@Michael Freed Unfortunately I haven't seen Citizens United and on the point that people behave like they're ignorant I agree with you. but is it really ignorance ? or just how smart chimps would act , i don't think evolution ever prepared us for life under our current circumstances , with complexity we're facing , I think people just really care about their most vital needs . I think government & whole system should change because, obviously it doesn't work and should never put the blame on those people who are in those positions . That's just scapegoat used by ALL ideologies such as ( capitalism, socialism,any particular religion, etc) I believe we both have same goals and different approaches so I'm 100% with you . I had a spiritual awakening 6 years ago, and I genuinely wondered if I broke out of the matrix. Since then, I see patterns in behavior and see through anything fake. That includes things as subtle as when someone has had plastic surgery, to the persona covering up who the person really is. This is a documentary.

It’s sometimes hard not to focus on just the negatives that came with it but there are a lot of positives too. If you don't mind me asking, what was your spiritual awakening like? Mine happened in about 3 dreams. Before that i had been on year long struggles to find myself (sometimes having little sparks of enlightenment along the way), battling with severe depression, anxiety, feeling lost, intrusive thoughts of my worst fears and lucid dreams of them.

Cypher meaning 0 and being the polar opposite of Neo and 1 just blew my mind. At the end of the day they're the 2 poles that exist within us. You could say the lower and higher selves, the hedonistic drive towards satisfying the urges of the body versus the higher drive and belief in the unseeable reality of the soul and living your purpose. What a beautiful representation of human consciousness the matrix is, 23 years later and deeper and deeper layers keep coming to the surface..

Not sure how to put into words what I'm feeling. I cried during this analysis because it just touches upon something that's so universal and human that the media and society has repressed, and it's a relief to have that validated. We all have the power to create our own reality. And I think giving everyone that power might just be the collapse of hierarchies. And that's why the people who hold the power don't want others to become self-aware of just how much potential they have. Thank you for this video. It gave me clarity and reminded myself that was most important thing in life is not making money or becoming successful, but self-actualization and loving one another.

I don't think the society activelly repress the "Create you own reality thing". I mean just search in KZread and you will find millions of videos about the subject, despite Ytb being THE media of Internet. Following your argument Ytb should actively repress thoses videos. Also don't forget Matrix was published by Warner Bros in 1999 ! If the power that be repressed this kind of ideas, i doubt a company like Warner Bros would publish a movie like Matrix. Also the Matrix philosophy isn't new, the doubts about the reality being true and the power of chosing ones lives dates back to ancient days where philosphers were actively discusing those ideas.

I feel like most of what can be said about the matrix from a philosophical perspective has already been said, so I just want to point out how inspirational neo is to me personally. As someone who has always questioned and doubted his abilities and intellectualized his fears abstractly rather than confront them directly, stories like this about people simply choosing to embrace a radical self belief in spite of uncertainty are extremely motivating. I’m trying to change my primary method of thinking to something along these lines. To simply believe without having to know.

When I first got a copy of The Matrix I was about 14 I think and it blew my mind. I’ve watched the movie on repeat all day seeing something new every time. I still watch it and realize, see or understand something new all over again. This movie is like a masterpiece painting with its codes and secrets that you can unlock only when you figure it out.

Have you read the books the film is based on?

Amazing analysis that explains the process of how Neo becomes the one as a character. He is a character who starts off clueless and uncertain about life, and gains confidence and perception, this development may be subtle but when you look into it this film it is about how he gradually gains control of his life by seeing the truth and freeing his mind and ultimately believing in himself. And this arc motivates us too.

This must be *the* best analysis of this movie that I've ever seen. Something that fascinated me since the first time I saw this movie was Smith's idea about how humanity can't survive without conflict. The first versions of the Matrix were perfect, without wars, starvation, or pain, or anything remotely bad. But by removing conflict, the idea of opposition of what exists, this left the humans incomplete, unable to function properly. This idea of duality was always incredible to notice on the movies. Light and Darkness, Humanity and Machinery, One and Many, and many other examples. Brilliant.

Only one word can describe this movie....MONUMENTAL. I lived in Toronto once and ran into a movie editor in a bar after work. I told him about this movie having just seen it and he laughed. I dont remember the french movie he suggested but 20 years later and we are still discussing it. I knew it was based on french philosophy which is why it has such depth.

The “Matrix” is the everyday life we live and those who have realized their “oneness” are able to change their lives as they see fit.

I watched matrix all three parts back to back 100s of time on my computer when I was in college. It was so much into it. I am excited about the 4th part.

@@cautarepvp2079 So we're on the same page, by "this movie", I assume we talking about "the matrix". If you happen to be a bit paranoid or narcissistic, this movie feeds into the idea that everything you thought was real is fake. I'm sure it does not affect everyone the same. But if you have felt a bit overwhelmed all your life or wonder why you're not as successful as you expected to be, this movie tells you its not you're fault, you're not in control, THEY run everything and THEY don't like you. That kind of thing appeals to people who's lives feel out of control. And so they fall for it.

