Towards the end of the Korean War, elements of the Black Watch Regiment was marching towards the docks at Pusan, on their way home. The bagpipes could be heard for miles. It was an incredible sight. I shall never forget that parade. USMC (Retired)

Dutch Real patriots don’t pick and choose what governments they fought for as they know that in the end it’s the nation that they fought for not the government nor invidious citizens who may or may not know or agree with your notion of Americanism. You know fuck all what Americanism is and by the sound of you you ain’t no patriot either. End of.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’ve always loved the pipes and drums, since seeing it on TV as a child, of all things a advertisement for Dewars! After that I recall seeing several movies with Scots in them. I put going to Scotland on my bucket list even before I knew what a bucket list was and we went in 2019, just before COVID arrived. Thank God that we were able to go. Edinburgh and the Castle were amazing. Next on the list is to experience the Tattoo. I already own 8 kilts and love wearing them on hikes and such. If I could I’d retire to the highlands in Scotland.

I grew up in Edinburgh and my Mum, Dad and a few friends were going to the Tattoo. I was probably about 7 or 8. Gran was to look after us. I was just getting in to bed and my Dad comes in, "Do you want to go to the Tattoo? Put on as many warm clothes as you can". Being young I put on two pairs of trousers about three jumpers and a coat, hat and gloves (I lived in Scotland. Even at a young age, if someone says it's going to be cold then you know the thing is real). This was in the early 80's and if I had had a space suit then it would have been the best option. Whoever designed the seating was either a sadist or didn't know what the wind is like in Edinburgh. It blows under your legs I've said to people who were in a bad way before, " At least your not stood in an Edinburgh bus-stop in February". It was probably the most magical thing I have ever seen as a child. The castle, the sound, the smell of gunpowder, the fireworks and cheering and the crowd carrying you along and all good natured and happy smiles.

Outstanding! This is the most amazing footage of the massed Pipes & Drums & the Edinburgh Tattoo that I have ever seen! It felt like we were right there amongst the Pipes & Drums! Nothing can beat the haunting swirl of the bagpipes to arouse emotions. After all the were the prelude to battle in olden times.

We all like to hear a pipe band as they keep to tradition...one of kind
My dad played the pipes in the sea forth Highlanders I can see him playing in the band brings back great memories sheer magic
As a true scot we will always stand side by side with anyone who needs our help, But god help you if you turn against us, as we will fight till the last man and woman to defend what is right.. . GO IN PEACE..
