    I was at the Boston show on this tour. Had followed them through their whole career but never been to a show, they always seemed to be... sloppy, rushed, too focused on crazy stage antics at the expense of the music. When I saw some footage of this tour, it seemed like everything had changed. Their focus, dedication, and the quality of what they deliver... just through the roof. They may be older now, but they've really matured in ways that they can finally do their amazing music the justice it deserves. Was an honor being at that show, without a doubt the best concert I've ever been to in my life, and I hope to see more along these lines in the years to come.

    I saw them twice in the early 00s. They were very jammy with wild Who style stage moves. The first time I think the lyrics were improved. I like jammy and wild stage over being too refined and too robotic. I saw Rush once and it was like watching machines playing... it was too perfect; seemed to have no heart.

  • @groovydeath

    @groovydeath

    Agreed. I think part of the "crazy stage antics" can honestly be explained by thinking about how fucking good the music is-- I mean imagine playing up on stage with them, I for one know I'd lose my shit and not be able to help myself but break into aggressive dance and jumping and headbanging even while performing. Sometimes you feel the music so much you simply have to dance and their music is extremely dance-able. I can't fault Cedric for going apeshit while singing.

    I wanted to drive up to Seattle from Portland to see them on this tour, but didn't. I've watched this maybe twenty times now, and it's a true regret. I missed something truly special. Thanks so much for putting this up.

    I was at this show and apart from being an incredible show in every way, my favorite memory was probably a drunk guy who kept singing "I CAN'T REMEMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR" over and over throughout Cygnus. God bless your soul

    The fact that the crowd is louder than Cedric during the chorus to roulette dares... That piece of music was a message channeled directly from God

    59:40 I love the fact that when omar plays the first note to go back into the song, the crowd reacts. also on all the "old" songs the crowd knows all the words. my people.

    DUDE this website is AMAZING. You guys have a fuck ton of videos and full set-lists and posters... I'm immediately hooked. You should add a feature where people can comment, then you'd have your own little ecosystem! Fuckin awesome man

    Thank you for the kind words! We love being the go to place for everything TMV related. We do have a Facebook page where people discuss shows when we post them. We tried to integrate the old Mars Volta message board into our page but sadly the board died before we could work it out with the admins. Hopefully one day we can figure something out. It's definitely on our long list of things to do.