Greatest Film Ever? Lol. Lol Lol. Neo is akin to my left nut. Or is it my right nut? Ahhhhhh, nevertheless, my point is that The Matrix is a good, maybe great movie, but the best ever is a stretch. Still, it's all subjective. To each his own.

One of the best videos on KZread…well done !

For almost 2.5 decades I have been so drawn to The Matrix, never knowing 100% why. But over recent years and countless great docus like this one, I can say that I have stepped into and engulfed myself with its teaching.

Neo doesn't represent the "only" one, he represents the "everyone". We must all realize and live TRUTH.

We have inherited rules and ideologies from a civilization that crumbled down to it's own inability to sustain because their system wasn't successful. We have followed idea and adopted them and applied to our own system and these ideas seem faulty. It's time we remove the old system, ideas that dont serve the betterment of mankind and build a new one that suits the world of today because were still clinging to old ideas when these ideas dont serve us and have only caused chaos. Mankind, entered the era in the early 1900s that thinkers were just eager to make the headline but have no care for its effects later on. Knowledge is power but if used with a destructive intention it will cause chaos.

I was lucky to have a father to teach me self awareness, so growing up I noticed I was different from everyone. I was seeing kids my age believed in things the system wants to believe and I saw that it was wrong and it felt like a robot. Like believing in Santa Claus, to me it felt like they use it to make kids have their parents spend money, and the money the parents got from came from big corporation. I saw the cycle. They use this cycle to keep the parents working and away from the kids so the system can program them.

This movie came out the same year I was born, so growing up I heard of it and never watched it, until last year around November or December of 2021. Movie is very powerful. 🙌🏾

Indeed!🙏 And I'll have to add, that I find the Matrix🔢 to be quite a captivating film full of phliosophies🧠💗, conflicts💥 and struggles👥 in fighting for freedom✊ in the oppressive system🔄 in the future run by the AI🤖 (where its human rebels like Neo🕴 question it which I really love💡). Although the First Movie🔢 really was clear with Neo🕴 being freed from this AI's grasp🤖 in the digital realm🌐 with his goal to free others next, the following two films messed up the plot and the elements of the film with Neo🕴 being part of this "larger plan" and ulimately became a slave of it instead by written fate - not by free will, which he had to undergo constant loopholes🔂. There was no freeing of people in the following two, not much of discovering being done in the Matrix system🔄 and overall, I feel sad that the following two had to be filmed this way as it is stuck and the plot isn't progressing much. If only the direction of these two had followed the first1️⃣🔢: ⭕With Neo🕴 in the second film2️⃣🔢, staying true in embarking on his quest on liberating the slaves and explores this Physical World🌎 (as he is freed from the Digital World🌐 with his own OP abilites in the previous, and it would make sense why he would explore the physical next). He will see the real hardware machines🤖 and the peoples👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 (of Zion) which they will prepare for war⚔. ⭕Whereas in the third3️⃣🔢, the war⚔💥 will begin with Neo🕴returning back into the Digital World🌐 ran by the virtual machines which coded it in its software and Neo will wreak it whilst others will fight off in the meantime on the real Physical World🌎. Neo will die as an sacrifice for all machines of this digital Matrix system which run under this software is destroyed and so will he with it. Its thinking like this that is dangerous. So many examples to the contrary. Murdering people will generate huge resistance. Yes, it holds power of transforming into anything, but this power is mere potential, not actualized yet. To acquire power and win the game, the fool must make a sacrifice of this power and become _something._ It's as you "call" the Joker as some other card when you draw it, transforming it and sacrificing its power to be any card in order to win. Ultimately nothing can't _be._ Both Cypher and Neo, I believe, were "fools". The only difference is that Neo was willing to sacrifice and therefore was reborn as the One. Cypher was not: he enjoyed the bliss of ignorance and was not ready for hardship and sorrow that comes with actualizing one's own potential. And the time when he couldn't _be_ no more has come.

I realized the opposite: thinking is actually what's keeping neo caged, limited, etc. It was about accepting yourself, who you are not by what others say, or demand of you, and letting yourself be what you really are, and let the "who you are" be someone else's problem. This is the way to freedom.

@Hob NobRubbish! He's terrific in the right role and he's had plenty of those. I think it's just a boring band-wagon that some people like to jump on - one person once said he was pants in a role (probably Bram Stoker's Dracula - which I am willing to pay) and so everyone just followed like sheep.

