Fun fact: Liam gallagher was a big fan of Beatle George Harrison and he named the song "Wonderwall" after George's first album "Wonderwall Music". The reason I bring this up is because when George was asked about Oasis he basically said " ehh they're not really my thing, also that liam kid is kinda annoying ngl" Liam was so upset that he cussed out george in a later interview

I’ve stayed away from this reaction since it uploaded as I don’t want Brad ruining my adoration for Oasis that I had in my late teens and so still have a massive soft spot for! The thing about Oasis at the time, was it felt like a lot of what they sang about, was what you felt growing up in the UK. It was more a feeling to me when I listened or saw them live, than a genuinely impressive musical experience! Lol! I don’t know if I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve seen them live 14 times 😂 including the night they signed to Creation, the night Liam walked off stage and left Noel to do the gig without him as they’d been fighting (again!), the nights they could hardy string a sentence together due to ….., the night in Paris that Liam didn’t turn up at all - and all the epic gigs in between, T in the Park, Loch Lomond, Irvine Beach, Knebworth etc. Objectively speaking, I can see there were so many better bands in the 90’s, Shed Seven, The Verve, Blur, Charlatans, Stone Roses, Primal Scream etc. But there was just something about Oasis that seemed to resonate and I still don’t understand what it was!😂 Let’s dive in I suppose!

calling "Don't look back in anger" *solid* is crazy 💀
I half agree with you brad. I really like some oasis songs but they've never been my cup of tea. That being said, one thing I don't stand behind is the snobbery of hating on the simplicity of a certain pop/rock sound or production and ignoring everything else. I might not particularly enjoy how oasis sounds but I can recognice at times they were very creative and great composers of melodies and simple harmony.

Nah brad you can’t mock champagne supernova like that it’s so fucking beautiful
Their first two are their best albums. This one being way more commercial. Consider Definitely, Maybe someday. I think it’s more interesting and a great debut.
Oasis and Britpop in general was a bit of a kickback against the US grunge/punk invasion. It's like the anti-Nirvana. The throwback/Beatles element feeds into it. This is objectively fairly mediocre music but it is really connected to people who lived through that era. And nearly everyone in Britain knows some of their songs.

The Pillows, a Japanese alternative band most famous for the anime Fooly Cooly, were heavily influenced by Oasis, with it being most clear on their 1998 record "Little Busters." I can confidently say all their records do not sould like sharp sound trying to scream over one another, tho
Wonderwall is one of the catchiest songs of all time. I didn’t even know it existed until last year.

never reccomend brad an album, man this album goes so hard
I've read that much of the appeal of Oasis was that all the songs could easily be sung along to while drunk, which... tracks.
There's a slim chance Brad could enjoy Definitely Maybe, kinda for the same reason as the Arctics' debut - first album, just that new band fresh buzz about the songwriting and the production, etc etc But I don't have a spare £400 so I guess that will remain a hypothetical
just another brick in the wonderwall.

Basic info from questions and statements Brad was saying. Wonderwall, our beloved meme, was written for Noel Gallagher’s first wife Meg Mathews. Don’t Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova meant something to Noel when he wrote them though he’s long forgotten what so he considers what it means to the listener to be more important. Some Might Say is amazing because it’s a Definitely Maybe song. Still has the first drummer of the band, Tony McCarrol, playing on it before he got fired. Also, Definitely Maybe, Oasis’ first record, is far better and their best. Critics hated Morning Glory at first but when Wonderwall took off, they quickly corrected and started sucking off Oasis. Cast No Shadow is about Richard Ashcroft(singer for The Verve, the Bittersweet Symphony guys) dealing with his dad in the hospital. And yes, Oasis were obsessed with the Beatles, mainly Liam.
Champagne Supernova (Brad’s Version)
us sees something British: it's exactly like the beatles
