One of the manhatten project guys drove around with a fully functional nuke in his trunk. he built it himself, "acquired" the piece of machined and refined uranium/plutonium needed to make it work, and put THAT piece in the bank. In New York City. So he was always one trip to the bank away from nuking manhatten. The military apparently decided to just reprimand him for it, claiming he would just find a way to get another nuclear pit and make another bomb if he wanted.

This was the era where radium PAINT was a thing. The era where chemists would document how their droplet of chemical formula violently shattered its metal container at -85 degrees celsius when poked, and happily followed up by trying to poke it again at WARMER temperatures. The era where we had nukes on UNGUIDED air to air missiles. As time went on a LOT of stuff would have been clamped down on.

"No, It wasn't me, it was the one armed man." "Alright I confess! I did it you hear, and I'm glad, GLAD I tell you!" "What are they gonna do to me Sarge? What are they gonna do?!" Denial, Confession and Regret all in the space of 15 seconds. I love it.

1:36 that little laugh that he does before he runs kills me every time 😂😂 just because it was so fast and unexpected before he takes off so abruptly 😂😂😂

I distinctly remember the French dub had the "freeze" part translated really cleverly. There's no one-syllable word in French for "freeze" as a command, so just when Callaway is offscreen, he's made to say "I'll ice you if you move!" and only later tells him to put his hands up. Only for Ipkiss to go "I can't, you just iced me." For added fun, Callaway then tells him "Alright, unfreeze. You got ten seconds." and then "You're punctual. You win two pretty bracelets!"

I love how The Mask goes from denial when he sees those eyeball glasses, to admitting that he has a permit for the bazooka, which shows that after going to the Coco Bongo, he uses some of the money he stole from the bank to buy a bazooka and get a permit for it, which shows how he goes from a troublemaking, wild, chaotic and disorderly small name criminal to a troublemaking, wild, chaotic, but orderly big name superhero. I also love how he treats Tina nicely and cares about her and loves her like Stanley, with him showing affection and kindness to her, along with being a charming, polite, cheerful, well-mannered gentleman to Tina despite doing it too strongly and wildly at first, and possibly becoming friends with Kellaway’s wife as well, to the point that he gets her phone number on her picture that she gives him.

For all we know he could start shooting webs from his wrists like Spiderman does anytime and use his cartoony abilities to climb walls using plungers or something. this is probably my favorite scene, it makes me still laugh although I'm 19 and rewatched this scene atleast 5 times