This was THE BEST goddamn explanation for the film I've ever come across! I could never fully put all of it into words myself, but this explains every single detail so clear and perfectly. It always bothers me how people misinterpreted Neo being the one. Anybody could have been the one, so technically, what the Oracle tells him is true. But Neo was the first who truly allowed himself to believe it. Nobody can tell me this isn't one of the best movies that have ever been made. Now, who thumbed down this damn video 😒

I always felt the Oracle has a quantum computer brain. It was almost as if she could read the matrix code around her as if it was particles. She was able to predict NEO was going to knock over the vase simply because she knew there was a high probability NEO would knock over the vase when she said "And dont mind the vase". The only reason he knocked over the vase was because she mentioned it. The vase would of never been broken if she didn't say nothing at all. She has always been part of the system and it was she that created the modern day matrix where choice is a factor in keeping people inside the matrix. It was her job to free "The One" . She had empathy towards humans and programs a like is what truly freed them both. At the end of Revolutions, the Architect walk up to her and said "You Win" as if the whole thing was a bet between them the entire time. The architect is not as powerful as the Oracle simply because she can understand and read human emotions (Love) which was a main subject in "Matrix Reloaded" (Karma subject). The machines predicted that the system of control would work simply because humans think logically like machines and will always choose survival over anything. What broke this cycle was Love. Because NEO loved trinity so much that he made the choice to save her instead of Zion and the survival of the human race which ultimately led to the stale mate in Matrix Revolution between Machines, Programs and Humans.

Imagine if every human being on the globe was as curious as Neo.

And combat skills are metaphor for the ability to see the truth even when other people/agents are telling and believing in the agenda of the elite of the world which is trying to keep and develop the matrix.

I agree. This is why he is copying himself in the sequels, to reflect how Ego is expanding to various areas of life. How our own desires and convictions are projected on all situations and people we meet. And to certain point it makes us "stronger", just like Smith becomes. Because then we have a strong platform, as Gupt Raj above me said, at which we base our beliefs and understand the world. But at the end, when we reach the point where we see connections between different variables of the world (such as humans and phenomenons), we realize, that it is not based on our Ego, but on The One, The Source, which we also are, but not in the, well, egoistic, greedy way as from the perspective of the Ego. This is how I see the meaning of the whole story and the ending of the Revolutions ;) So when the Smith (Ego) takes over the Neo (the enlightented Self), he realizes it is over, as there is nothing more for Ego to feed on. So the Ego needs to end, and The Oneness doesn't need to feed on anything, as it just Is.

The Matrix is government. The belief in government is THE mind prison (stockholm syndrome). The blue pill represents sacrificing safety for security, and being content in being an obedient slave to government. The red pill represents the wisdom to know right from wrong objectively (the forbidden tree or deontological ethics), which leads to opening the eyes and seeing the once-invisible matrix for the prison that it is (when one realizes that political power is illegitimate, he/she can see the coding). The agents are government officials/enforcers and propagandists who want to keep the populous subservient to the system, and keep them believing in the legitimacy of government. The agents possessing normal people and replicating into new agents represents the extent of government brainwashing in which the slaves fully emulate their masters in behavior and thought. NEO represents every potential person who will eventually come across the red pill (forbidden fruit) and one day become a principled anarchist (one who believes in true freedom and not government). Morpheus and his team represent current anarchists who are woke and actively teaching people about anarchism, and freeing people from the mind-prison (belief in government). The multitude of sleeping humans in incubators represents those who are not awake (are brainwashed by government since young age). The robots exploiting the sleeping humans for energy represents government extorting our hardearned money in the form of taxes without consent. The Oracle represents our inner consciousness in the back of our minds that consults us before we take action. The keymaker represents whistleblowers who open for us secret and inaccessible doors of government. The agents shooting at NEO (government shooting at dissidents) and NEO stopping the bullets represents an armed populous that can withstand government onslaught. NEO seeing the coding represents finally seeing politics itself for what it is: an illusion made of lies that is packaged as a legitimate construct in order for some humans (the ruling class) to have control over people. NEO running and entering the agent and then bursting him apart represents a fed-up populous that overthrows the tyrannical regime. The two agents who looked at each other and ran separate ways represents politicians who flee when their regime has fallen.

@@narottamkumar1575 Marxism requires government force to sustain it because no thinking person would embrace it voluntarily. This is far from a marxist interpretation. Now to answer your question, perhaps the word that you meant to use is chaos (i.e., without government there might be chaos). Anarchy simply means without rulers (not chaos). It comes from the Greek words An (without) Archos (ruler/master). Now would there be chaos without government? Well if you snapped your fingers and erased all of the current governments, yes there would be chaos. That's because people are used to the concept of government; they aren't used to true freedom where no one is bossing them around. Which is why it's important to first teach people about freedom instead of overthrowing government. If you overthrow government, another will just take its place. But if you teach enough people about freedom and anarchy, then people could just ignore government laws and it'll just collapse like the USSR.

This movie had a profound impact on me when it came out, I was already "aware" but this was like joining the dots in neon! This movie I think is even more relevant now. More people need to take the red pill.
