Honestly, ignoring the fact that this clearly wasn't how the game was intended to be played so of course the physics engine would curl up and sob, that plan should've worked. There's an entire bloody island held up by overgrown floaters. Within the canon of the game's own logic, that plan should've been perfect

How the lifepod sinks into the ground reminds me of how I lost my first two seamoths, (or technically the 2nd and 3rd if I count the one I lost because my game crashed after not saving for a while) by crashing them on the island with the quarantine enforcement platform is and then they sunk into the ground

I assume how it works is that the floaters freeze the physics of an object they are attached too so the boulders they stick to don't fall through the map when you go far away from them. Because floaters lose their floatyness when you go far from them

The water IS there, it's the player that gets the "on land" effect only. The water's there it's just invisible...

I cant believe you left us on a cliff hanger like that D: this series seems like it'll be fun though. Good luck with getting into the primary containment facility lol

Very interested in the mvb solution you talked about at the end, we had one involving some weird stuff with bases and the water level but I don't know whether that works with this mod : P (and also had a swimming animation so i didnt want to use it in in my run). Good luck!

One of my favorite things about oddball challenges like this for any game is the unexpected curveballs you get hit with. Things you never expected to be a problem initially (like the creepvines being rather tall plants) suddenly become a major issue to deal with. It's sort of like how in a normal minecraft world, blocks like dirt or lava are a dime a dozen, but if you get tossed into a skyblock world, those things are suddenly the most valuable possessions you own. Just accessing normal areas in a no-water challenge becomes expedition planning, bc you have to figure out how the hell you're going to get out again
