The original Subnautica was released mid-2014. Other companies would have dropped the game and left it to rot, but the fellas from the subnautica team would never do such a thing!

I literally went from 30 fps swimming around in the mushroom forest to 120fps with the same settings I had. They really surpassed all my expectations. It's insane. I never seen such a massive performance improvement in any game before.

@@_ch1pset Is the terrain, grass, objects etc pop in issue resolved? What are your PC specs? Last time I played on my 1070 ti, there were noticeable pop in issues.

Some bug fixes: No more clicking five times every time I change the battery for the Seaglide. Just “Press F” to turn the map off. The Air Bladder now works much better and has it’s own oxygen supply. (I think the wildlife is affected when I use it, though, particularly the Floaters; they seem to plummet a little every time I use it to ascend.) And, as far as I can tell, my Prawn suit no longer falls through the floor of the map when it failed to load in. You can rotate the Moonpool now when you are placing it before building. One bad thing though: The Table Coral only gives you one now when you slice it, instead of the three to five it used to!

I’m glad there’s a dedicated button to turn the map off now, before I had to cycle between map and light, light off map on, then map off light on. The map never really helped me, it just got in the way, so I’m glad I can easily turn it off now like in below zero

The table coral thing is weird. I remember it used to only give one per plate, except in Lost River where it usually split into two. It was only about a year ago it did that for safe shallows plates.

Age of Empires 2 comes to mind as another, with new expansions and updates : ), why not improve what already works right?.

I love this update, not just because of what has been added, but because now for some reason my frames on Subnautica went up from 15 to roughly 45 or 60.

For me my frames drop now when i pilot seamoth and the movement isn't as smooth as it was before the update.

@@darkdragonpl9229 I'm on pc and I've noticed the seamoth now has a slight delay when turning left and right however the camera is now fixed where it used to be angled weird sometimes, I much prefer slight delay over having to re-enter the seamoth to get the camera straight

Couple things I've noticed playing this update. 1. Prawn suit didn't get stuck inside the alien bases. 2. The large room fits in the alien moonpool. Things I wish ported over... 1. The control room 2. Highlighting objects

2014 This game is over 8, almost 9 YEARS OLD And still, this GOATED dev team is still putting out consistent updates, polishing the game, fixing a plethora of bugs and glitches It’s honestly very admirable, how dedicated the team is to Subnautica and Below Zero. I’ll be as patient as I have to be, I’ll always wait for another update from these lads

See this is why I love the dev team, they listen to the feedback and work on the glitches and issues. GameFreak happily releases one third cooked Pokémon games, then dismisses or outright ignores the criticism. Unknown Worlds, you’ve got integrity and it is very noticed and appreciated.

I bought this game six years ago. The fact that I haven't spent another cent on it and I've still gotten more content and fixes in that time is astounding. Reminds me of No Man's Sky.

Yeah, lesser games like Ark keeps giving us whole new maps with new animals and mechanics, while proud Subnautica's team copied a building and a transparent top from their other game it's just insane content.

Unknown Worlds is seriously one of the best, if not THE best game dev team out there. You can literally see the amount of passion and dedication they have for their games, which is unbelievably rare in the modern gaming world, where most games are littered with ingame transactions and other ridiculous ways to squeeze more and more money out of you

Well there are quite a few actually. Re Logic (terraria), techland (both dying lights), and undead labs (state of decay 2). Just to name some off the top of my head. So it's not as rare as you think. Such passion is just mostly found in the AA market.

they do make subnautica 3 . they officialy posted that in a way of job offerings .

also the new update (for pc at least) includes the ability to pin a recipe to your screen so you dont forget what you need, and bars that clearly show what battery life you have left in each tool.

I love this update! I've already put a glass dome on my Quarantine Enforcement Platform house, and I can see the gun tip pretty well through it. Working on making a large room with glass dome so I can see the reaper I've stuffed in the mushroom cave.

I did my first ever Subnautica playthrough about a month ago. I’m glad to hear that they’ve fixed the glitch where prawn suits randomly get stuck inside the alien bases. Makes me want to go back and get all the achievements since I used dev commands to spawn in a prawn suit after it clipped through the terrain

Something I realised is that they also fixed the glitch with the doors that could make walk underwater/swim in ur base. When I was a bit younger, I used to be absolutely terrified of this game, and I barely went outside of the safe area. Recently though, I started playing subnautica: below zero, and I have to say that it is one of my favorite games now. Really makes a difference when you realize how short the attention span of enemies are
