    Honestly while we can all agree this movie isnt the best I saw a kind of Joker theme in it of it being the story of the sad fall of some one whos down on there luck into madness through fame. Now of course they are not exactly the same. Outcomes. Actions. Execution of the movie. Public opinion. All of these things factor into it. But you cant deny there are some similarities. Does that make this movie good? Hell no. This movie is by far the greatest Mediocre travesty of a Success to come out of Disney in recent years but is it fun? Sure!

    Actually, the original Cruella is older than Han Solo and also Harley Quinn as many people know. She debuted in 1961 as Disney character. As Dodie Smith's novel character, much earlier, in 1956. Han Solo's debut:1977, Harley Quinn's debut:1992 So, she is more original than those two characters. But Solo and Harley are actually more well-developed and popular. Overall this movie is good, I think. But it has two huge annoying flaws: Firstly, it has too many cliches which are handled by cliché ways. Secondly and most importantly, it does not tell the real reason, real motive, real mad mentality behind her obsession and hate against Dalmatian dogs. Ok, maybe the movie tried to say that Cruella associates dalmatians with her horrific mother and torturing these dogs makes her feel that she actually has her revenge from her mother over and over again. But the movie does not impose this argument neither visually nor psychologically and sentimentally. It is not convincing. As if the movie is afraid of telling her eerie origin story about dalmatians, and actually about all furred animals . But performances of Emma Stone and Emma Thompson are stunning, musics and soundtracks are very good, costumes and visual effects are gorgeous. It is a cool fun movie. It is worth to watch, IMO. And this Cruella seems an alternative version of the original character. A parallel earth in Disney multiverse.

    @@hypatia137 I think you might be confused. I wasn't saying Cruella the character is like Joker or Han Solo, I was saying this movie is like the movie named Solo, as they both have a bad habit of explaining things about their main characters origins in ways that are kind of dumb (Solo being named that because he was on his own and Cruella getting her last name from a car, for example), and is nothing like the movie named Joker, which people on twitter have been comparing it to.

    The most unrealistic thing about this movie is the fact that the Baroness was able to train the Dalmatians to do coordinated attacks. Dalmatians are as dumb as bricks. If you ask me, Joker really sucked because they tried to humanize one of the most inhuman DC villains (and plus the movie was boring too). Joker’s history never mattered, he could be anyone or no one, all that matters is his inhumanity and how it’s all a game to him. It’s like the read Batman The Killing Joke and completely glossed over how Joker was freakin wrong. Plus the Batman series has so many other villains who fit the bill of a tragic villain way better than that. It would’ve worked better with ones like Mr Freeze, Two-Face, The Mad Hatter, or even Egghead. But no, I guess it had to be Joker because make recognition.

He's literally the most iconic villain in the history of superheroes, and you know we've already seen the origins of Batman enough times to count the amount of breathes we took in our lifetimes, so I think it was about time Joker got the spotlight to himself. Even as a female these kinds of films just piss me off. They potray that the only way a woman can be strong is to be superior over men. Disney itself created a film with a strong female protagonist:"Cinderella" that really showed that even after loosing both of her parents and being abused,neglected,worked up by her step family FULL OF WOMEN, she was positive,contend and hopefull. That was an actuall portrayal of a strong character. Nowadays no one needs to slap it to the audience's face that:'Oh incase you forgot she is a "strong" female character' But rather let the audience figure that out on their own.

Has one of the more stable relationships with his wife too (ironic, since many interpretations have him trick her into being stuck in the underworld most the year with him as a way to explain changing seasons). Hell, the role Hades has in the disney version of the movie if anything just kinda has Hades take the place of Hera, since it was Zues' wife who had the murder boner for yet another kid born from a woman other than her. Honestly, someone like Ursula funny enough would have probably worked better as a redeemable female villain in general if they're so dead set on it. Her actions when you actually look at it isn't anywhere near as horrid as other villains, you can kinda get why she hates the king, and like Hades she's not even the villain in the original story the disney version is based on. I agree with the rest of it but you didn't need to say the psychopath part. Stop demonizing the mentally ill and just hold people accountable, sociopaths and psychopaths suffer enough from chronic boredom. By generalizing a whole group of disabled people you're not being good in any way, you are silencing the victims of abuse that have ASPD and it's disgusting. Even if you were abused by someone with ASPD and not just diagnosing them because of how they were then it still doesn't mean all of them are like that, would you say that people with depression and PTSD are all abusers? because that's equally shitty and stupid, people were abused by people with those disorders and ASPD but they don't go on saying all of them are like that, there's also psychopaths and sociopaths that are abused by neurotypicals, simple as that. You can still have compassion without empathy, and lacking empathy does NOT mean lacking morality. Ted Bundy might have had ASPD but that doesn't mean murderers can't be neurotypicals too, and that victims can't have ASPD. By saying that all psychopaths are like that, you're being extremely ableist and offensive. You could have used the word murderer or something but psychopathy is a disorder, not an adjective.

