    Was It Something I Said was so disappointing. The thing is that I'm not sure why, it just seems that there was no real energy in the show. Great host, great guests... perhaps it was simply the concept? Or the editing, making the game more important than the banter (which has never been how panel shows work). Though I'm sure it was sad for David that it didn't work out, I'm still glad he wasn't tied to it for longer. Hope to see him host a better panel show some time.

    @@edwardv1255 I think it was a combination of 3 things: The concept was definitely part of it. It just wasn't that funny. I also think that, as much as he's talented, Richard Ayoade did not make a great team captain, and isn't actually that comfortable at improv. And this one will be controversial, but I don't think David's a good choice as host. You don't want him delivering lines from a prompter, you want him riffing on a panel. It had a lot of incredibly talented pieces, just arranged in the wrong order and used badly.

    So if anyone was wondering, the reason Jimmy could accept the name Dr. Donald Blake for Thor’s name is because in one of Thor’s comics, he lost his powers and memory, becoming essentially human, and he thought he was Dr. Donald Blake. I can’t quite remember, but I believe it was Loki’s doing at the time. Most things that happen to Thor can be blamed on Loki, quite honestly.

  • @asterix7842

    @asterix7842

    3 жыл бұрын

    Actually in the early comics, Dr Blake is Thor’s alter ego. He finds a walking stick and discovers that striking it on the ground turns him into Thor so he alternates between Thor and Dr. Blake. I just looked on Wikipedia and what I didn’t realize is that Odin had erased his memory and sent him to Earth to live as a mortal to teach him a lesson in humility.
