This is a case of people being _trained_ to see the world a certain way. Which is why those who believe in or encourage these types of power politics are so adamant about having control over what gets taught to kids - to normalize this mindset and lay down a foundation that makes it easier to sway a voting public. Freedom, especially freedom of thought, is not high on their list of values if it's there at all. Reminds me of Possum's 'everything is political' rant from the Ghostbusters 2016 review.

If the narrative of "The movie only failed cause people are sexist/racist/homophobic" was actually true... wouldn't that just be a tacit admission that studios SHOULDN'T be making that kind of movie? So following that logic a step further, the fact they did make this movie is evidence that they are trying to change that thinking, and they put that above making a profit. So they can all be proud that they sacrificed a billion dollars to prove a point. Unfortunately the quality and popularity of the movie proves the opposite point.

This has always happened throughout the history of cinema. There's a genre that is successful, so movies are released under said genre (westerns, space exploration, slashers, etc). Until the biggest and most expensive movie flops, look at the 1963 version of Cleopatra, or 1980 movie Heaven's Gate.

Right on the mark. Genre fatigue is settling in for superhero movies. It isn't just Marvel either. Every DC movie since Black Adam flopped, Ant man 3 flopped, and the marvels is doing abysmally. Guardians 3 and spider verse 2 were the only two successful ones this year. What are your bets on what will replace superhero movies once they're gone? I'd say video game based movies will, considering that Mario made a billion dollars and the FNAF movie is surpassing the marvels.

Here is one for ya. My mom was not a comic fan but over the years she kinda became one. At first by osmosis because I would watch MCU movies it wasn’t until somewhere around the Winter Soldier she actively wanted to watch them. Also she rarely goes to the theater to watch anything but she needed to see Black Panther on the big screen. Then Infinity Wars and she got hyped. In fact it took 5 or 6 weeks because it was always sold out. Wasn’t interested in the sandwiched Captain Marvel. But End Game? She was HYPED! HYPED! Side note I have been getting comic t-shirts for my birthday for years prior. Finally it was End Game time. It was mom that wanted to “dress” up. We donned our tees; Captain Marvel (mom), X-men (dad), and Hydra (me). I still have the picture of the three of us striking Heroic or Villainous poses. She actually asked some rando to take the picture. Also also it took two months to finally get seating, because End Game was sold out for those two months. Fast forward to two Thursdays ago and we needed to vacate the house because they were spraying. We went to see the Marvels. Mom played her crossword puzzle game on her phone the entire time. I think she looked up like 5 times. Quite honestly we should have waited the 1 hour and half to watch Trolls Band Together.

The facts tell nothing to him. Even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents, with pictures; even if I take him by force to the Soviet Union and show him [a] concentration camp, he will refuse to believe it, until he [receives] a kick in his fan-bottom. When a military boot crashes his balls then he will understand. But not before that. That’s the [tragedy] of the situation of demoralization.” It’s hard not to see in that the state of many modern Americans. Slapping in a gay person to pander to one group, but then cutting that character in its entirety when it goes to China. If its that easy to cut a character, WHY ARE THEY IN THE MOVIE!!? Just make movies with well written characters and stories and prople will watch it. Gender, race, sexuality are all surface level traits and do not define an individual. Why is this so hard Disney?