    "Men criticize women for calling Cruella a girl boss, yet they like homelander". Really, homelander is fucked up in the head, he has the "im more powerful than you so im the boss of you" type vibe. Cruella had a parent who cared about her. Homelander had no parents, just doctors, and that's why homelander is so obsessed with his image to the public. Cruella isn't comparable to homelander.

    There is context to consider! The same action may be understood different ways depending on what made them do it. Killing just for the giggles? Killer! Killing in self defense? Victim. Either way they killed someone. In this Context it makes it at least more understandable that Cruella might have a grudge with especially Dalmatians, but as constantly shown by the Movie itself. Cruella fucking loves Animals in this Version.

    Girls can be even worse than boys sometimes. To them, it's not enough to just bully you. They have to assert their dominance by completely trashing your reputation. Usually through use of the internet.

  • @digitalfantasies4570

    @digitalfantasies4570

    Okay the comment above me is cringe, I have met several guys who do the exact same thing, when you do stuff like saying girls can be worse and you group a entire gender into "them" then it just seems wrong. You literally said "They have to assert their dominance". I'm presuming some girl had done that to you or a friend in the past but legit your comment goes directly against the original comment which is the fact that both guys and girls can be terrible people and that ANYONE can be bad and that grouping a certain gender as worse is wrong. And no saying "sometimes" at the start of your comment doesnt get rid of you basically saying girls act worse.

    @@digitalfantasies4570 tbh from what I've seen, girl are often worse than boys, mostly because they can do it so much more subtly and unnoticed, compared to boys. I don't know how they do it, but they seem to get away with bullying much easier than boys. Not that it should be a contest of who bullies better, both girls and boys should just stop, but I'm just saying that I've only ever found out about girls bullying other students once the victim came out about it or something happened to the victim, while I, for example, saw a boy pull off another boy's shoe and backpack and throw them away on the playground, _literally yesterday_ They had no subtlety whatsoever. Yet, I've never seen a girl bully with my own eyes.

    @@digitalfantasies4570 Actually, yes. Saying "sometimes" in the comment DOES get rid of the meaning that girls act worse all the time. @@digitalfantasies4570 This doesn't state it as a fact, but I've met quite a bit of girls over my lifetime and when this topic is brought up literally all of them have said girls can be far more cruel. It makes sense, too. Girls are typically more emotional. They know how to fuck with someone's emotions far more than the typical guy and jealousy is also a huge driving force. Guys don't get jealous of girls, but girls definitely get jealous of other girls. This doesn't mean guys are better than girls, it's just girls are arguably smarter when it comes to their own sex

    I was so mad when they revealed that: 1. She was BORN with white and black hair! I always liked the idea that she CHOSE to paint it that way to stand out you know? 2. She has a dog herself...... WHY?! it's not like the dog is so important to the story (except the 'stealing necklace scene' but they could've replaced Buddy with Wink). And then it makes even less sense, because I don't see a dogowner wanting to skin puppier. 3. That Jasper and Horace are her friends. In this movie she also HAD to apoligise for being a bitch, because they wouldn't help anymore otherwise. So why would they just take it from her in 101 dalmations?? 4. That she delivered the puppies around. Not neccecary because Perdita and Pongo are then related, but because that the scene in 101 dalmations that Cruella had to discover that newborn puppies don't have spots doesn't make sense then. (and that scene is dumb anyway). There are more things that frustrated me, but that they didn't really think about making a prequal that would make sense or that fits the 101 dalmations movie is the most frustrating to me.
