This is a great tip, this happened to me today on a project and I had thought the only way to fix it was to change the interpolation of first keyframe to hold. Cheers Ross

Good tip - strangely enough happens across most digital animation software. Though...The most annoying AE glitch I've seen, and unaware of a fix: Make a straight line using pen tool. No fill. Just stroke. Go back to normal selection tool. Now, try and select the line in the viewer by clicking on it.

I think the worst glitch in After Effects is when you've been sat down all day and your bum ring is really sore, itchy and sweaty.

Ross GIRL! Please tell me this works for lip syncing because whenever I'm lip sync the mouth shapes change and I end up with doubles of the same mouth shape on different key frames :(

It's like gimbal lock in 3D, but Adobe somehow managed to fuck it up in 2D.

I run into this problem in Premiere a lot as well, any suggestions?

Easy ease slopes your graph because it needs to ease in and out. The slope represents the two factors driving the animation. Its basically "Time x position" So when you use it between two key frames of the same value it spaz's out. It happens in maya as well. I think that's the more technical way to say it? Do you use action scripts at all?

Ross, I have the same software as you and when I'm editing and holding control to listen to the audio, why does it play 3 seconds of audio repeating when im holding still while pressing control? (if that makes sense)

linear spacial interpolation.... it means how do you want the space (aka position) between keyframes to be handled. Do you want it to be bezier (aka smoothed lines between keyframes) or linear (aka straight lines between keyframes). Specific terminology exists for a reason, to be specific about things. No other words could describe linear spacial interpolation as accurately or as briefly

well what about a glitsh where after efects only want to ram priview 1s and then when you want to do it again it only loads 1 fream and it stops and it wont want to ram priview again untill you re-open after effects

Pretty sure I've ran into this problem with keyframes in Premiere Pro. I don't think you can fix it in that program unfortunately.

+David The Gnome I should specify it defaults to linear, but if you want silky transitions in bezier it seems like a persistent issue you will run into.

I had an issue too with animating the mouths as you did in the dinosaur tutorial. So I typed in 00:00:00:07 for the 7th mouth, you know, and then, for some reason, I had the 8th mouth or something like that. I hope you understand what I mean. Instead of the mouth that I wanted, I always got the next one. At the beginning everything was ok but at some point it just was brainfuck :D Maybe you know how to fix it.

Think I had same problem I had a key frame of a picture moving I could not figure it out to save me just accidentally found this video solve my problem early, matter fact I don’t think I had a key frame it was moving despite the hundreds of glitches , I thought it was the camera moving was why they moving my shit by default smh 🤦🏾‍♀️

The graph editor is the easiest way for an animator to look/sound like a genius. "Ah yes, the linear bezier would likely be the best interpolation for this scenario." (Continues animating boobies)

It's not really a "glitch" but it is a common problem that some people don't know how to deal with so i thought i'd be helpful.

Yea I hate when I do easy ease animation and when you preview it, the part which was perfectly fine gets fucked up. Nice explanation btw dont understand why the Fuck would anyone even wanna use dis feature, they could atleast put it checked by default ffs

This is not a glitch! You have to set the keyframes to linear!