The reason they cut those things out for China is because China is already a Communist country. The "diversity, equity and inclusion" propaganda is just a means to create division as part of the demoralization and destabilization process of ideological subversion. Steps one and two of the "Four steps for ideological subversion". (Yuri Bezmenov, Former KGB Propaganda Agent, 1985) Demoralization - this is a process which can take about 15-30 years to perform (a generation). *During this stage, the moral fibre and integrity of the country is put into question, thereby creating doubt in the minds of the people. To do so, manipulation of the media and academia is required to influence young people.* As the younger generation embraces new values, such as Marxism and Leninism, the older generation slowly loses control simply through attrition. *Again, true facts no longer matter during this stage, but rather creating perceptions are of paramount importance.* ---This is why they always use the excuse of "sexism, racism, homophobia" for their failures. You could point out that Barbie and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse succeeded while having female and "minority" leads, but they will ignore that just to stick to the narrative. Eliminating American exceptionalism, fundamental change of national identity, *structural deconstruction of foundational principles, elimination of religion. Embedding a new societal design upon the psyche of generations through ideological academia, peer pressure by elites upon academics and society to convince that prior values were inherently flawed, racist, prejudiced etc. National identity is diluted with aspersions toward historical references. National History is re-written, re-defined, and molded to fit the new intended behavioral model and create the new values.* Communism and Religion Abolished - all religious and metaphysics is rejected. Engels and Lenin agreed that religion was a drug or “spiritual booze” and must be combated. *To them, atheism put into practice meant a “forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.”* Destabilization - the purpose of this step is to change the status quo, particularly the country's economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. *The intent is to create a massive government permeating society and becoming intrusive in the lives of its citizens. This can take from two to five years to perform, again with the active support of academia pushing youth in this direction. Here, entitlements and benefits are promised to the populace to encourage their support.* Basically, they are bribing the people to accept their programs. Bezmenov claims after this stage is completed, the naive college professors are no longer needed and since they will undoubtedly protest government policies when they discover the truth, they will be disposed of quickly. He cites examples of this occurring in Nicaragua, Grenada, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. ---Who is gaining entitlements and benefits, anyways? Is it not the so-called "oppressed minority"? Why do some people keep failing upwards despite failing over and over again? Is it because they are qualified for the work they do? Or is it because they check off certain intersectionality/ESG boxes? What happens when the majority of the population has finally had enough of a small, vocal minority being given special benefits while they (the majority) are told how evil they are? Does it gain sympathy for the "oppressed" group? And does it make people want to support the people/corporations who promote the minority, or will the majority also become resentful of the them as well? *“[T]he useful idiots, the leftists who are idealistically believing in the beauty of the Soviet socialist or Communist or whatever system,* when they get disillusioned, they become the worst enemies. That’s why my KGB instructors specifically made the point: never bother with leftists. Forget about these political prostitutes. *Aim higher.* [...] They serve a purpose only at the stage of destabilization of a nation. *For example, your leftists in the United States: all these professors and all these beautiful civil rights defenders. They are instrumental in the process of the subversion only to destabilize a nation. When their job is completed, they are not needed any more. They know too much.* Some of them, when they get disillusioned, when they see that Marxist-Leninists come to power-obviously they get offended-they think that they will come to power. That will never happen, of course. *They will be lined up against the wall and shot.”* Reverse psychology is a technique involving the assertion of a belief or behavior that is opposite to the one desired, with the expectation that this approach will encourage the subject of the persuasion to do what is actually desired. So the pendulum swings, now violently, now slowly; and every institution not only carries within it the seeds of its own dissolution, but prepares the way for its most hated rival. William Ralph Inge "Democracy and the Future" The Atlantic Monthly (March 1922) The current atheistic, Liberal Marxist institution is preparing the way for their most hated rivals, Ultra-Orthodox Religious Conservative fascists, to come to power. What is the “7 Mountains Mandate” (Dominionism/Dominion Theology)? Supposedly there are 7 “mountains” of global society-Arts and Entertainment, Education, Economy, Family, Government and Military, Media and Religion. (Note: The US voting machines are called “Dominion”.) According to this false teaching, by conquering these 7 “mountains”, the Kingdom of God will be established. Step 3 of the four steps for ideological subversion. Crisis - this is a major step lasting up to six weeks and *involves a revolutionary change of power.* This is where a cataclysmic event (civil war, invasion) upsets and divides the country thereby creating panic among the citizens. Recent examples include the 2011 upheavals in the Middle East, most notably Egypt and Libya. *To Americans, symptoms would include circumventing the Constitution* and altering the checks and balances of government, and possibly martial law. Creation of economic, financial, and national security crisis. Also includes social crisis and breakdown of previous self-evident restrictions on moral behavior. Cloward Piven approach to overloading the system, more takers than producers. The crisis produces benevolent leaders who will promise to deliver things to meet people's needs (Hope and Change) through social and economic justice. False illusions that the situation is under control if strategic directions are followed. (Bailouts, regulations of industry and so forth). Liberals are being used to create social and financial instability so that Conservatives can offer the solutions to our problems. This will lead to becoming a full fledged fascist regime that must be dealt with by Communists who then offer the solution to the problem of fascism led by "Christians" and Capitalists---Eliminate all of them.

A huge chunk of the glowing reviews for the first Captain Marvel movie (especially those by women) made sure to mention how much they LOVED the cat. It became one of those things pointed out by critics that the reviewers were scraping the bottom of the barrel for reasons why they liked the movie.

Considering how complacent not only Marvel but Disney as a whole have been with their output of mediocre sludge that gets defended by bootlicking virtue-signaling, dorks, I feel like this year should be a reminder that buying out the competition and over-saturating the market does not immediately lead to either good products or good will.

I saw a comment elsewhere that compared this movie to the WNBA. Because the audience it was geared towards didn't show up, guilt-shame the men for not supporting it. I'm also getting really, _really_ sick of these hacks that think they are _owed_ success for what they are or their crappy messaging. The product quality means nothing, nor does the audience's desire. We all exist for them and their ego, not that their movie exists to entertain us.

Wow, Possum. This movie JUST came out. No time wasted. No f*cks given! How is Kamala Khan a Captain Marvel fan? She appeared on Earth during the nineties, then left to find a home for the Skrulls (she failed, apparently). Captain Marvel returned just in time to be punched off-planet by Thanos (who couldn't do that to Thor or Iron Man). She achieved NOTHING while on Earth. Yet, she has fans?
