"It's a good tea today, we've got jelly!" "That is a plant!" "No it's not, it's a tin of pineapples!" The world needs this kind of comedy back! I met Ronnie Barker, he had an antique shop near my mums house, my dad took me to meet him. Total gent!

Matt Parkes He was nothing like Harry Grout. He was very polite and softly spoken and although he spoke for a few minutes he was a bit uncomfortable A real gentleman.
"Why is your hat standing to attention?" Great acting, great scripts. Comedy at its best.😂
"Is this the tin that's missing?" "That's the one sir." "Good." Class, utter class. The kind of class that is long since gone in this day and age.
Brilliant show, great actors and character's. Very funny 🤣. One of my all time favourites. Timeless classics.
The best comedy ever off the BBC. God bless Ronnie Barker
The scene at the end of this episode contains probably my fave line from the entire series: Fletcher: "That is a plant!" Mackay: "No it's not, it's a tin of pineapples!" lol Classic comedy at it's finest. xD

what did they need that tin of Pineapple pieces for exactly where they going to use it to make a pie? or was the guards just checking to see how many tins of it was in stock?
@MrSniperfox29
2 жыл бұрын
@@eliotreader8220 Fletcher stole them originally because he wanted a good desert. Unfortunately for him, Barraclough found them during a RSC and feeling he owned Fletcher a favour, hid them with intent on returning them. Unfortunately for him, his wife found them forced him to eat them, leading to Barraclough replacing them with a new can (that Fletcher had to pay for0 at this point. The best of the ending is, MacKay nicks Fletcher for stealing, but leaves the can with Godber who then tries to eat them himself.
Timeless comedy that's like a good wine it gets better with age. They don't and won't make them like this anymore

What i love about this is when godber is mentioned as far as mckay is concerned yes its defo him 😂
The '' Just Desserts ''episode is a comic masterpiece, watch the whole thing if you get the chance....!
Favourite Porridge episode. This scene is brilliant.
This would make you smile on the sadness of a day....wonderful xx
Lukewarm to Godber - Your not going to escape are you ? We have a good lunch today, we’ve got jelly! Brilliant.
Lukewarm...actor Christopher Biggins still going strong at age 75..
Love, love, love, Porridge, absolute class, humorous look at british prison in the 60/70s so close to how prison was the characters the decor of the scenes, marvelous, you know i could never look at jock screw without thinking. about mckay, yes i done a little time, Porridge is just a humorous reminder of what was, Fletch you was a good egg till the end. Lol Skulduggery.
RIP Sam Kelly
Mr. MacKay reminds me of my Dad who was a military man of Scots extraction. He had a much better sense of humor than MacKay but he could also be intimidatingly strict. Great show with lots of fond memories.

Best comedy ever!
Along with Yes, Minister/Prime Minuster , my favourite sitcom.
This, Sgt Bilko, the first three series of Only fools, Minder and of course Going Straight are without a doubt the best comedies to ever grace television

Thanks, bosskat57 - I had no idea he was Kate Beckinsale's father! I've just favourited a video that I found where she talks about him and they show more clips of him and her mother. Didn't realise that actress was her mother either!
