Meanwhile minorities don't fuck with it especially after marvel disrespected us with wakanda forever so basically movies get made for 80 year old out of touch execs or 80 year old out of touch Oscar voters and everyone not part of those groups and not desperately seeking their validation are just shut out if luck

For the thousand time, she clearly meant it wasn’t exclusively for the old white critics who review all the movies… not that audiences from different backgrounds couldn’t enjoy. A western cowboy movie is aimed at white people and those who love westerns, so why would Asians only review the movie?? 🤨 sure, there will be Asians n Latinos who might love westerns but that doesn’t mean the targeted audience isn’t mostly white people n western lovers. You cry too much about wanting better representation n critic on movies who aren’t exactly aimed at old white men.

the real disturbing thing about this trend is that the inability to 'identify' with a person who's not literally just you but in a fantasy means you lack basic human empathy. And the lack of empathy is one of the major red flags when it comes to diagnosing a psychopath So it's not hyperbolic to say hollywood's goal at the moment seem to be to breed a generation of psychopaths purely so the people in hollywood can feel better about their own lack of basic human empathy we've come so far as a species, haven't we?

No. It was way before that. It all started with a dumbass tweet Larson made with Entertainment Magazine. Something about “Hey @Entertainment, want to break the internet?” And I think she was trying to allude to her announcement on being Captain Marvel for the MCU. Of course the internet was like, “who the eff are you?” And “Nah, internet still not broken”. After that, followed by all her other interviews alongside the MCU cast and their reactions towards her. Then Captain Marvel came out, and how that movie was so damn cringe and how in your face that agenda was. All of that ironically ruined that “all female” Endgame scene, as that scene was suppose to be referenced to the “A-Force” Marvel Comics series. So if anything at all, that all female shot was ruined by Larson alone.

The whole "representation" is actually a very strange angle from Disney: Disney was a company primarily producing for girls! All the princess movies and Disneyland is primarily targeting a young female audience, and all their male-centered movies (Robin Hood or whatever) were way less successful. When they got Marvel it was a chance for them to effectively cover both girls and boys. However, they act as if there were no girl-centered shows ever and such a groundbreaking move to have a princess movie - but it makes no sense to eliminate the male audience.

Because catering to men is misogynistic. That is all there is to it. Men don't get to have stuff that appeals to them unless it is put through the process of editing it for a modern audience. Granted women have to be exactly like men in these movies but that is the sacrifice we have to make so we can end patriarchy or tell ourselves that is what we are doing while the elites hurry us along to a new form of serfdom that whether it be communism or fascism is going to be godawful to live under. Now it doesn't make any goddamn sense from a financial side, I mean before the MCU look at poor SW, but that is the marching orders DEI has decreed and that is what is going to happen.

@Jayanth Kumar I kinda feel bad for Brie Larson, too. She was raised in Hollywood as a child actor and home schooled by two really stupid hippie parents. She never really stood a chance to become a person of true character or integrity. She's absolutely dripping with more insecurity and false confidence than Andrew Tate and probably hates herself more than your typical first-world upper-class feminist. No one is this miserable at the world while being happy with their lives.

It's ironic that Brie complained so much about women of color not getting lead roles in action films, and then she turns around and steals the lead role from Monica Rambeau who is canonically the first Captain Marvel in comics, rewrites Monica's canonical story by killing her father and making her mother a widow, and then replacing her father as Monica's role model. The whole reason Monica became Ms. Marvel in the first place is because she was inspired by her FATHER who was a firefighter, and Marvel originally wrote her lore that way as representation for nuclear black families in an era when society was heavily pushing the absent black father myth. Captain white lady just had to come in and jam her size 8 heel where it didn't belong, all while complaining about "patriarchy" and "cis men". The irony!

I laughed a ton at this and your Little Mermaid video. Great stuff! Your Guardiians takes were excellent too - did a good job summarizing my thoughts on the movie too. I walked out not nearly as blown away as everyone seemed to be but still thinking it was a lot better than what I'd seen lately, and your breakdown of the parts and the issues with them was great. I really wish Quill and Rocket's relationship was more deeply explored and I think the Warlock stuff was poorly done (though it is reassuring that Gunn himself didn't really want it there).

Now that I know Dr. Strange was kept out of WandaVision it passes me off more. If you couldn't have the white Sorcerer Supreme help, then why not the Asian one?. Wanda was having a mental breakdown. And as someone with a lifelong mental illnesses, I can't forgive Marvel for playing off mental illnesses as the same as being phycotic. That and how the Sorcerers Supremes both ignored this issue till she was so far into the darkness that dark magic made intervention impossible is all thier fault. Movies and TV shows are still using the mentally ill as thier villians, which just reinforces the stereotype that we are dangerous. This more then bad off screen behavior, is causing me to no longer have anything to do with the MCU. More people should speak on this.
