performance, it's actually unique to him and feels like it really earns its big, bombastic chorus. What makes castle on the hill so special is that "uneventful life story" is the same as we all had, I can't say my childhood had any crazy adventures but looking back now it's those little moments with my friends doing normal things that make me remember how happy I was and feel nostalgic. This song brings back exactly those memories in a very warm and cute way.
@infinityquartz4744

fully agree. it's one of Ed's best songs because it portrays that middle-class childhood most of us had, and Ed seems to either not know how or not care enough to make most of the rest of his songs as genuine and genuinely relatable. i think Castle on the Hill is an above-average song outside the context of Ed's discography, but the song stands out within that context because the context itself is so boring and lifeless.

I don't love the song, but I never thought about it that way. That's a pretty interesting angle.
Apparently Ed stopped cursing in his songs because a taxi driver told him that they wouldn't let their daughter listen to songs with curse words and said "it was the right thing to do" Also, as an autistic person, I didn't really mind the comments at 16:43. Thought it was kinda funny

I feel like this album is better when listening to the songs separately rather than together, so that you aren't bored by a bunch of slow songs in a row and instead can enjoy a song by itself. @pizzzaeater1425

@@bruhguy4208 i agree, but i'd like to define the way i interpret it. i think that a random collection of okay songs on the same project makes for a bad album. however, if it were a random collection of really good songs, that can still be a pretty good album. not as good as the ones that have an intended flow or story, but can still be good. i also don't think that just giving an album a theme, story, flow, etc. doesn't automatically make it a better album. the flow has to work in order, the story has to make sense, and most of all, the songs still have to be good on their own. it's not as black and white as just "no story = bad album" or vice versa.

He gets the rap pass. Before he was even signed to a label, he had music posted on SBTV, and did a collaboration EP with a bunch of UK grime artists. He has a lot of ties to the rap scene (pre-drill) and seems to be treated with a lot respect. I think he has supported them in a number of ways since but I cant remember anything specific. I hate his music, but it's pretty cool. And that EP, while not great, is probably his best release IMO.

@@cuandotumedasunagalleta7169 True, but also you should try listening to his pre-Finite Form songs, before he was popular like Juana Maria and Summer Sickness and Stones. They are great -- also yeah, he's quite the guy in real life.
This album is actually great compared to his two newest projects

The collab album is definitely abysmal but = is much better than ÷, the songs are competently made and they don't all blend in with each other, = is more like his x album but not quite as good.
In response to the "zoomers don't have the attention span" comment, I'd just like to add this: I've got an attention span, but I don't bullshit. If something doesn't peak my interest quickly, it's probably not gonna get any attention. I can watch a 3 hour movie easily if it's interesting, but a 3 minute song that's boring is getting skipped.
Hey brad just came into say when you said “this chat is filled with autistic people”. It wasn’t okay and it’s not a term that should be thrown around like that, ableism isn’t okay and while I’m not one to say that policing what someone says is a good thing most of the time. I feel like you saying that was a sign of ignorance to a topic you yourself don’t struggle from, as an autistic person myself. We do have feelings

As an "autistic" person, it's not real. ADHD isn't real. Bpd, add, did, osdd, ocd, aren't real. They're psychologists feeding you pills and making you believe your behavior is okay. Learn self control, and you'll no longer have those problems caused by "autism"

@@chocolatesorbetred that statement in itself is ableist because it makes autistic people seem like they're emotionally unstable and mentally ill

I didn't mind the first couple but good god they've milked it to death
I wanna see Brad react to Jason Mraz's 2020 album, Look For The Good. He would hate it!
You should listen to Shape of You with the Stormzy verse, he makes the song a hell of a lot better
Please react to the no. 6 collaborations project. It’s so bad it’s entertaining.
Just had a crazy realision halfway through enjoying this video... I legit went to a concert for this album lmao
"brad army, dox and harass!" 🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃🏃
Wanted to make a "funny" remark but this music doesn't even get that out of me
I highly recommend "Save Myself" which is on the deluxe version. Definitely one of the better songs on this album.
Bro I bought that album the week it came out, better pop than most of the stuff I thought

Yea, Castle On The Hill and Galaway Girl were kinda fun even if I just barely remember them
Sheeran writes best when it's personal to him. It's the reason why Taylor Swift is successful as well as other singer/songwriters like Billy Joel, Kate Bush and Fiona Apple. Stop writing wannabe pop hits and just be genuine.
What do u think about hardstyle? Example:Mqx - heaven's door
I legitimately forgot that Divide actually existed. lmao
Ed Sheeran is more talented than he leads on but honestly the world needs artists at every level of approachability and I'd say Ed is one of the more respectable names in the realm of bland music. At the same time, it is fascinating how a lot of the music with the most listeners nowadays is so mind-numbingly generic.
Brad, I love you, but you can't divide by zero to get infinity. Any number divided by zero is simultaneously trying to be infinity and negative infinity, which is undefined. Continue to grow, Brad. Much love
Please listen to an rhcp album (but I’d recommend blood s3x sugar magik or californication)
Brad I love you but the snoring bit is so loud that I can't even watch these with headphones anymore without blowing out an eardrum 😭😂
This sounds like weezer if they kept going in the direction that pinkerton goes in
I don’t care what anyone says, the single emotional songs on his albums are actually good. You got A-Team, Photograph, Supermarket Flowers, and Visiting Hours.

I find it hilarious that you start yawning after just thinking about it again.
Castle on the hill feels like when youre reading a recipe and the author just puts their entire life story before listing the ingredients
it's all kinda bland, but sometimes he makes really cute music. I hate his love songs(I'm not the target demographic for them lol), but Castle on the Hill and Visiting Hours are just adorable. Ik that Ed probably wasn't smoking at 15 or whatever, but I don't really care. it's cute and inoffensive, and sometimes I'm down
This album is so boring I fell asleep before he even played the first track.
I prefer Ed's rap singing songs. "Don't" is a favourite of mine.
