@@CrimKing161 Yep, as horrific as KZread's system is, the law itself is the problem. KZread softens the blow and helps copyright holders be relaxed by giving them options with sharing revenue rather than having them straight up sue you, but naturally there's a power imbalance there. (Fair use is an affirmative defense, they could still sue you and you have to prove them wrong) Copyright has valid uses (I don't think people should be able to straight up resell content for money without modification without the originator getting their appropriate share) but is largely incompatible with modern life (there's no issue of scarcity), hurts culture (remixes, memes, reviews..), and just overall sucks. It's generally used more as a weapon against criticism or to enforce bad policies that hurt paying customers (e.g. DRM) than anything else these days.

KZread allows companies to take action without giving creators channel strikes, therefore this was an intentional move for whatever reason.

As someone who’s dealt with youtube rejecting their automated strikes and penalties for years, it’s genuinely depressing that they to this day don’t have like a better system of addressing flaws in their takedown system for when you’re doing nothing wrong. A temporary solution for now would be to switch to another streaming service for now to ensure you don’t have all your eggs in one basket. That being said I hope youtube team at least resolves this huge flaw in their takedown system.

It's also corrosive to people trying to make and share their art. I had to deal with a copyright "violation" a few months back over a track that used a 12-bar blues pattern, a progression that's considered uncopyrightable due to its age and ubiquity. So I had a pretty clear case with which to appeal the strike, and the rights holders didn't even bother rejecting my appeal, they just sat on it for a month and then the ruling defaulted to me. Heck, they probably didn't even notice the claim was made on their behalf, they probably get 20 copyright notifications a day and can't be bothered. So I technically won the case through the power of sheer negligence, but that didn't stop them sitting on me for a month, giving no indication of what was going to happen next.

Really sad to see you go through this man, as someone who's been demonetized, lost thousands of dollars, and been actively suppressed from KZread's algorithm numerous times this video hits really hard. A lot of people know that KZread's copyright system is bad but a lot of people don't realize JUST HOW BAD it gets. People have to fight long unnecessary battles for their own livelihood over false claims, strikes, reports, etc... and unless you're a MASSIVE channel with direct connections or you manage to somehow make a loud enough complaint about it, it's infinitely harder to sort it out because they almost never actually help. Hope everything gets sorted out though man, you deserve better than this.

I can't even explain how terrible i feel for you you will remain to be one of the most important youtubers to exist for me and you will remain a legend for me aswell i hope everything will become alright since this genuinely made me cry aswell

I was a moderator for a music reviewer/reactor here on KZread that went by the name of Sarg Barz similar to what you do, he eventually had to start uploading content on Twitch because of the amount of copyright strikes he was getting on his main channel which prevented him from even uploading content. Mind you this was back in 2019 proving that KZreads copyright system has been broken for the longest time and its even gotten worse. It got so bad to the point where even Twitch started to remove his content for simply reviewing/reacting to music. He doesn't upload anymore but I really believe he'd still be making content and making a living off of what he enjoyed doing if it weren't for this broken system.

This is the first time I’ve seen a KZreadr cry & have people sympathise with them, and the comments here are super cool too I wish I could give you a hug Bradley, you definitely need one

earlier this year my office was cutting down employees like it was nothing. while i was lucky to not be one of the people who got fired. it was such a stressful time for everyone in the company. i hope you find a way to move forward doing what you do man. maybe talk it out with other veterans like fantano or todd that know more about how to go forward with your content. times like these reaching out to others is all you can do

did he? has any AOTY artist he covered been able to financially make it into comfort via his coverage? he's great for exposure but especially considering the streaming-brained younger audience he has, unsure that that really converts consistently into tickets sold or actual albums bought

warner are bottom of the barrel scum next to nintendo in regards to dishing out strikes. i once got a one from WB for using no more than 5 seconds' worth of copyrighted material, and while not on par to losing an entire career it's still enough to be damaging. it's infuriating that giant corporations can just wipe channels out like this

its not even that it doesn't hurt their business, it literally helps it. i've discovered a ton of music through brad's channel & streams; reaction channels literally get people who would have otherwise never seen/heard something to go actually check it out. im praying for every warner executive to go to hell

Just so you know, your content has seriously inspired me in my music, not just in terms of what you point out in your reviews but also the standards to set for my own music, how to make authentic music without selling out or being fake. This situation is extremely unfair, it's infuriating to see greedy rich people try to crush someone's life for no reason. Obviously this value I'm sending will not by itself help significantly, but I hope in some way it contributes to alleviate this blow or fight back against the injustice. This is so hard to watch. Seeing someone cry because their livelihood is threatened (ESPECIALLY with how things are economically right now) over a review…literally doing NOTHING wrong, is awful. The fact that they barely looked at your appeal before denying it..,.which is unfortunately something I’ve seen before, is so disgusting. I hope hope hope that you can find some support. As some other people have said, I think talking to Fantano and some other creators who have ABSOLUTELY had to go through this bullshit couldn’t hurt. This website has been so broken for so long.
